Brenda L. Warren, age 61, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2004 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, VA
Her mother, sisters, brothers, and many dear and special friends survive her.
Brenda requested that there be no funeral service for her. The family would like to thank the Sugar Grove Life Saving Crew, Smyth County Community Hospital' s Emergency Room Doctor and Nurses; the Nurses and staff on the fourth floor; a special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Jonkers for her special care, support and love; and additionally, thanks to Dr. Sam Vernon and Dr. Wayne Reynolds.
Richard Lewis Emmert
Richard Lewis Emmert, 78, of Damascus, passed away Monday, August 2, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a WWII veteran, serving in the Army.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita (Ead) Emmert; 2 sons, Curtis Emmert of Abingdon, and Darwin Emmert, of Cincinnati, OH; a daughter, Judy Moorefield, of Abingdon; brother, Don Emmert, of Abingdon; sisters, Ottaline McCracken, of Bristol, and Lethia Wyatt, of Abingdon; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
Cryptside services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 11am at Forest Hills Memory Gardens Chapel of Memories, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, with Rev. John Stapleton officiating.
Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery.

Mrs. Carrie Jane ' Nola' Crabtree, age 84, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 03, 2004 at her home in Abingdon. She was born in Wise County, Virginia and had lived in Abingdon since 1990. She was a member of the Georges Fork Freewill Baptist Church in Clintwood, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, David Brownlow and Hulda Fleming Mullins; two children, David and Penny Crabtree; two sisters, Dollie Hibbits and Maxie Davis; and a brother, Beldon Mullins. Robert Blevins Rice
Mr. Robert Blevins Rice, age 84, died Sunday, August 1, 2004 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 28, 1920 in Johnson County, TN to the late John Blevins Rice and Jessie Boone Rice. Mr. Rice was also preceded in death by a daughter Judy Marie Baumgardner.
Mr. Rice was retired from the Good Luck Beverage Company and was an Army Air Force Veteran having served in the China-Burma Theatre during WW II. He was of the Methodist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta K. Rice; a son and daughter-in-law, John B. Rice and Brenda S. Rice of Bristol, TN; a granddaughter, Michelle Fleenor of Bristol, VA; three great grandchildren, Terri Leigh, J. C. and Hannah; special friends, Sarah and John Denton, Joe Widener, Clyde Grindstaff and anyone else who was touched by his life.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon with Rev. Freddy Miller officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
Lola Jackson Wise
Lola Jackson Wise, age 82, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Elizabethton, TN. She was born and raised in Abingdon, Virginia. She was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Wise, and one daughter, Ann Hutchins.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Barnes of Johnson City, TN; two sons, Don Wise of Yuma, VA and Curtis Wise of Johnson City, TN; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Jackson and wife Sue; one sister-in-law, Sarah Jackson of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Lola Jackson Wise will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2004, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Knollkreg Cemetery in Abingdon with the Rev. Bob Carbary officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 \endash 9:00 p.m. Saturday night at the funeral home.

Katrina Dawn Wakefield
Katrina Dawn Wakefield, 20 months, died Thursday, August 5, 2004. She was born November 29, 2002 in Washington County, Virginia to Frank Clinton Wakefield III and Melissa Carol Morris Wakefield.
In addition to her parents, Katrina is survived by her sister, Heather Leeann Wakefield, of the home; paternal grandparents, Frank and Judy Wakefield, Jr. of Meadowview; maternal grandparents, Pamela and Richard Morris of Bristol, VA and Debbi and Roger Blackwell of Abingdon; great-grandparents Ira and Jearline Caudill of Meadowview; Nellie Morris of Abingdon; and William and Jewel Caudill of Abingdon; aunts and uncles Samantha and Daniel Mowl of Meadowview; Jerry Lee Wakefield of Meadowview; Lisa Ann Morris of West Jefferson, NC; Marvin Gene Morris of Bristol, TN and Billy B. Althey Melita McNeil
Mrs. Althey Melita McNeil, age 91, went to be the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. McNeil had lived all of her life in the Chilhowie and Glade Spring area and attended the Church of God in Glade Spring, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George ' Bo' McNeil, was retired employee of Bonham Apple Orchards and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include a son, Glenn ' Bob' McNeil, Maryland, a daughter, Peggy Jean Dye, Wilmington, NC, a sister, Evelyn Surber, Rural Hall, NC, grandchildren, Wayne McNeil, Glade Spring, VA, Chuck McNeil, Abingdon, VA, Mike Dye, West Palm Beach, Florida, Jeff Dye, Richmond, VA, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 8, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Bird officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Rose Cemetery.

Nathan Todd Stanley
Mr. Todd Stanley, 33, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County. A son of the late Laquita J. and Norman A. Stanley and was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Jeff Stanley.
Todd loved his Harley and his horses. He also enjoyed a variety of other outdoor activities such as camping and fishing. When he wasn' t playing, he was co-owner of Stanley Brothers Septic and Grading and did some farming.
Survivors include his daughter, Kaitlyn Bryans, Daytona Beach, Florida, a brother, Mark Stanley, Bristol, VA, a sister, Kandi Berry, two nephews, Jeffrey Berry and Cody Stanley, one niece, Sonya Abel, one great niece, Zailey Rainbow Abel. He also leaves behind his fiance', Joy Morrison and two wonderful boys he raised as his own, Jordan and Tyler Morrison.

Andrew C. Dolinger, Sr.
Mr. Andrew C. Dolinger, age 71, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 5, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia. He retired from the United States Air Force after serving his country for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1994. Before illness forced him to retire, he and his oldest son operated Dolinger Heating and Cooling. Andy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was loved by all that knew him. Linda Lane Widener, age 62, die Friday, August 6, 2004 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
She was born August 17, 1942 in Washington County and was preceded in death by her father, James Hubert Lane and a brother, James Lane. Linda was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a son, John C. Widener, Jr. and wife Louise of Abingdon; three daughters, Patty Coffey and husband Stephen of Hudson, NC, Carolyn Ratliff and husband J.R. of Kingsport and Kristi Ingram and husband Jack of Lenoir, NC; her mother and step-father, Susan and Lue Spiva of Abingdon; three sisters, Mary Lane Doss and husband Carl of Chilhowie, VA, Betty Lane Hicks of Abingdon and Brenda Lane Leutbecher and husband Allen of Meadowview, VA; a step-brother, Richard Spiva and wife Peggy of Bristol, VA; eight grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews.

Doris Love
Doris Compton Love, age 50, died Friday, August 6, 2004 in Johnson City Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 21, 1953 in Harlan, KY and lived most of her life in Washington County, Virginia. Mrs. Love was a graduate of Abingdon High School and attended Virginia Intermont College and was employed by Dominion Carton, Inc. She grew up in the Abingdon Baptist Church and attended Hunt Memorial United Methodist Church in recent years.
Mrs. Love was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Mullins Compton; her maternal grandparents, Francis and Cecile Clay Mullins; her paternal grandparents, W. C. and Rose Sutherland Compton and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her father, Lee Compton, two sons and a daughter-in-law; Bo and Shannon Love and Jason Love all of Bristol, VA.

Daniel Ray Foster
Mr. Daniel Ray Foster, age 41, died Saturday August 7, 2004.
Dan was a native of Alexandria, VA and had lived most of his life in Abingdon, VA.
He had attended the Abingdon Church of the Nazarene and was currently employed by James C. Bundy Architectural Services.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mearl Ray Foster.
Survivors include a son, Ian Foster, Abingdon, VA, his mother, Patricia Foster, Sweetwater, TN, a brother, Tom Foster and wife, Macy, Sweetwater, TN, two sisters, Marla Tucker and husband, Mark, Madisonville, TN and Sharyl Carter, Kingsport, TN, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday August 11, 20004 at 10:00 a.m. at the graveside in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.

Roy McKinley Prater
Roy McKinley Prater, age 77, died Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at his home.
Roy was born on March 29, 1927 in Washington County, Virginia and was a son of the late Victory Prater and Clada Dinsmore Prater. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Wayne Jenkins; a granddaughter, Amy Little, four brothers, Rush Prater, Claude Prater, Jim Prater, and Toney Prater; four sisters, Ellen O' Quinn, Frances Perry, Ethel Bethard and Margaret O' Quinn.
Roy was a retired dairy farmer and a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the 5th Bomber Group, Tokyo, Japan during WW II.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years , Virginia Humphrey Prater; one son, Mike Prater of Abingdon; five daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Lionel Osborne, Mary and Everett Louthian, Pam and Mark Puckett all of Meadowview, Ann and Chester Jenkins and Nancy and Ronald Little all of Glade Spring; his mother-in-law, Ila Humphrey of the home; two brothers, Harry Prater of Glade Spring and Elmer Prater of Meadowview; three sisters, Ollie Morrison of Sidney, OH, Virginia Trent of Glade Spring, VA and Elizabeth Sheppard of Saltville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Friday, August 13, 2004 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Brother Tommy Wilson and Rev. Roger Yuhaz officiating. Interment will follow in Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Casket bearers will be McKinley Osborne, Nathan Osborne, DeWayne Prater, Danny Puckett, Chad Ray, Charles Prater, Darrell Louthian and Eric Louthian. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P. M. Nancy Bellamy Jones
Nancy Bellamy Jones, age 70, died Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was born on December 11, 1933 in Washington County to the late Lilburn Bellamy and Lula Wolfe Bellamy. Nancy was also preceded in death by her husband David Jones; two brothers, Odel Bellamy and Dennis Bellamy and a sister Elizabeth Lewis.
Nancy was a former employee of Virginia Glove Company in Glade Spring and Harwood Manufacturing Co. of Abingdon. She was a member of the Outreach for Christ Church.
She is survived by a daughter Mary Ann Jones of Abingdon; a brother, Scott Bellamy of Abingdon; two sisters, Bertha Henderson of Martinsville, VA, Dorothy White of Collinsville, VA and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 13, 2004 at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Leonard Bellamy and Rev. Paul Price officiating. Interment will follow the service. Those attending the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery
by 1:50 P.M. Friday. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mary Fannie Hughes
Mary Fannie Hughes, age 86, of Abingdon, formerly of Lebanon, went to be with the Lord , Wednesday, August 11, 2004 in Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Washington County, VA on March 24, 1918 to the late James ' Willie' Keith and Bertha Mitchell Keith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Hughes; son, Ralph Hughes; grandson Richard; and great grandson, Chris.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Hughes and his wife, Shelby of Abingdon; daughter-in-law, Lois Hughes; daughter, Clair Mabe and her husband, Robert of Abingdon; son, James D. Hughes and his wife Rhodora of Alhambra, CA; son, Larry Hughes and his wife, Wanda, of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ruby Eastridge, Olivene Hunt, and Kathleen Wolfe; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 3pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 E Main, with Rev. Tim Norris and Rev. Darrell Henley officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.

Grace Tilson Goodpasture
Grace Tilson Goodpasture, age 82, went to be with the Lord at her son' s home in Bristol, Virginia on August 11, 2004. A native of Marion, Virginia, she was born on January 28, 1922, the seventh of thirteen children to John Ross Tilson and Winnie Debord Tilson.
She was married for 33 years to the late W. C. (Bill) Goodpasture and moved in 1948 to Norton, Virginia, where they raised their family. After her husband' s passing in 1969, she moved to Abingdon, Virginia to be near her family. She was an accomplished seamstress and upholsterer. She worked for many years with many dear friends at several garment factories in the Bristol area before their closings. She was an employee for over 15 years with Tri-City Security Company, working as an ATM specialist and seamstress.
She was a member of Spring Creek Presbyterian Church in Abingdon. She was also a member of the Friendship Club and enjoyed very much her monthly meetings with her friends. She obtained her GED at the age of 65 with honors and many accolades for her work ethic and determination in reaching this goal she had set for herself. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Survivors include her two sons, W. C. (Bill) Goodpasture and wife Mary Sue of Meadowview, VA, and Richard (Dick) Goodpasture and wife Sharon of Bristol, VA; one sister, Elizabeth Hall of Washington, GA; two brothers, Harry Tilson of Falls Church, VA and Ted Tilson of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Tom and Scott Goodpasture and Michelle Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Kristy Johnson, April Leonard and Gracie Goodpasture (who was named after Mrs. Goodpasture); two step-granchildren, Becky Darnell and Amy Brunty; and one step great-grandchild, Dylan Brunty. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a host of friends, especially her closest neighbors, Bob and Brenda Reynolds and their children, and Doug and Phyllis Meade and daughter Shannon.
Funeral services for Grace Tilson Goodpasture will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2004, in the Farris Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stephen Talbert officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004 at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA.

Brenda Mae Robins
Mrs. Brenda Mae Montgomery Robins, age 51, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Brenda was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Robins, a daughter, Kathy Robins of the home, two sons, James Lewis, III and wife, Angela, Marshall Lewis and wife, Angel, Bristol, TN, two step-children, Mary Rasnake and husband, Dual, Abingdon, VA, Randy Robins of the home, five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, her parents, Lewis and Jewell Montgomery, Bristol, TN, four sisters, Janie Baumgardner Roberts and husband, Eddie, Darlene Baumgardner and husband, Bob and Sandy Mitchell all of Bristol, TN, Gail Lawson and husband, Ray, Powell, TN, two brothers, Robert Montgomery and wife Pat, Daryl Montgomery and wife, Karla, Bristol, TN, fifteen nieces and nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. John Wesley Price, Rev. Mahlon Wyatt, Rev. Floyd Nelson officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.

Mary Sue Plummer
Mary Sue Plummer, a resident of 501 Mary Street, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at her home.
She was born in Washington County, Virginia and was a daughter of the late Harry Anderson and Susie Turner Anderson. Mary was a graduate of Virginia Intermont College and attended Highlands Fellowship Church. She was a former employee of Bristol Compressors.
She is survived by three daughters, Tainia Jackson and husband Keith of Greer, SC, Virginia Winter and husband Gary of Abingdon, VA and Bridgette Plummer of Crescent Springs, KY; a sister, Gwendolyn Scott of Abingdon, VA, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2004 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Michael Orr Addison
Mr. Michael Orr Addison, age 50, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004
He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and was employed with the Washington County School System for 23 years. He was a past president of the Shriners and was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Addison, Damascus, VA a son, Michael Martin Addison, Glade Spring, VA, two daughters, Kelsie Michelle Addison, Glade Spring, VA and Amy Addison Perrigan and husband, Keith, Abingdon, VA, step-children, Chase Poore, Bristol, VA, Chad Poore and wife, Becky, Abingdon, VA, Courtney Perrigan and husband, Steve, Bristol, VA, his parents, George Curtis and Marjorie Orr Addison, Abingdon, VA, a sister, Joy Addison Rowe and husband, Bill, Damascus, VA, two grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Friday, August 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Addison Family Cemetery, Meadowview, VA with Rev. Robert Thornton and Rev. John Wesley Price officiating.

Mary Gay Widener Mee
Mary Gay Widener Surber Mee, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2004. She was a member of Palestine Baptist Church in Abingdon. Mrs. Mee had lived in several areas, including Ohio; Crescent City, California, where she earned a nursing degree;
Athens, Greece, where she married her second husband, Lester Meade, and then relocated with him to Kenya, where they lived for 3 years; Ocala, Florida; and most recently, Abingdon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary Elizabeth Widener; her husbands, Clayton Surber and Lester Meade; sister, Shirley Ann Widener; and brother, Herman Widener. Survivors include her daughters, Gloria Delp, Barbara Authenreth, and Linda Hicklin; son, Charles Curtis (Sam) Surber; brother, Gordon Widener; sisters, Betty Deel, Violet Rossi, Edna Delp, and Minnie Cullop; 9 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her great grandsons, Dakota and Austin Neely. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Grace Healthcare, 600 Walden, Road, Abingdon, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Sherrill Dunn. Family and friends are to meet at the cemetery.

James Scott Bellamy
Mr. James Scott ' Smokey' Bellamy, age 78, went home to be with the Lord, August, 20, 2004 at his home.
He was born on November 28, 1925 in Washington County to the late Lilburn Bellamy and Lula Wolfe Bellamy. Two brothers, Odell Bellamy and Dennis Bellamy and two sisters, Elizabeth Lewis and Nancy Jones also preceded Scott in death. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Bellamy.
Scott was a former employee of Mid-Mountain Foods and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah McVey Bellamy; three sons, Leonard Bellamy, Jerry Bellamy of Abingdon and Curtis Bellamy of Bristol, VA; two sisters, Bertha Henderson of Martinsville, VA and Dorothy White of Collinsville, VA; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M., Monday, August 23, 2004 in the Farris Funeral Chapel with his son, Leonard Bellamy officiating. The committal and interment service will be conducted at 11 A.M., Tuesday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Those attending the committal service are asked to assemble at the cemetery
by 10:50 A.M. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 6 \endash 7:45 P.M. Monday before the funeral service.
Linda H. Galliher
Mrs. Linda H. Galliher, age 58, passed away, Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Smyth County, Virginia and had lived in Bristol, Grayson County, Louisiana and Pound before moving to Chilhowie in 1993. Linda had been a substitute teacher at the Northwood High School and also had been the Director of the Pound High School Color Guard. She had been employed as a sales representative for the Cross Market Company and enjoyed making, selling and going to craft shows. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Hiler Hunt.

Frances Rosenbaum
Mrs. Frances Virginia Rosenbaum, age 84, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was employed with the Lasueur Dairy Farms for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband, John Rosenbaum, Bristol, VA, Two sons and their wives, James and Peggy Rosenbaum, Troutdale, VA, Wiley A. and Pauline Rosenbaum, Duffield, VA, six daughters and their husbands, Gladys and James Cox, Bristol, VA, Katherine and J. C. Dickenson, Bristol, VA, Violet and Roger Steele, Trinity, NC, Joyce and David Vickers, Mendota, VA, Judy and Earnest Mahala, Check, VA, Barbara and Don Payne, Boone, NC, one brother, Dewey Reed, Van Buren, AR, thirty grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus, VA with Rev. Walter Statzer officating.

James Elbert Dutton
JAMES ELBERT ' HIBALL' DUTTON, 83, of Abingdon, passed away Monday, August 23, 2004. A lifelong resident of Washington County, he was a member of East Bristol Church of Christ, where he was a past elder. Mr. Dutton was an army veteran, serving during WWII, and was the recipient of the Silver and Bronze stars. He had worked at Gray' s Hosiery Mill and Raytheon, and was past president of Industrial Management Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Dutton; grandson, David; and brother, Ralph.
Survivors include his son, Ed Dutton and his wife, Nancy, of Abingdon; 5 brothers, Paul, Aaron, Daniel, and Joe Dutton, all of Bristol, and Elgin Dutton, of Richmond; 3 sisters, Retha Leonard and Margaret Wann of Bristol, and Louise Jones of Athens, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Courtney, Caitlynn, Sarah, and Matthew Dutton, and Susan Ruble; and 1 great granddaughter, Madalyn Ruble.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4pm Wednesday, August 25, 2004 in the Farris Funeral Chapel, with Ministers Everette Morefield and Jeff Trotter officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30pm until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Colonial Chapel Mausoleum.

Mrs. Lois Warren Turley, 75, of Abingdon, passed away at her residence Friday, August 27, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a charter member of Rich Valley Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents,
Rogan Lee and Ida Cunningham Warren; and 3 brothers, Ralph, Carl, and Richard Warren. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lois B. Turley; sons, D. Glenn Turley and his wife, Brenda, of Richmond, VA and Wayne Turley and his wife, Laryssa, of Abingdon; daughters, Regina T. Naff and her husband, Ronnie of Shawsville, VA and Martha T. Moody and her husband, Jim, of Destin, FL; 2 grandchildren, Mark Moses and Montana Turley; 6 step grandchildren, Arvon and Wayland Griffiths, Caleb Seymore, Heather and Wyatt Moody, and Alena Naff; 1 step great granddaughter, Kristen Griffiths; 1 brother, James Byron Warren and his wife, Marie, of Hedgesville, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Laura Virginia Gregory Casey
Mrs. Laura Virginia Gregory Casey, age 68, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2004 at her residence. She had lived all but a couple of years in Washington County, Virginia and was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle. She and her husband were the owners and operators of the Tastee Freeze of Abingdon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carl Casey.
Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Lana Sue and David Wayne Worley, Abingdon VA, Janet Carol and Timothy Owen Riley, Abingdon, VA, grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Anderson, Matthew Riley and Mackenzie Riley all of Abingdon, VA, a sister, Carol Christine Farmer, Abingdon, VA.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, August 29, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Price and Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.

Kathy Vermillion
Kathy Vermillion, age 48, of Meadowview, passed away Friday, August 27, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a member of Lindell Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Garland and Alice Louellen Vermillion; and a sister, Carol Vermillion.
Survivors include her 2 brothers, Jimmy Wayne Vermillion of Lebanon, and Sherman Vermillion of Abingdon; and niece. Patti Gaughan and great nieces, Kristen and Kelsey Morrison, all of whom she was very fond.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 30, 2004 from 6-7pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, with the funeral service beginning at 7pm. A committal service will be held Tuesday at 11am at Mountain View Baptist Cemetery, where the family and friends will gather at 10:45.
Orville W. Addington
Orville W. Addington, 95, of Abingdon, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2004. He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church of the Highlands, and was an avid golfer and bridge player. Mr. Addington was a Navy veteran, and a retired Professor of Math from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Constance Bowman Addington.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, June Bowman Owens, of Abingdon; one brother, Omer C. Addington, of Gate City, VA; special friend and caregiver, Nancy V. Abel, of Abingdon; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
