Hazel Ratcliff Lester
Hazel Ratcliff Lester, age 84, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at her home.
A lifelong resident of Glade Spring, VA, Hazel was a daughter of the late Robert Ratcliff and Mattie Dillard Ratcliff. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary Ratcliff, Annie Ratcliff, Mrs. French Rosenbaum, Mrs. Rosa Neikirk, and Grace Ratcliff. Hazel was a member of the Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roland Lester; one son, Robert E. (Butch) Lester, and his wife, Brenda, of Chilhowie; one sister, Sue Powers, and her husband, Leo, of Glade Spring; one granddaughter, Meagan Lester; three step grandchildren, Dustin Bowman, Chad Bowman, and Beth Cato; one step great grandchild, Lilly Bowman; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 4, 2004 in the Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. J. L. DeBord and Rev. Timothy Bird officiating. Interment will follow the service. Those attending the funeral service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 33234 Lee Highway, Glade Spring, VA 24340.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice of Southwest Virginia, her caretakers, and Dr. Baker and Staff.

James E. Harless
JAMES E. (JIM) HARLESS, 81, of Abingdon, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2004 at his home. He was born in Washington County, Virginia, where he had lived most of his life. He was the son of the late Henry Frank and Julie Anne White Harless. Jim was a member and trustee of Temple Baptist Church and had attended Shiloh Baptist Church and Palestine Baptist Church. He was a member of the Abingdon Masonic Lodge #48, the Abingdon Chapter of the Eastern Star #182, the Bellwash Chapter of the Eastern Star #65, and the James E. Peters Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans #57. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Jim had served on the Washington County Planning Commission, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Brown during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 \'bd years, Irene Steagall Harless, and a son, James Gilbert Harless. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be missed.
He is survived by two daughters, Peggy Harless Bowman, and her husband, J.R., and Jacqueline Harless McCormick, and her husband, Bob, all of Abingdon; one son, Henry Frank Harless; 6 grandsons, Jay Harless and wife Kim, Jeff Allen and friend Dana, James Barrett and wife Leslie, Brian Barrett and wife Olivia, Anthony McCormick, and Henry Harless; four great grandchildren, Ben Harless, Brittany Barrett, Jessee Barrett, and Jena Allen; former daughter-in-law Carla Harless Marshall and husband, Elbert, of Wadesboro, N.C.; sister-in-law Sharon Fields and husband Bobby, of Abingdon; brother-in-law Roy Crusenberry, of Abingdon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 5, 2004 at 4PM in the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. John Wesley Price and Rev. Jack Sprinkle officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6PM Saturday at the Temple Baptist Church, with a Masonic service beginning at 7PM.

Mary Wright Sweet
Mary Wright Sweet, age 87, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004 at her residence.
Mary had lived most of her life in Washington County, VA and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Sweet, her parents, John and Jane Greer Wright, her brothers, Lacy, Walt, Jim, Bob, George, Frank and Charlie Wright.
Survivors include three daughters, Rhoda Stuart, Meadowview, VA, Georgia Adams, Grandy, NC, Nancy Mathews, Richmond, VA, a sister, Martha Eastridge, Damascus, VA, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Dr. Don Paxton officiating.
The committal graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Zion Cemetery. Those attending are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 9:30 a.m. for the procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be George Stuart, Mike Stuart, Brent Stuart, Bradly Stuart, Rick Baumgardner, Brian Mutter.

Janie Yarber Widner
Janie Yarber Widner, age 59, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Janie was a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA and was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church for over 35 years.
Janie was a very unselfish person. She touched the lives of many children and was involved with child care at Rosedale Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Beulah Heath Yarber, a sister, Nellie VanHuss, brothers, J. R., Ikey Joseph, Oliver, Ronnie, Bobby, Randy and Dennis Yarber.
Survivors include her husband, Earl C. Widner, Glade Spring, VA, children of the home, Nikki, Dalton, Crystal, Randall, Lori and Sheril, her brothers and theirs wives, Allen and Linda R. Yarber and David and Linda P. Yarber both of Glade Spring, VA, her sisters and their husbands, Margaret and John Good, Timberville, VA, Debbie and Willie Testerman, Meadowview, VA, many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Rosedale Baptist Church with Dr. Don Paxton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Gay S. Poston Thomas
GAY S. POSTON THOMAS, 88, of Abingdon, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at Grace Health Care. She was a resident of Washington County, where she had lived most of her life.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Thomas, and seven sons and daughters.
Survivors include her son, William Ralph Thomas, of Monroe, Michigan; her daughter, Madge Thomas Tascier, of Norman, Oklahoma; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; one brother, Landon (Dave) Poston, of Marion; two sisters, Sue Anderson, of Pennsylvania and Georgia Kate Graham, of Roanoke, VA.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2004 from 6-8pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park.
Mary Ann Riffe
MARY ANN RIFFE, age 47, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 after a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Painter Creek Church of Christ, where she also served as the choir director. She was an employee of the Washington County School Board, where she taught music, grades K-12.
She was a loving wife and mother, who loved her Lord, camping, trail riding and the outdoors, raising goats and horses on their small farm, but mostly sharing the song in her heart.
Survivors include her parents, Sonny and Libby Scott, of Abingdon; her husband of 24 years, Arlie Riffe; their son, Preston Riffe; her mother-in-law, Arvella Riffe, of Abingdon; and Anthony and Cynthia Riffe, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, of Grundy.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 10, 2004 from 6-9 pm at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA.
Funeral services will be held at Painter Creek Church of Christ on Saturday, at 1:00 pm with Ministers Richard Gaminde and Mark Gaminde officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Don Scott, Larry Scott, Randolph Scott, Anthony Riffe, Emery Pruett, Ray Taylor, Emory Ratliff, and James Ling. The men of the Painter Creek Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the support by the faculty and students of High Point Elementary, Valley Institute Elementary, and the teachers of Washington County, during Mary Ann' s illness. With your help, she celebrated life, her love of music, and her love of teaching for many years. Michael Ray Pierce
MICHAEL RAY PIERCE, 45, passed away Monday, December 6, 2004 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Michael was a lifelong resident of Washington County, VA, and attended Abingdon Church of the Nazarene for many years. He was a loving husband, step-father, son, brother, and friend. Michael was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Joe S. Wise, of Abingdon, and paternal grandfather Burl Ray Pierce, of Saltville.
Survivors include his wife of 2 years, Sharon Gentry Pierce, of Abingdon; stepchildren, Brad Hale, Jennifer Hale, and Caroline Sword, all of Abingdon; his mother, JoAnne Pierce Adkins, and husband, Clyde, of Danville, VA; his father, Ray Clifton Pierce, of Maryland; one brother, Mark E. Pierce, of Danville, VA; three sisters, Mitzi P. Ray and husband, Richard, Sherry P. Decker, and husband, Steven, and Deborah P. Warren and husband, Arthur, all of Danville, VA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thom and Chloe Schreiber, of Palm Harbor, Florida; mother-in-law, Marjorie Gentry, of Abingdon; father-in-law, Carl Gentry, and wife, Jan, of Abingdon; maternal grandmother, Virginia C. MRS. MARY RUTH CECIL, 50, passed away, Thursday, December 9, 2004, at the Wellmont Hospice. Mary was a wonderful, loving wife and mother. She attended the First Christian Church in Abingdon, Va.
She is survived by: Her husband, Stuart Cecil; A son, Trey Cecil of the home; Her parents, Gervis and Delphia Deel of Vansant, Va.; One sister, Norma Dye and husband, Ken of Bluefield, Va..
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 12, 2004, at 7:00 PM in the First Christian Church in Abingdon with Mr. Dennis Wheeler and Mr. Tom Crise officiating.
The family will receive from 5 - 7 PM at the church.
A committal service will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Knollkreg Memorial Park.

Christine Tuell Wyatt
MRS. CHRISTINE "TEENIE" TUELL WYATT, 70, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 9, 2004 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Fred and Iretta Harris Tuell. She had attended the Washington Springs United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Milton Wyatt, an aunt, Ella Bell Arnold, an uncle, Moody Tuell, a half brother, Curtis Tuell and a half sister, Ursula Looney.
She is survived by: One son, Joe Wyatt and wife, Travis of Glade Spring, Va.; Three grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis and husband, Mike of Abingdon, Va. Adam E.B. Wyatt of Abingdon, Va., Madeline Keen and husband, Jamie of Mt. Carmel, Tenn.; Two great grandchildren, Preston Lewis and Sydney Lewis
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, December 11, 2004, at 6:00 PM in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Eugene Little officiating.

Flora Marie Behymer
Mrs. Flora Marie Behymer, age 94, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the Grace Healthcare Center in Abingdon.
Born on September 23, 1910 in Arnhem, OH, she was a daughter of the late, Charles and Lena Holloway Mark. Mrs. Behymer was also preceded in death by her husband Courtney Behymer and a son, Ronald Behymer. Mrs Behymer was a member of the Macedonia Church of Christ in Abingdon. She had spent many years in the Winchester, OH. After the death of her husband, she made her home with her son Charles in Tucson, AZ before moving to Abingdon.
A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 14, 2004 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Evangelist Michael S. McCoy officiating.
The family will greet friends after the service.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, December 16, 2004 in the Chapel of Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Interment will follow in the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown.
Ward Lincoln Wagner
Born 11 July 1910, in the DeBusk Mill area of Washington Co., VA, son of the late Franklin Green Wagner, native of Bland Co., VA (25 December 1877-23 May 1958) and Jennie Witt Wagner, native of Tazewell Co., VA (20 May 1878-28 December 1965, both residents of Washington Co. for most of their lives, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2004 in the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, VA.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family in his generation.
On 05 August 1931, he married Carrie Elizabeth Thomas, was a former resident of the Kelly' s Chapel area of Washington Co., had life-long membership in Kelly' s Chapel United Methodist Church where many members of his family worshipped, and had resided in the Meadowview area since March 1976.
Employed as a miller with the Chilhowie, J. T. Wilkinson & Son, and Meadowview Mills, was a farmer (enjoyed his animals) and an avid gardener, even at age 92, Ward lived a long and blessed life. He will be remembered most as a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend to many.
In addition to parents, siblings who preceded him in death were: Nannie Janette Wagner Keller (20 June 1903-07 August 1929), Albert Douglas ' Prince' Wagner (19 January 1905-21 July 1975) and James White Wagner (18 March 1907-02 April 1987); also, son, Billy Doran Wagner (09 June 1935-14 August 2002); daughter-in-law, Patricia Alene Kell Hunter Wagner (02 March 1934-25 November 1995); granddaughter-in-law, Janet Lee Robbins Wagner (13 January 1959-18 November 1977); great-great-grandson, Colton Riley Gonzalez (14 July -14 August 1999); nephew, James White Kermit Greenway Keller (05 August 1929-23 July 1988).
Survivors in addition to his wife: daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Wagner (Junior Richard ' J.R.' ) Allen, Abingdon, VA; grandsons, Melvin Doran (Patricia Elaine Shephard) Wagner, Rock Falls, IL; Dr. William Richard (Kathryn Weldy) Allen, Cincinnati, OH; step-grandson, James (Kelly Geidner) Hunter, Rock Falls; great-granddaughter, Nicole Marie (Wagner) Gonzalez, Sterling, IL; step-great-grandson, Charlie Hunter, Rock Falls, great-great-great-grandson, Cameron Gabriel Gonzalez and great-great granddaughter, Olivia Nicole Gonzalez, both of Sterling.
The family would like to extend a special ' thank-you' to Dr. Bruce Higinbothom, Dr. David Delaplane, Lisa Creggar, nurse and staff of Abingdon Family Health Care Center, Johnston Memorial CCU and Valley Health Care Center and would like to recognize his special friends for faithful deeds over the past several years, Troy and Dorothy Allen, Carrie Blevins, Clara Blevins, Charlotte Carter, Rev. Cecil Clifton, Alberta Copenhaver, Claude and Elaine Counts, Roy and Teresa Foglesong, Evelyn Sturgill and Pearl Wimmer.

Ernest Franklin Ryburn
ERNEST FRANKLIN (FRANK) RYBURN, 74, of Abingdon, formerly of Glade Spring, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004. He was a longtime resident of Washington County and was a member of Old Glade Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a deacon, elder, teacher, and superintendent of Sunday School . Mr. Ryburn had previously taught at the Washington County Technical School , and was supervisor of maintenance for the Washington County School System at his retirement. After retiring, Frank was a consultant for Can Engineering. Mr. Ryburn had served in the U.S. Army, and was a high school football official for 27 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Willie Mae Ryburn, and a brother, Robert Earle Ryburn.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Irene (Bobbie) Ryburn; his daughters, Vicky R. Fleenor, and Carla Allen and her husband, David, all of Bristol, VA; three grandchildren, Jessica Lee Allen, Kalyn Olivia Allen, and Logan Luther Allen; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Stacy Mink McCray
Stacy Mink McCray was born May 17, 1974 and would have been 30 years old this year.
She was a 1992 graduate of Abingdon High School. During her school years, Stacy was active with sports as a cheerleader. Stacy attended the Gospel Tabernacle Church early in her life. It was here that she was first saved and baptized. She had also attended the Mount Carmel Christian Church.
Stacy is survived by her beautiful daughter, Chelsea Brianne McCray, age 10, who was the love of her life; her mother, Nancy Crosswhite Mink of Abingdon; her father, Ronnie Mink of Abingdon; maternal grandmother, Nadine Crosswhite Kessee of Meadowview, VA; her aunts and uncles, Ralph & Rita Crosswhite of Meadowview; Wayne (Tank) & Tannis Crosswhite of Meadowview, Jimmy & Ruth Mink of Abingdon, Shirley Brooks of Chattanooga, TN, David & Emily Kestner of Hopewell, VA, and Barbara Bingham of Richmond, VA; a nephew, Nick Boardwine of Abingdon, a very special cousin, Duwana Mann of Richmond, VA and Donald E. McCray, Jr., who is Chelsea' s father.
A memorial service for Stacy will be conducted at 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 17, 2004 in the Gospel Tabernacle Church on Enterprise Road with Pastor Tim Norris and Rev. John Suit officiating. A private burial service will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to thank everyone for all their thoughts, prayers and acts of kindness over the past 2 years. Danny Guy McElraft
Danny Guy McElraft, age 42, died Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was preceded in death by his parents, Joe K. and Irene Ray McElraft.

Bernice Lilly
Bernice Lilly, age 90, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2004 in the Bristol Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Rosemont Presbyterian Church, Bristol, TN, and was retired from Burlington Industries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. and Etta Counts Lilly; and two brothers, Okley and A.J. Lilly.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Brewer, and her husband, Michael, of Bristol, TN, a brother, J. B. Lilly, Dublin, VA, a sister, Gertrude Alt, Bristol, TN, a granddaughter, Megan Brewer.
The graveside service will be conducted Monday, December 20, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum at Knollkreg Memorial Park with Rev. Alan Chapman officiating.
Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park.

David Wayne Jennelle
DAVID WAYNE JENNELLE, age 63, of Abingdon, formerly of Konnarock Virginia and Fairfax Virginia, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2004 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Myrtle Jennelle of Konnarock; brothers, James Myron and Zayne Durwood Jennelle; sisters, Marie Laxton, Virginia Watson, and Regina Jennelle.
Mr. Jennelle is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Delta ' Louise' Jennelle; 2 sons, David Wayne Jennelle, Jr., and his wife, Sheila, of Centreville, VA and Rodney Edward Jennelle, of Woodbridge, VA; one daughter, Sheila Marie Strouth, of Fairfax, VA; three grandchildren, Kevin Strouth, Courtney Jennelle, and Austin Jennelle; one brother, Floyd Colin Jennelle, and his wife, Audrey, of Canton, PA; two sisters, Lillian Unruh and her husband, Art, and Christine Cullop, of Elverson, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 2pm at Azen Baptist Church in Konnarock, VA with Pastors Jim Lundy and Bennie Harris officiating. Interment in Azen Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main St., Abingdon, VA and also one hour before (1pm) the service at the church on Tuesday.
Jesse Lee Hatfield
JESSE LEE HATFIELD, 94, of Brooksville, Florida, passed away December 17, 2004 at his home. He was born July 18, 1910 in Mingo County, WV. His wife of 38 years, Vera Felker Hatfield preceded him in death.
Mr. Hatfield is survived by one son, James D. Hatfield, of Lancaster, PA; two daughters, Mary Hatfield Dail, and Hannah Hatfield, both of Brooksville, FL; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Monday, December 20, 2004 at Brewer Funeral Chapel in Brooksville, FL.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at 2pm at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Macel Ely officiating.
Patricia Lambert Howell
Mrs. Patricia Lambert Howell, age 70, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tennessee.
Born on February 7, 1934 in New York state, she was a daughter of the late Robert Hayden Lambert and Edith Vail Lambert. Patricia was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hugh Lambert and a sister, Barbara Lounsbury. She and her husband had made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she was employed by the Tulsa Union School System. After moving here, she had worked at Gordon Garment for over 17 years. Patricia was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, David Howell; a son, Wayne Emmert and wife Kathy of Bluff City, TN; two daughters, Debbie Rosenbalm of Bluff City, TN and Jackie Carrier and husband J. H. of Bristol, TN; a brother, Tom Lambert and wife Julia of Bluff City, TN; two sisters, Marion Yetter and husband Warren of Charlotte, NC and Sandra Montague and husband Angelo of Middlesboro, NY; four grandchildren, Chris Hudson, Tina Leonard, Mandy Whaley and Lisa Pack; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 27, 2004 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens) 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon with Pastor Armand Jalbert officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be James Surber, Ronnie Trivett, Alan Holbrook, Bobby Emmert, Nathan Lambert, Charles Hudson, Todd Lambert and Dennis Welch. Honorary casket bearer will be Richard Welch.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service or any time at the home of her daughter, Debbie Rosenbalm of Bluff City, TN.
Raymond Eugene Harris
Mr. Raymond Eugene Harris, age 80 passed away Saturday, December 25, 2004 at the NHC Healthcare Center in Bristol.
Born on July 12, 1924 in Russell County, VA, Raymond was a son of the late Tanner Harris and Lula Florence Monk Harris. He had lived most of his life in the Bristol, VA area. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Virginia Counts Harris and was a member of Central Christian Church. Raymond was a retired salesman. He had been employed by Valleydale Meats for many years and retired from the Hamilton Meat Company in Johnson City, TN. Raymond was a WW II Veteran having served in the U. S. Navy.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Morrell and husband Curtis of Bristol, TN; a son, Jerry Harris and wife Carolyn of Bristol, VA; three grandchildren, Justin Morrell, Allison Morrell and Catherine Harris; four brothers, Charles Harris and wife Helen; Henry Harris and wife, Peggy; Don Harris and wife Betty; and Jack Harris and wife Linda; a sister-in-law, Mary Helen Counts Dodson and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the Graveside in Knollkreg Memorial Park with Dr. Ross Dampier officiating. Interment will follow the service. Military Rites will be conducted by the Highlands Fellowship Honor Color Guard.
Casket bearers will be selected from friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 \endash 1:30 P.M. Tuesday before the service at the funeral home. Friends and family may call at the funeral home at any time to sign the guest register.

Ted Andrew Wallace
TED ANDREW WALLACE, 72, of Glade Spring, passed away at his home, Wednesday, December 29, 2004 after a 12 year battle with cancer. Mr. Wallace was a member of Washington Springs United Methodist Church and attended Church of New Beginnings. He was a lay speaker for the United Methodist Church, and had traveled 15+ years with the Lay Witness Mission Team. He was a member of Highlands Emmaus Community, and had a deep love for his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Wallace; sons, Andy Wallace and wife, Kim, of Chilhowie, and Jeff Wallace and wife, Suzanne, of Glade Spring; 2 daughters, Ginger Clark, and husband, Joe, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and Pam Greene and husband, Adren, of Morristown, Tennessee; one brother, Lonnie Wallace and wife, Christine, of Glade Spring; brothers-in-law Bill Dodge of Waynesboro, and Bobby Cuddy, of Meadowview; sister-in-law Irene Wallace, of Abingdon; grandchildren, Katie and Emily Clark, Ava, Abbie, Luke, Levi, and Eli Wallace, and Katerina Greene; special nephews, Doug and Nick Wallace; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cowan, Dr. Sue Prill, the staff of Blue Ridge Medical, and Wellmont Hospice, especially Lee Rasnake, for their loving care.

Ernest J. Millsap
MR. ERNEST J. "SHERMAN" MILLSAP, age 71, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Abingdon and had lived in Washington County, Virginia until moving to Bristol in 1962. He was a member of the Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church and was a retired truck driver. Sherman was a member of the Whiteside Masonic Lodge #13, the Jericho Temple, A.A.D.N.M.S., a life member of the VFW Post #3382, the Woodmen of the World and the Loyal Order of Moose #972.

SHARON LOUISE QUESENBERRY, 61, of Abingdon, formerly of Northern Virginia, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Quesenberry; her stepson, Greg Quesenberry; and two brothers, Bruce Miller, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Bill Miller, of Denver, Colorado.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2004 at 11am at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
James W. Ketron
Mr. James W. Ketron, age 86, passed away Friday, December 31, 2004 in the Cambridge House.
Jim had lived a lot of his life in Russell County, VA and was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Ketron. He was a former employee of C & P Telephone of Virginia.
Survivors include a sister and her husband, Louise and Fred Ring, Lake City, Florida, several nieces and nephews.
A cryptside service will be conducted Monday, January 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the mausoleum at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, VA. There will be no visitation in the funeral home. Those attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Ruby Mae Barlow
Ruby Mae Barlow, 79, of Damascus, passed away December 31, 2004 after a short illness. She was originally from West Virginia, and had moved to Damascus in 2001 to be with her daughter. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckeley, WV. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Swank and his nurse, Diane Wise, and to the nursing staff of Side One and therapists, Candy and Robin at Grace Health Care. Also, a special thanks to Margaret Vest, Mrs. Barlow' s caregiver.
Melda Howery Self
MELDA HOWERY SELF, 84, of Painter Creek Road, Bristol, TN went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2004 at Bristol Wellmont House in Bristol, TN. She was born August 13, 1920 in Iaeger, WV to the late Sylvester Clay and Sally Graham McKinney. She had lived most of her life in Iaeger, WV and McDowell County, and had moved to Bristol, TN 10 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, S.C. McKinney, Hugh McKinney, and Joe McKinney, and her husband, Carl Self of Kimball, WV. Mrs. Self graduated from Iaeger High School and Marshall University with a Master' s degree in Elementary and Special Education. She retired with the McDowell County School System with 42 years service, and was a proud teacher.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kay Osborne, of Bristol, TN, Sandy Maniskas and her husband, Nick, and Darlene Buskirk and her husband, Les, all of Logan, OH; seven grandchildren, T.J. Osborne and wife Angie, Karla Rowe and husband Jason, Kelly Frances and husband Steve, Tracey Hadley and husband Tom, Kevin Dunnigan and wife Jackie, Natalie Vargo, and Shannon Vargo; six great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Sutphin of Iaeger, WV, and one brother, Charles McKinney of Columbus, OH; special friends, Susie Day of Bristol, TN, and Betty Rowe of Richlands, VA., and several nieces and nephews.
A mausoleum service will be held Monday, January 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV, with Don Morgan officiating.

George H. Larson
Mr. George H. Larson, age 78, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2004, in Manatee Memorial Hospital. George had lived in Meadowview for several years before moving to Bradenton, Florida in 1989. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II, a Mason, a Ranger at Peridia Golf Club, a lifetime member of the American Legion Kirby Stewart Post #24 and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He retired as a engineer with Bell South.
He is survived by His wife, Twilah Larson; Sons, Jeffrey Larson and wife, Tara of Raleigh, NC, Mark Larson and wife, Kathleen of Sarasota, Fla.; A daughter Connie Harder and husband, Gerald of Vacaville, Calif.; A sister, Dorthea Thompson of Christmas Valley, Ore.; Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, May 14, 2005, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Robert Thornton officiating.
