FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. - Billy Gene Dove, 73, of 280 Greenmeadows Circle died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at Hillcrest Hospital. Born in Pound, Va.,. he was the son of Oscar and Nannie Goad Dove. He was a member of Emmanuel Praise and Worship Center, served in the U.S. Army and was a retired surface miner.
Surviving are his wife, Lorene Dale Dove; one daughter, Cathy Snow of Fountain Inn; one son, Dale Dove of Simpsonville; one sister, Betty Cantrell of Pound; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be Friday in Fountain Inn.

Mary Ann Greene of Bristol Tennessee, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Huntersville, N.C. She was a native of Meadowview and lived most of her life in the Bristol area. She was the daughter of the late Isaiah and Lucy Frazier Wheeler. She was a former employee of L.C. King Co. She was a member of the Marthina Memorial Chapel and she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ewing Travis; and her second husband, Clay Greene; a daughter, Nancy Jean Travis; and a brother, Jimmy Travis.
Survivors include daughter, Patsy Ann Rosenbalm Philemon, Huntersville; son, Ewing S. Travis Jr., Bristol Tennessee; two sisters, Maude Cross, Bristol Tennessee, and Ruth Jones, Bristol Virginia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; special step-grandson, Mike Hodge; and special friends, Tony and Carolyn Campbell and Larry and Glenna Reynolds.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Weaver Funeral Home.

MEADOWVIEW - Mr. Jack David Hale, 76, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002. He was a lifelong resident of Meadowview. He was a member of Meadowview United Methodist Church and Glade Spring Masonic Lodge 230. He had been employed with Washington Motor Company/Pioneer Chevrolet for 45 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hancock Hale.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debbie Hale, Mark Hale and Chris and Mary Jess Hale, all of Abingdon; brother and sister-in-law, C.B. and Jean Hale of Abingdon; grandchildren, Brad Hale, Jennifer Hale and Carlee Hale; and very special friend, Patsy Henegar of Abingdon.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Katie Fox officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The committal service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Mount Rose Cemetery, Glade Spring. Those wishing to attend the committal service should meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Thursday for the funeral procession.

CLINTWOOD - Estelle M. Mullins, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport.
A lifelong resident of Dickenson County, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Lilly Powers Mullins, and the widow of Tom Mullins. Mrs. Mullins was a member of Flemingtown Freewill Baptist Church and a retired nurse from Dickenson Clinic in Clintwood.
Surviving are her son, Tommy Mullins and daughter-in-law, Versie, Clintwood; daughter, Elizabeth Payne, Clintwood; sister, Margie Vanover, Clintwood; four grandchildren, Teresa Stanley, Jerome Buchanan and wife Rebecca, Tammy C. Mullins and Michele Renee Buchanan; great- grandchildren, Eric Lee Mullins and wife Pam and Crystal Stanley; and great-great-grandchildren, Gracie Marie Rose-Carter and Brett Mullins.

Jack Talmage Musick
Jack T. Musick, 75, 2333 Shakesville Road, Bristol, Va., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Russell County, Va., a son of the late Talmage and Tina Thompson Musick. Mr. Musick was a self-employed concrete finisher, an avid hunter and trader and a member of Shakesville Tabernacle Church.
Survivors include his children, Jack L. Chapman, Danny Holt, Donnita A. Frith and husband Eddie, Jewel T. Mae Musick and Ray Ellison; sisters, Belle Dishner and Mae Woods; brother, Carl Musick; 10 grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

DUBLIN, Va. - Frances Warren Stroupe, 84, of 353 Vaughn Ave., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, in the New River Valley Medical Center, Radford. She was born on July 20, 1918, in Glade Spring (Washington County) and was the daughter of the late William F. Warren and Martha Lloyd Warren. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Dublin Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Warren and Earl Warren.
Surviving are her husband, Morgan P. Stroupe, Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Knapp, Dublin; son, William M. Stroupe, Kissimmee, Fla.; three grandchildren and spouses, Robert and Kristi Stroupe, Fort Wayne, Ind., Shelly and Mike Ardt, Indiana, and Max Allen Krause, Fort Wayne; and six great-grandchildren.

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. - William Claude Tester, 92, of 919 Medical Park Drive, formerly of 1091 Sandy Road, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at the Mountain City Care Center after an extended illness. Mr. Tester was a native of Johnson County and a son of the late Stacy and Alice Mains Tester. He was a member of Locust Gap Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Dallie Triplett Tester, Sept. 24, 1965; one son, Billy Glenn Tester, April 8, 1945; one daughter, Arlene Tester Burgess, July 7, 1999; two grandsons, Terry Marilock, May, 1997, and D.C. Burgess, July, 1983; two brothers, Jack and Robert Tester; and four sisters, Zilda Mains, Connie McElyea, Lucy Arnold and Blanch Morefield.
Survivors: five daughters, Margie Trivette, Bristol Tennessee, Christine and husband Jack Marilock, Kingsport, Jean Lewis, Mountain City, Lois Tester, Mountain City and Joyce and husband Jack Bradley, Butler, Tenn.; two sons, Robert "Bob" and wife Mary Tester, Trade, Tenn., and Dennis and wife Jeannie Tester, Trade; two sisters, Nell and husband Duff Arnold, Mountain City and Sally Blevins, Michigan; one brother, George Tester, Havre de Grace, Md., 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

DAMASCUS - Earleen R. Campbell, 77, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at her residence. She was a native of Johnson County, Tenn., and had lived in Damascus most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosie Rupard; her husband, Hubert Campbell; and two sisters, Hazel Noland and Shirley Jean Winters. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Damascus Volunteer Rescue Squad Women's Auxiliary and the Damascus Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Campbell of Damascus; one daughter, Cathy Canody and her husband Doug of Abingdon; two grandchildren, Miranda Canody of Blacksburg, Va., and Zachary Canody of Abingdon; three sisters, Grace Rupard of Laurel Bloomery, Tenn., Beulah Robinson of Mountain City, Tenn., and Margaret Lewis and her husband, Wayne of Bristol Tennessee; two brothers, Hoover Rupard and his wife Doris and Dean Rupard and his wife Janet, both of Laurel Bloomery; and several nieces and nephews. BLUFF CITY - Mrs. Winnie M. Hodges, 83, formerly of 361 Timber Ridge Road, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Hodges was a native and lifelong resident of Sullivan County. She was a daughter of the late Noah and Mollie Lyons Watson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskel L. Hodges in 1991; a son, Hal H. Hodges; five brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Harvey Jessee of Bluff City; one grandson and wife, Chad and Michelle Jessee of Bluff City; one granddaughter, Melisa Jessee of Bluff City; one great-granddaughter, Alanna Hutchins of Bristol Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, in the Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Fred Potter and Rev. Elbert Nichols officiating. BIG STONE GAP - Robin Sue Mullins, 34, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport. She was a 1986 graduate of J.I. Buron High School in Norton and she received her associate degree in nursing from Mountain Empire Community College in 1997. She was a registered nurse with Norton Community Hospital. Robin attended the Trinity Life Center in Tacoma, Va. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Amy Lynn Jackson. She is survived by her husband, Kevin Mullins; two sons, Tre' and Ty Mullins; a stepdaughter, Alyssa Mullins; her parents, Mike and Wilma Jackson of Norton; brother, Todd Jackson, Norton; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Collins; as well as a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

BRISTOL - Mildred J. Sams, 77, of 100 Moore St., Bristol, Va., died Friday at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Sams was a native of Sullivan County, Tenn., and was the widow of George C. Sams. She attended First Freewill Baptist Church. She had been a paralegal for many years for the law office of H.G. Peters and for the last eight years had been the assistant at Girls Inc. through an organization called "Experience Works". She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends, staff and girls at Girls Inc.
Survivors include two nieces, Joyce Martin of Brandon, Fla., and Jill Weber of Virginia Beach, Va.; two great-nephews; four great-nieces; several great-great-nieces and nephews; and several cousins.

ABINGDON - Mr. Mack Joseph Stiltner, 51, a former Buchanan County resident and coal operator, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mack was a loving husband, father, son and brother. His hobbies included racing and golf. He was a strong supporter of many charitable organizations and events.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilmer Stiltner; and two brothers, Douglas Ersel Stiltner and Clifford Stiltner.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Sue Keene Stiltner of Abingdon; two sons, Joseph LeeDean Stiltner and Jason Heath Stiltner, both of Abingdon; his mother, Lillie Ramsey Stiltner of Grundy; three brothers, Hansel A. Stiltner of Mountain City, Tenn., Clarence Edward Stiltner of Grundy and Ervin Stiltner of Abingdon; four sisters, Mervil Rowe of Abingdon, Mrs. Franklin (Geneva) Stiltner of Grundy, Mrs. Donald (Brenda) Ashby of Grundy and Mrs. Jay (Downeda) Wallace of Abingdon; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, at 8 p.m. in the First Christian Church of Abingdon with ministers, Donald Ashby, Mike McCoy, J.C. Anderson and Richard Gaminde. A committal service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Knollkreg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. and following the service at the church. Family and friends are to meet at the funeral home by 12:35 p.m. Tuesday for a procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Keene, Brian Mitchell, Jay Wallace, Bob Steele, Hank Matney, Roger Widner, Morgan Clifton, Keith Stiltner and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Elswick, Franklin Elswick, Jeff Wallace, Clyde Stacy, Sam Blankenship, Bill Henry Miller, Jim McGlothlin, James (Jim) Bunn, Jerry Skeens, Bob Cole, Jim Cook, Elmer Bare, Johnny Bare, Johnny Matney and Michael Ramey.
