SUMMERFIELD, Fla. - Doris Irene Godbey, 76, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, in the Life Care Center of Ocala, Ocala, Fla.
She was a native of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and had lived in Walters, Okla.
She was a retired buyer for Sears and had been a model in Oklahoma City for many years.
She loved bowling and water skiing.
She was a member of the Ocala Word of Faith in Ocala.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Godbey of Summerfield; and one sister, Agnes Brinker of Walters.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Knollkreg Memorial Park, Abingdon, on Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating.
Burial will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park.

Committal services for Grace Darrell Meade Godsey will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Godsey, 83, of Bristol Tennessee, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center.

LEESVILLE, La. - Visitation for Robert G. "J-Hi" Hill will be Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Haysi Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Gary Hill officiating. A graveside service will be Friday at noon at the J.C. Fleming Cemetery at Hill Ridge, Route 1, Clintwood. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Hill, age 41, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, in Byrd Regional Hospital following an automobile accident. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
R. K. Lowry Jr.
ABINGDON - Robert Keller Lowry Jr. (R.K.), 92, of the Green Spring Community, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at his home.
He was the eldest son of the late Robert Keller Lowry Sr. and the late Bessie Ritchie Lowry. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles David Lowry. He was a life-long resident of the Green Spring Community and a member of the Green Spring Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder for many years. He was a life-long farmer and a real estate broker for 50 years. He was a member of the Abingdon Masonic Lodge, No. 48, a charter member of the Green Spring Fire Department and a charter member of the Green Spring Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy Gray Lowry of the home; five children: a son, Robert Keller Lowry III (Bobby) and wife Anne; three daughters, Elean Lowry Hutton and husband Charles, Mary Jane Crosby and Susan E. Lowry, all of Abingdon; three grandsons, Charles W. Hutton Jr., Mark Lowry Hutton and Robert Keller Lowry IV; one granddaughter, Catherine Gray Bigham; one great-granddaughter, Sumer B. Lowry; several nieces and nephews; and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Daphne Lowry.
The family would like to thank Candy and Lee Fields, Tena Rhea and the Total Home Care/Hospice caregivers.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Green Spring Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Larry Chapin and Dr. Jack Snider officiating.
Burial will be in the family plot at the Green Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery immediately following the funeral services.
Pallbearers will be Jack Abel, Bucky Buchanan, Billy Bob Byars, John Kelly Clark, Ricky Hall, Blair Keller, Cliff McConnell and Tommy McConnell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Brown, Edwin Brown, the elders and deacons of the Green Spring Presbyterian Church and members of the Green Spring Volunteer Fire Department.

NORTON - Charlene McDaniel Miller, 73, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Norton Community Hospital, Norton.
She was a former cook at Norton Community Hospital and at several local restaurants. She attended the Esserville Freewill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell C. Miller.
Surviving are one son, Randall Miller and wife, Cathy of Johnson City; one daughter, Teresa Jo Gilliam of Wise; four grandchildren, Stacey Gilliam and Rocky Gilliam, both of Knoxville, and Erich Davis and Tommy Davis, both of Wise; and three great-grandchildren, Cassie Gilliam, Hannah Davis and Makayla Gilliam.
Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Friday at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Wise, with Pastor Jimmy Smith officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Gilliam Cemetery, Wise, with Rev. David Nidiffer officiating. Lloyd A. Miller
Lloyd Arnold Miller, 87, 1106 Seventh Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tenn. He was a native of Knoxville and the son of the late Alfred and Linda McNabb Miller. He was a retired mechanic with Mason Dixon and E.T. & W.N.C. Trucking, a World War II Army veteran having served in the European and Pacific Theaters. He was a Past Commander of Bluff City V.F.W. Post, a member of Zollicoffer Masonic Lodge, a Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner and a member of the Eastern Star. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred Eleanor Miller and a daughter, Dorathea Miller.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jane Combs, Rogersville, Tenn., and Anita Louise Lynch, Smyrna, Tenn.; and a half sister, Opel Nunez, Bristol Virginia. Also surviving are four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday in Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Richard Cassidy officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Patton-Crosswhite V.F.W. Post 6975. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service on Friday in the Mausoleum.

CHILHOWIE - Freeman Lee "Boxie" Mutter Sr., 29, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at his home.
He was the son of Mary Cregger Mutter and the late James A. Mutter Sr.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Vanover Mutter; one daughter, Martha Mutter, Chilhowie; one son, Freeman Lee Mutter Jr., Chilhowie; one sister, Janet Hess, Ceres, Va.; two brothers, James A. Mutter Jr., Glade Spring and Ricky Mutter, (Wideners Valley), Glade Spring.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Gravely officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery, Ceres. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral services at the funeral home.

CLINTWOOD - Jackie L. Phipps, 67, died at Dickenson County Medical Center on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002.
A lifelong resident of Dickenson County, he was the son of the late Roley and Alma Phipps. Jackie was retired from Dickenson County School System after 37 years of service at Ervinton High School.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Phipps; two sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Ray Phipps and his wife Janie, and Shawn Phipps, all of Clintwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam Phipps and her husband Raymond, Clintwood, and Heather Robinson and her husband Steve of Kingsport; a brother, Sidney Phipps, Clintwood; three sisters, Frances Hollyfield, Wise, Veronica Fulkerson, Kingsport and Jequita Smith, Clintwood; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Jacklyn and Elijah.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, from the Clintwood Funeral Home with Minister Lynn Vanover officiating. Burial will follow in the family Cemetery, Route 2, Clintwood. SALTVILLE - Mr. Charles L. "San" Price Sr., 62, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Survivors: two sons, Charles L. "Sandy" Price Jr., Saltville and Craig Price, Saltville; one daughter, Sandra Burgess, Saltville; seven brothers, Dean Price, Glade Spring, Kent Price, Franklin Price, J.D. Price, Melvin Price, Ralph Price and Bobby Price, all of Saltville; two sisters, Lucille Harper, Kentucky, and Rosa Sykes, Lebanon; and four grandchildren, Kory Burgess and Morgan Burgess, Saltville, and Jacqueline Surber and Jennifer Surber, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Henderson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. just prior to the service. D.R. Henderson Funeral Home of Saltville is serving the family.
Margie B. Thompson
GRUNDY - Margie Belcher Thompson, 82 years of age of the Home Creek section of Route 1, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at the Buchanan General Hosital following an extended illness.
Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Epp and Martha Potter Belcher. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of the New Zion Freewill Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel Preston (Sam) Thompson of Route 1, Grundy; seven daughters, Mrs. Dorothy McClanahan of Route 1, Grundy, Mrs. Marsh (Brenda) Lee of Route 1, Grundy, Mrs. Larry (Betty) Clevinger of Route 1, Grundy; Ms. J.R. (Joann) Duty of Route 1, Grundy, Mrs. Jodi (Lydia) Morris of Route 1, Grundy, Mrs. Richard (Peggy) McClanahan of Hurley, Va., and Mrs. Tim (Patricia) Blue of Florence, S.C.; eight sons, Bailey and his wife Phyllis Thompson of Kemper, Ky., Charles and his wife Clara Thompson of Big Rock, Va., Harold Thompson of Route 1, Grundy, Roger Thompson of Johnson City, Tenn., Jerry and his wife Peggy Thompson of Florence, S.C., Pal and his wife Pam Thompson of Route 1, Grundy, James Thompson of Route 1, Grundy and Danny Ray and his wife, Donna Thompson of Route 1, Grundy; three sisters, Alice Ramey of Portsmouth, Va.,. Melster Freeman of Georgia, and Ruth Ann Carty of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Edgar Belcher of Columbus and Eugene Belcher of Palatka, Fla. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two special care givers, Olivia Kerr and Bev Colley.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Faye McCoy on March 10, 1981; and one sister, May Goff.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at the New Zion Freewill Baptist Church with Ministers E.C. Honaker, Jimmy Kerr, Mike Casey and Jerry Edwards officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park at Big Rock.
Friends may call at the New Zion Freewill Baptist Church after 5 p.m. Thursday and there will be evening services Thursday and Friday evenings at 7 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be grandsons.

BIRCHLEAF, Va. - Darlene O. Church, 69, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of Peggy Conaway O'quinn and the late Corbett O'quinn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack J. Church; and three brothers, Jerry, Harlan and Vada O'quinn.
In addition to her mother, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dennis Owens of Birchleaf; one grandson, Brian Ray Owens; six sisters, Dora Church and Hazel Hackney, both of Birchleaf, Betsy Cantrell of Pikeville, Ky., Mazie Wood and Helen Rose, both of Haysi, and Cathy Sykes of Clintwood; and three brothers, Teddy O'quinn and Larry J. O'quinn, both of Birchleaf, and Jackie O'quinn of Haysi; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Andy Deel, Mark Justice, Ralph Mullins and Toy Looney officiating.
