Elsie Clara McGlothlin
RAVEN, Va. - Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Clara McGlothlin will be conducted Monday, July 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Rev. James Salyers officiating. Interment will follow at McGlothlin Family Cemetery on Road Ridge near Raven. Grandsons, great-grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. McGlothlin, 86, of the Road Ridge section passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002, at home following a lengthy illness.
Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands is in charge of arrangements.

William Jeffery Olinger
SALTVILLE - William Jeffery "Jeff" Olinger, age 46, died at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.

The funeral service for Marie Elaine Oxendine will be private. Entombment will be in Glenwood Cemetery Babyland.
The infant daughter of Amthyst Smith and James Oxendine of Bristol Virginia, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Johnson City Medical Center.

Jason Andrew Renfro
NORTON - Jason Andrew Renfro, age 24, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, as a result of crush injuries received in a farming accident in Christiansburg, Va. He was a 1996 graduate of J.I. Burton High School in Norton. He attended Mountain Empire Community College from 1996-99, where he received an associate degree in forestry. In 2002, he graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of science degree in wildlife management. He was an avid outdoorsman, horseman, fisherman, hunter and he loved farming.
Surviving are parents, Dr. Thomas and "Sid" Renfro, Coeburn and Kimberly Deur, Norfolk; half-sister, Kayla Deur, Norfolk; grandmother, Mildred Rhudy Renfro, Norton; grandparents, Carl and Nancy Sturgill, Wise and Rev. Glen and Bessie Sturgill, Norton; uncle, Rhudy Renfro, Charlottesville, Va.; and special close friends and college roommates, George Hunnicutt III, Elijah Roop and Jason Dotson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home Chapel in Norton. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Freedom of Worship Church with Revs. Glen Sturgill, Robbie Fultz and Eddie Fultz officiating. Burial will be in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Freedom of Worship Church, P.O. Box 386, Norton, VA 24273 with attention to "Jason's Missions," which is a youth oriented outreach to foreign countries needing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Rowe, 86, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center following a long illness.

ABINGDON - The funeral service for Mr. Earnest N. Tedder will be conducted Monday, July 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Mr. John Tilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Richard Lawson, Larry Mazza, Jerry Mazza, Mike Lilly, Kenneth Lilly and Brent Fleenor.
Those attending the service Monday may assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. for the procession to the cemetery.
Mr. Tedder, 98, died Friday, July 5, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.

RICHMOND - Funeral services for Samuel DeWayne Turner will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2002, at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Franklin Viers and Joel Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson-Turner Cemetery, Route 2, Haysi. Pallbearers will be David Turner, Billy Newton, Mike Earls, Jack Earls II, Jack Earls III and Peter Earls.
Mr. Turner, 26, of Gold Finch Drive passed away Thursday, July 4, 2002, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond.

John R. Widener
GLADE SPRING - John R. Widener, age 76, died Saturday, July 6, 2002, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Va., and was a farmer. He had attended the Glade Hills Church of God in Glade Spring.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barlow Widener; one daughter, Olivene Yarber of Glade Spring; one son, Carter Widener of Glade Spring; three sisters, Helen Compton of Chesapeake, Va., and Maggie Thomas and Margie Stanley, both of Glade Spring; four brothers, Marvin Widener of High Point, N.C., Alfred Widener of Damascus, James Widener of Konnarock, Va., and Cecil Junior Widener of Meadowview; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2002, in the Glade Hills Church of God with Rev. J.L. DeBord officiating. Burial will follow in Rush Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Yarber, Jeff Widener, Michael Barlow, Daniel Gregory, Jonathan Chapman and Tim Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be J.R. Tim Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Cove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Blevins, Martin Klapac, Kyle Klapac, Ronald Wyatt, Roger Layman and Tommy Waters. Stuart Fields
LEBANON - Stuart H.C. Fields, 70, passed away at home Saturday, July 13, 2002. He was born in Lebanon, a son of the late John and Goldie McGraw Fields. He was an active volunteer and elder of Mt. Olive Christian Church. He also served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. Stuart was the owner of Norfield Cabinets in Lebanon for 40 years. A brother, Thomas Fields, and a sister, Lena Fields, also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Fields; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Fields and Teddy Rasnake and Linda and Frank Fogleman, all of Lebanon; grandchildren, Craig Fogleman, Candida Rasnake and Travis Rasnake; great-grandchildren Winter Rasnake, Dakota Rasnake, Salvatore Agri, Nicholas Agri, Benjamin Destafano and Amanda Smith; brothers Martin Fields, Edgar Fields and Oscar Fields; sisters Ruby Alexander, Dora Kennedy and Francis Hensley; special brother-in-law, Hugh Kinsler; special daughter, Debbie Cannon; and special son, Charles Robert Fogleman.
Pallbearers will be Phyllip Campbell, Giles Thomas Fields, Charles Robert Fogleman, Vincent Alexander Jr. and Mike Waddel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Martin, Kenneth Alexander, Dewey Helton, Ramley Thomas, James Tignor, Oscar Crawford, Robert Kinsler, Charlie Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Tyler Kinsler, Sam Price and Anthony Campbell.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2002, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Christian Church, Lebanon, with Minister Paul Young amd Minister John Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens, Lebanon, with military graveside rites by Lebanon VFW Post 9864.

Leland Houser and Dr. Ross Dampier officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Weaver Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Morton, Bruce Morton, Mack Morton, Charlie Carver, Tom Morton, John Morton, Mike Gustafson, James Campbell, Frank Tate, Mike Tate, Gene Grubb and Earl Grubb. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.

Mr. Frazier, 76, of 110 Eagle View Drive died Friday after a brief illness at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

CASTLEWOOD - The funeral service for Thomas F. Johnson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2002, in Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Killen officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Sidney Johnson, Matthew Johnson, David Johnson, Mark Edmonds, W.J. Dorton Jr., Bobby Dorton, Ron Peltier, Dan Rush and Jerry Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be: men of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and Dr. Ernest Henry. William Mason
CHATHAM HILL, Va. - Mr. William "Bill" Maynard Davis Mason, 69, died Friday, July 12, 2002, at home.
He was born in Cheyenne, Wyo., where he resided until 1997 when he moved to Smyth County, Va. He was the son of the late Ernest and Wilma Davis Mason Fowler. He was also predeceased by a stepfather, Joe Fowler. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, where he served as corporal. Mr. Mason was a member of the Baptist church.
Survovors include two sons, John Mason of Chatham Hill and Will Mason of Walterboro, S.C.; one brother, Kenneth Mason of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and two half-sisters, Patricia Reed, Ch eyenne, Wyo., and Gail Weyers, Eagle, Neb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Ridgedale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernest Yeatts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Saltville VFW Post 7328 conducting military rites. The family will receive friends beginning at noon prior to the service.

Bobby Outlaw
Bobby Tom Outlaw, 68, of Bristol Virginia, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was born in Baldwyn, Miss., a son of the late Earl and Bernice Boren Outlaw, and lived in Bristol since 1970. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Delta State University of Cleveland, Miss., and attended graduate school at L.S.U. He retired as assistant scout executive of Sequoyah Council of Boy Scouts of America in 1999. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Men's Fellowship Class of the church. He was a volunteer at Bristol Regional Medical Center and was a consultant for the Watauga Eagle Squadron of Elizabethton, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Elliott Outlaw; two sons, Tom Outlaw of New Orleans, La., and Will Outlaw of Bristol Virginia; a sister, Betty Outlaw Coleman and her husband Sam of New Albany, Miss.; a brother, Dr. Henry Outlaw and his wife Brenda of Merigold, Miss.; a niece, Melany Hudson; a nephew, Hines Outlaw; two grand-nephews, Patrick Hudson and Hank Hudson; and three aunts, Christine Nichols, Catherine Wilson and Elizabeth Bennett.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Stancil officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Martin Alley, Earl Barbour, Ronald Cameron, Bob Cheers, Herb Clark, Pete Hostetler, Doug Mitchell, Harry Oakley and Rod Stipe. Honorary pallbearers will be Wallace Alley, Ken Brumit, the Men's Fellowship Class of First Baptist Church and the professional and office staff of the Sequoyah Council, B.S.A. and scouting friends.

Danny Smith Sr., 54, 1817 Tremont Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Sunday in the Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Quincy Stacy
TAZEWELL COUNTY - Mr. Quincy Stacy, 66, of the Baptist Valley section, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Lenoir, N.C., following a long illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Cora Charles Stacy. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Stacy and Burton Stacy.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth Stacy of Bristol Tennessee; three daughters, Mrs. Angela Harrison of Granite Falls, N.C., Mrs. Dinah Rowland of Morganton, N.C., and Mrs. Donna Hege of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Millard Stacy of Marion and Lonnie Ervin Stacy of Hurley, Va.; three sisters, America Charles of Ohio, Birdie Wise of Lebanon and Wadie Woods of Tazewell, Va.; a special friend, Sonny Rose of Baptist Valley; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 15, 2002, at 1 p.m. at the Singleton Funeral Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Walter Schwitzerlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Friends may call at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff after noon Monday.

Stephen Williams
Stephen (Steve) Woodson Williams, 49, of Bristol Virginia died Friday, July 12, 2002, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Bristol. He graduated from Virginia High School and attended King College. He was an employee of Hull Co. He was an active member of Three Springs United Methodist Church, where he held numerous jobs in the church. He was preceded in death by his father, J.P. Williams, in March 2000.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Byington Williams; one son, Stephen Woodson Williams Jr. of Bristol Virginia; one daughter, Angela Nicole Williams of Bristol Virginia; his mother, Anne Gilly Williams of Bristol Virginia; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Lorene Byington of Bristol Virginia. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2002, in the Chapel of Memories in Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Clarence Dishman and Mr. Roy Hull officiating. Entombment will follow in Glenwood Masoleum. Pallbearers will be Jim Byington, Tim Strickler, Scott Hale, Emory Hale, Tyson Hale, Eddie Necessary and Roy Hull. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Three Springs United Methodist Church, employees of Hull Co., Bob Williams and Randy Young. KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. - Ms. Eula Allio Andrews, age 73, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2002, in Stark, Fla.
She was a native of Pound, Va., and had been residing in Pound and also in Florida visiting her children for the past several years.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Gaglione, Keystone Heights, Tina Hallowell, Keystone Heights and Sylvia Colson, Floral City, Fla.; her son, Roy Sherman, Ocala, Fla.; her brothers, Ayers Allio, Hedgesville, W.Va.,. James Allio, Baltimore; her sisters, Aileen Edwards, Abingdon, Ethel Whitt, Front Royal, Va., Esther Allio, Florida, and Rose Edwards, Stark, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 4, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Larry Branham officiating. Interment will follow.
Those attending the service on Thursday are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Florence W. Cawood
BLUFF CITY - Graveside services for Florence W. Cawood will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crumley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Mrs. Cawood, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, July 1, 2002, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Helen Allen Davis
ABINGDON - Mrs. Helen Allen Davis died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at her home.
She was a member of the Saint Thomas Episcopal Church where she served on the Alter Guild for many years. She was also the founder of Dolls for Genevieve, a program that delivers dolls to ill and underprivileged children.
She was a graduate of Radford College with a B.A. in education.
She is survived by her husband, Russell Davis; a daughter, Anne Stuart D. Rumley and husband Jeff; and grandson, Davis Lane, all of Washington, N.C.; a son, John Russell and wife, Dawn of Richmond; a sister, Jane Allen Sink; and three nieces, Pam Schenk, Mary Lynn Yengst, Susan Gersky and their families, all of Roanoke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church (The Social Club), 124 E. Main St., Abingdon, VA 24210 or to Ecumenical Faith in Action (Stone Soup Food Pantry), P.O. Box 2419, Abingdon, VA 24212. Arrangements are pending at this time.
