RICHLANDS - Mr. Buster J. Lamie Sr., 79, passed away Friday, May 3, 2002, in a Richlands hospital following a long illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff.

Shirley Brown Leonard

Larry W. Livesay
BLOUNTVILLE - Larry W. Livesay, 60, of 318 Canterbury Drive passed away at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md., following an extended illness.
Born in Whitmire, S.C., Larry lived and worked in Athens, Ga., for eight years where he was vice-president of Electronic Wholesalers and Consolidated Cable Construciton Co. For the past 16 years, Larry worked in the Washington, D.C., area as president of Sycamore Shoals Communications, Inc. until his death.
Larry was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church in Kingsport. He served as a Mason with the Sinking Creek Masonic Lodge.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lloyd and Fannie Livesay, and a sister, Brenda Livesay.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Ann Livesay of Blountville; one son, Travis Alan Livesay of Blountville; one grandson, Tyler; one sister, Vauneva Jennings of Johnson City; four brothers, Joseph M. Livesay of Blackwater, Va., Lloyd D. Livesay of Blountville, William R. Livesay of Johnson City and Ronald B. Livesay of Hendersonville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2002, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating.
Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Donald D. Morrell
The funeral service for Donald D. Morrell will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Blevins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Charlton officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Veiw Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Kennedy, Bob Smith, Roy Andes, Fred Barr, Leon "Bud" Stedman, Douwi Bekaert, C.E. Jacobs and Allen Skeens.
Mr. Morrell, 61, of 408 Cheyenne Road, Bristol, Va., died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at home.
Arrangements especially for Mr. Morrell have been made through Blevins Funeral Home.

Bertie Price Sauls
SAN BERNADINO, Calif. - Committal services for Bertie Price Sauls will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Knollkreg Cemetery. E-mail condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuenralhome.net.
Mrs. Sauls, 79, went to be with God April 27, 2002, at home.

Mildred Woodruff
ST. PAUL - Funeral services for Mildred Woodruff will be conducted in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood Saturday, May 4, 2002, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Darrell Milgrim officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mrs. Woodruff, 78, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Norton Community Hospital in Norton.

ABINGDON - Funeral services for Ella Pearl Deel will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Frank Viers, Bobby Arrington, Garnell Gilbert and Joel Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery, Lebanon. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Deel, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon after a long illness.

Roy Herman Greer
Roy Herman Greer, 84, of 313 Emmett Way, Bristol, Tenn., died Thrusday, March 19, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area, born April 22, 1917, a son of the late John L. and Ethel Taylor Greer. Mr. Greer was a retired crane operator for Cortrim Hardwood Parts Co., an avid gardener and a member of First Church of God.
Mr. Greer was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Watson Greer.
He is survived by his children, Phyllis Snead and husband, Roy P. Snead, Barbara Greer, Robert Earl Greer and Johnny Dallas Greer and his wife, Diane Price Greer; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 21, 2002, at 8 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elmer Lester officiating. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Weaver Funeral Home.

Billy M. Hale
ANDERSON, S.C. - Mr. Billy M. Hale of 4605 Belton Highway, formerly of Richlands, died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at an Anderson nursing home.
He was born in Buchanan County, Va., and was a son of the late Larkin and Martha Kiser Hale. He was a graduate of Richlands High School and Roanoke Business College. He attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He retired as a radiologic technologist from Anderson Hospital with 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran and was stationed in Europe during the Berlin crisis. He was a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, a well-known fly fisherman, hiker and backpacker. He was an acclaimed artist of fly-tying and photography. He authored a chapter in the new book recently published about fly-tying techniques.
He was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lacie J. Hale.
He is survived by three sisters, Virginia Taylor of Anderson, Lucie Wholford of Blacksburg, Va., and Phyllis Smith of Anderson; and a brother, Carnese Hale of Honea Path, S.C.
A graveside service will be held Satuday, March 23, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Richlands with Rev. Frances Elrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 184, Fish Pond Project, c/o Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, SC 29621 or the Free Clinic in Honea Path, SC 29654.

Mars H. Hall
DANTE --Funeral services for Mars H. Hall will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood with the Rev. Claude Rose officiating. SWORDS CREEK, Va. - Mr. Clifford Lane, 88, passed away Teusday, March 19, 2002, in a Lebanon health care facility following a long illness.

Florence S. McClanahan passed away March 20, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Rufus W. Morrell
Funeral services for Rufus W. "R.W." Morrell will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Enterprise United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Theiben officiating, and Jack Necessary will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in White Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Roe, Jack Necessary, David Davenport, Homer Stout, Harold Phillips, Ed Smith, Jim Smith, Max Coates and John Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers are Bill McMinn, Dougles Morrell, Dr. Daniel Paul, members of Lindamood Sunday School Class and the men of the church. Mr. Morrell, 85, of 117 13th St., Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, March 18, 2002, at home.

Jeanette L. Reed
ABINGDON - Mrs. Jeanette L. Reed, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Wellmont Hospice. She was born in Ashe County, N.C., and had lived most of her life in Abingdon. She was the daughter of the late Emory and Nora Jones, and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Lee Reed. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Mike Reed Sr. of Greensboro, N.C., Charles R. Reed Sr. of Martinsville, Va., and Clarence Allen Reed of Goshen, Ind.; one daughter, Ruth Kennedy of Abingdon; one brother, Chester Jones of Damascus; one sister, Viola Rash of Abingdon; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, March 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Farris Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Denton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Charles Reed Jr., James Lee Reed, Caleb Reed, Scott Hodgin, Bobby Mike Reed Jr. and Paul Kennedy Jr. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wellmont Hospice, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, TN 37620.

Marie South
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Marie South, 91, passed away Friday, March 15, 2002, in Fountain Valley Regional Medical Center, Fountain Valley, Calif. She was a native of Washington County, Va., and has lived in Fremont, Calif., for the past 40 years, before moving to Huntington Beach in 1997. She was a duaghter of the late Jesse and Virginia Lane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Glen South, in 1994. Mrs. South was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie Roto and her husband, David, of Huntington Beach and Margaret South of Costa Mesa, Calif.; one son, Robert G. South of Fremont; one sister, Lucy Walls of Williamsburg, Va.; two brothers, Jesse Clayton Lane of North Carolina and Clifton Lane of South St. Petersburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews,
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, in Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan McCullough officiating. The burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.
