PRATT, Kan. - Donald J. Dick, 64, died Jan. 18, 2003, in Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt.
Born in Halstead, Kans., he was the son of Edward Dick and Ruth E. Kreitzburg. He had been a resident of Pratt since 1970 and was a retired biologist for Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks with 32 years of service. He was a member of Pratt Friends Church in Pratt and retired from the Air National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Adcock; one son, Jamie Dick, Abingdon; one daughter, Debbie J. Phillips, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; one brother, Dale Dick of Halstead; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Pratt.
Memorials may be sent to Wild Trust at Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

NORTON - Gladys M. Flanary, 94, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Norton Community Hospital. She was the widow of Worley Flanary and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Flanary Bruce. She was a member of the West Norton FWB Church at Dorchester. Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Joan Flanary and Jack and Lois Flanary, all of Norton. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jack R. Flanary II, Darcie Flanary, Mike Flanary, Debbie Rife and Pat Flanary; great-grandchildren, Katie Maine, Jamie Flanary and Jack R. Flanary III; and a great-great-granddaughter, Abigail Maine.

William Jordan
ABINGDON - Entombment for William (Bill) Jordan will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum, in Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Jimmy Clyde Meade
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Mr. Jimmy Clyde Meade, better known as "Mickey", 67, of Fairbanks Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel in North Wilkesboro, N.C., with the Rev. Hadley Triplett and the Rev. Frank Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens in Wilkesboro, N.C.
Mr. Meade was born in Dickson County, Va.,. July 5, 1935, to Clyde and Nellie Dotson Meade.
Mr. Meade is survived by his wife, Shirley Pace Meade of the home; three sons, William (Billy) Clyde Meade of Moravian Falls, N.C., Donald Wayne Meade of Boomer, N.C., and Robert James Solomon of Harriman, Tenn.; one sister, Margaret Bolling of Pound; four brothers, Bernard (Buddy) Meade of Wise, Parkis Meade of Asheville, N.C., Harry Lee Meade of Bristol Virginia, and Carl Meade of Coeburn; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
Ewing Mullins
NORTON - Ewing "Toots" Mullins, 84, was lifted to Heaven on angel wings Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, from his home on Thackers Branch Road after a battle with Lou Gerhrigs Disease. Toots was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a founding member of the Old Dominion Sportsman Association. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glessie Blanton Mullins; two daughters, Billie Wright and Donna Mullins; three brothers; and five sisters.
Surviving: wife, Catherine Mullins, Norton; four daughters, Sue Minor, Wise, Jackie Cooke, Norton, Peggy Wampler, Big Stone Gap and Reedy Estep, Gate City; three sons, Ronal Mullins, Spartanburg , S.C., Mark Mullins, Norton and Tommy Mullins, Wise; sister, Lillian Boles, Norton; 14 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, stepchildren, relatives, friends and neighbors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Allen Culbertson officiating. Graveside committal services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday in the White Oak Gap Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Norton VFW Post 4301. MANASSAS, Va. - Johnny Ray Mullins, 41 years of age, formerly of Grundy, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Prince William Hospital, Manassas.

He was a lifelong resident of Bluff City and had attended Ryder Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cleda Elizabeth Smithson.

Halvie E. Strouth
Halvie Ethridge Strouth, 78, of 1519 Georgia Ave., Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Jan. 21, 2003, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late John and Lucy Weaver Strouth, and was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. He was a former service station owner and was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle. Mr. Strouth loved Jesus, church and gospel music. He was preceded in death by brothers, Chase, Doc and John D. Strouth; and sisters, Artis Lunsford and Ada Pendergrass; and one grandson, Steve Shelton.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Eva Shelton Hunt and Jerry of Blountville, Judy Ramsey and Eddie of Bristol Virginia, and Joyce Buchanan and Dave of Bristol Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Haskell and Nellie Strouth of Bristol Tennessee; sister, Audnia Watson of Bristol Tennessee; special friends, Jack and Patsy Bowery, Julian Burroughs, Rex Leonard and too many friends to mention; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and special great-granddaughter, Whitney Shelton.

RICHLANDS - Cody Graham "Bug" Underwood, 18-month-old infant son of Rocky Graham Underwood of Richlands and the late Pamela Michelle McCarty, died Monday, Jan. 20 2003, at a Johnson City hospital.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elysia Lache, both victims of a house fire Jan. 11, 2003; and his paternal great-grandparents, Marvina and Mabel Underwood. Paternal great-grandfather, Ira "Dobber" Jackson also preceded him in death.
Survivors, in addition to his father, are paternal grandparents, Danny "Rocker" and Elaina Underwood of Richlands; maternal grandmother, Maudie Harris of Cedar Bluff; maternal grandfather, Eugene Casey, address unknown; paternal step-great-grandmother, Emily Logan Underwood of Cedar Bluff; paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Mary Jackson Joyce of Cedar Bluff; and paternal step-great-grandfather, Raymond Joyce of Cedar Bluff.

Barbara Sue Williams
Barbara Sue Williams, 46, of 100 Ash St., died after a long illness at Bristol Wellmont Medical Center on Jan. 20, 2003. A native of Scott County, Va., Miss Williams was the daughter of the late Charles and Stella Mae Williams. She was a graduate of Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va. Following graduation, she worked as a teacher for severely disabled adults at Lynchburg Sheltered Industries. Prior to that, Miss Williams was employed by the Bristol Regional Rehabilitation Center as well as the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Bristol. Miss Williams also lived for a number of years in Phoenix, Ariz., where she was a care giver for an elderly friend.
Miss Williams is survived by her sister, Betty Jean Kerns of Duffield; brothers, David and wife Mitzi Williams of Big Stone Gap and Bobby Joe and wife Cathy Williams of Clinchport; eight nephews; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. She is also survived by special friends, Welthy Soni-Myers and Paul Myers of Bristol and Peru, Vermont, Maura Ubinger of Abingdon, Sister Jane Krafft of Philadelphia; and numerous friends who touched her life and made it richer by their gifts of love and caring.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Lester.
The funeral will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Bristol Virginia at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. Interment will take place at Clendenin Cemetery at Purchase Ridge, Va., at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends at St. Anne's Catholic Church immediately prior to the service. Eva J. Baines, 76, of 1197 VI Ranch Road, Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center. Eva was born July 25, 1926, a daughter of the late John S. and Virgie Morton Boughers.
She was a former employee of Big Jack Manufacturing Co. and the Bristol Sheltered Workshop. She was a member of Holston Valley Christian Church where she taught Sunday School class, Bible School and was a member of the Ladies Circle of Love.
She was preceded in death by a sister Edna Petro and a brother Buck Boughers.
Survivors include: husband of 60 years, Jimmy R. She is preceded in death by her husband, W. Lonzie Mullins and one grandson, Terry Mullins.
Survivors include: 2 sons: Jerry A. Mullins, Kodak, TN and Donald L. Mullins, Kingsport; 1 daughter: Martha Sandra Beverly, Clintwood; 2 foster sons: Donald Mills, Columbus, OH and Henry Mills, Clintwood; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2002 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Yates and Rev. Theo Yates officiating. Burial will follow at the Allen Mullins Family Cemetery, Rt. 2, Longs Fork. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Sunday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home .
