James Lindsay Almond
1898 - 1986

James Lindsay Almond, governor of Virginia from 1958-62, died April 14, 1986. He was 87.

Almond was born June 15, 1898 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

A lawyer, Almond held several posts before and after his governorship, including state court judge, U.S. Representative, U.S. Court of Customs and Patent Appeals judge and U.S. Court of Appeals judge.

Almond died in Richmond where he was still presiding as a Court of Appeals judge.
