died in the City of London, Kingdom of Great Britain, June 9, 1870.
As a writer of fiction he was known throughout the civilized world,
and probably was the most celebrated, for the variety of his works,
of all living writers. He was known as the most prolific of all English authors
of the present day, the effusions of his pen, appearing in constant succession
to the astonishment of his most devoted admirers.
But in a moment as it were, he has been summoned hence,
by a stroke of Paralysis.
