Lynne Thigpen, veteran actor, died suddenly at the age of 54 years in Los Angeles. Lynne was currently staring in the CBS drama The District along side actor Craig T. Nelson. Lynne played the role of Ella Farmer, secretary to Craig T. Nelson's character Police Chief Jack Mannion. The cause of death is still unknown at this point, however Lynne was considered to be in good health.
Lynne Thingpin worked hard and long on her career; success did not come quickly for the actress. Born in Joliet, Illinois, Lynne moved to New York City and created a life and a home for herself pursuing her love for the live stage. Lynne later went on to perform in numerous films and television productions. Lynn's greatest moment in her career took place in 1997, when she received the prestigious Tony Award for best supporting actress for her role as a black Jewish feminist in Wendy Wasserstein's play An American Daughter. Lynne achieved film credits for her appearances in The Insider, Shaft, Random Hearts, Lean on Me, Tootsie and the recently released Anger Management.
