James “Jim” Warren Nelson died August 5, 2007, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.
Mr. Nelson was the first baby born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 1, 1933, at 12:01 a.m.
He enjoyed family and holiday gatherings. He loved cooking and baking from scratch, building model boats and airplanes, and fishing. He would never pass up a good conversation.
He is survived by his sons Sidney Nelson of Troy and Steve Nelson of Unionville, Connecticut; and by his grandchildren: Brent and Kaylee Nelson of Island Pond and Shane Nelson of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his former wife, Nancy H. Nelson; by his mother and father; and by his only brother, Paul Nelson, of Connecticut.
He will be sadly missed, mostly by grandchildren, family, and friends.
Funeral services were held August 14 at Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport with the Reverend Philip Branon officiating.

Dorothy J. Maynard
Dorothy J. Maynard, 66, of Derby Line died August 6, 2007, in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Mrs. Maynard was born July 26, 1941, in Putnam, Connecticut, a daughter of Butches and Yvonne Lizotte.
On January 27, 1973, she married Lawrence Maynard, who survives her.
She enjoyed drawing. She was an angel of a mother.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Christina Maynard Martin, of Virginia; by her children from a previous marriage: Todd Tetreault of Los Angeles, California, Dawn Tetreault and Scott Tetreault of Guildhall, and Robin Tetreault of New Hampshire; by a brother, Edgar Lizotte, of Connecticut; by several grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held August 11 at a Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport. Interment followed in the Derby Cemetery.

Ernest Harold Macie
Ernest Harold Macie, 91, of Otisfield, Maine, died July 15, 2007, at Norway Rehabilitation Center in Norway, Maine.
Mr. Macie was born on November 24, 1915, in Irasburg, a son of George and Rose (Sanville) Macie. He was a farmer and Irasburg road commissioner and worked at Ethan Allen in Orleans.
He married Tona Chaffee on December 24, 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Tona, of Otisfield; by his daughters: EarlineBarwick of Starke, Florida, Leona Hodgdon of Hardwick, and Marie Sawyer of West Paris, Maine; by his stepdaughter Betty Chaffee of Otisfield; by his sons Wayne Macie of Ocala, Florida, and the Reverend Rudy Macie of Mechanic Falls, Maine; by 12 grandchildren; by 26 great-grandchildren; and by eight great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers: Leo, Ralph, Raymond, Victor, and Gordon; and by his sisters Elizabeth and Theresa.
Services were held at Weston Chandler Funeral Home on July 28 in South Paris, Maine.
