Eleonore J. Beauregard, 93, of Derby Line, died in Barton on Friday, April 6, 2001.
Mrs. Beauregard was born in St. Hermenegilde, Quebec, on June 2, 1907, the daughter of Magloire and Clara (Lambert) Houle. On July 1, 1931, she married Norbert Beauregard, who predeceased her in 1992. She is survived by her sons, Roger Beauregard and his wife, Colleen, of Morgan, and Maurice Beauregard and his wife, Sylvia, of Derby Line; by her sisters, Evelyn White of Berlin, New Hampshire, and Blanche Gosselin of Valleyfield, Quebec; by six grandchildren; and by ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest Houle and Alde Houle; and by her sisters, Matilda Quinette and Simone Lavoie.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Derby Line with the Reverend Yvon Royer officiating. Spring interment will take place at St. Edward's Cemetery in Derby Line.

Ruth T. Cook
Ruth T. Cook, 77, of Norwich died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Cook was born on December 11, 1923, in Glover, the daughter of Albert H. and Alice (Blake) Tyler. She attended schools in Barton and graduated from Barton Academy and Graded School. After high school she attended Lyndon Normal School, graduating in 1944. She taught school in West Corinth and Union Village, both one-room schoolhouses. She then was branch manager of the First Twin State Bank of Norwich for 19 years.
On June 11, 1946, in Hartford, she was married to Sidney Cook, who survives.
After her retirement she and her husband were part of the Ed Larkin Dancers of Chelsea. She was active in town affairs, was a member of the board of civil authority and trustee of trust funds, was active in Union Village Church in Norwich, and was a Sunday school teacher and church treasurer for ten years. She also was a member of the board of the United Way.
She enjoyed her grandchildren, dancing, and going for walks and rides out in the countryside.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Cook, of Norwich; by one son, Daniel Cook, of Norwich; by two daughters, Carole Freeman of East Corinth and Becky Cook of Norwich; by nine grandchildren; by one brother, Burt Tyler, of Enfield, New Hampshire; and by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers: Fred, Carl, Rosco, and Warren; by one sister, Viola Hastings; and by one granddaughter.
Memorial services were held on Sunday, April 8, in Union Village Church with the Reverend James Blaine officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the family lot in Hillside Cemetery in Norwich. There are no calling hours.

Muriel Y. (Benoit) Farnham
Muriel Y. (Benoit) Farnham, 77, of Bedford, New Hampshire, died at her residence on April 4, 2001, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Farnham was born in North Troy on March 6, 1924, the daughter of Ovila and Jeanne (Roberge) Benoit and had lived in Manchester, New Hampshire, for many years prior to moving to Bedford two years ago. She was a self-employed court transcriptionist. She was a beloved wife and devoted mother and grandmother.
Family members include her husband of 53 years, Elwin Farnham; two sons, Dana A. Farnham and his wife, Pamela, of Boone, Idaho, and Gregory J. Farnham and his partner, Chris Varga, of Glen Ridge, New Jersey; two daughters, Shelley Hilber and her husband, Jeffrey, of Vienna, Virginia, and Mary Wong and her husband, Harold, of Dove Canyon, California; four grandchildren: Courtney, Caitlin, and Steven Hilber, and Maya Wong; two sisters, Martha Petrin of Manchester, Connecticut, and Desnelges Lamy and her husband, Leo, of Manchester, New Hampshire; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial service took place at Phaneuf Funeral Home Chapel in Manchester, New Hampshire.
