Alec Quarmby, 94, of Derby, Vermont, passed away on April 28, 2019 in Derby. He was born on December 10, 1924 in Hook, Yorkshire, United Kingdom to Mary and Bernard Quarmby. He received his education in the United Kingdom.
Alec was employed by the Norwalk School Board of Education in CT. After moving to CA., he was employed by the Poway School Board of Education in CA prior to retiring in Vermont. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the British Army and it is there that he met his wife Rose.
Among his hobbies he enjoyed gardening, painting, skiing and ballroom dancing with his wife. He was an avid football fan.
Alec is survived by his children: Donovan Quarmby, Sr and his wife Linda of Derby, VT, Geraldine Rogers and her husband Gary of Barre, VT, and Dorian Quarmby of Newport, VT, his Grandchildren: Donovan Quarmby, Jr. of Gilbert, AZ, Amber Sitar of Charlotte, NC, and Summer Stelter of Newport, VT, by his great grandchildren: Brielle, Brynn and Trey Quarmby of Gilbert, AZ, Ethan and Keira Sitar of Charlotte, NC and Rex Stelter of Newport, VT.
He is predeceased by his wife, Rose, a sister Sylvia and a brother Bernard.

Clair J. Stouffer
December 8, 1942 - May 25, 2013
Clair J. Stouffer, 70, of Derby, VT, passed away suddenly on May 25, 2013 in Newport, VT. He was born on December 8, 1942 in Harrisburg, PA, the son of Clair and Jean (Malseed) Stouffer, Jr. On June 15, 1982 he married Carolyn Rueckert who survives him.
Clair was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a master’s degree. He was a teacher at WestPoint Prep School in Monmouth, New Jersey for many years. He was a member of the Board of VT Farmers markets and he and his dog Eddie were Delta Pet Partners Therapy Dogs. He loved to display at the various farmer’s markets.
He is survived by his wife Linn Stouffer of Derby, VT, by his children: Jason C. Stouffer of Houston, Texas, and Ashley L. Stouffer of Newport, VT. He is also survived by his brother T. Bradley Stouffer and his wife Nancy of Holland, VT and by his sister Charon Whitesell and her husband Thomas of Tequesta, FL and by several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Therese A. Doyon

Death: May 19, 2013
Therese A. Doyon, 84, of Lowell, VT, passed away on May 19, 2013 in Newport, VT. She was born on October 4, 1928 in Winooski, VT the daughter of Leo and Aurore (Charpentier) Bonneau.
On August 16, 1949 she married Gaston Doyon who survives her.
Therese and her husband farmed in Lowell for 29 years. She was a past member of the Ladies of Ste Anne and she taught catechism in Lowell for many years and she ran the kitchen at St. Ignatius Church. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in the community. She made cakes for different occasions and also ceramic arts and crafts.
She loved to have her family come for visits as she derived great pleasure from her family. She also enjoyed many activities with her husband including playing cards, bingo, entertaining and traveling. She enjoyed bowling and going to music events with her husband and she was a di-hard red sox fan.
She is survived by her husband Gaston Doyon of Lowell, VT and by her children: Madeleine Greenway and her companion Gerry Green of Lowell, VT, Marielle Tetreault and her husband Roger,Jr of Westfield, VT, Marcel Doyon and his wife Catherine of Denver, Colorado, Maurice Doyon and his wife Jacqueline of Manchester, NH, Aline Bathalon and her husband Guy of Derby, VT, and Paul Doyon and his wife Pauline of Westfield, VT, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Bernard Bonneau and his wife Fernande of North Troy, VT, by her sisters: Martha Limoges and her husband Real of Troy, VT, and Celine Leblanc and her husband Norman of Jericho, VT, and by her sister-in-law Mary Bonneau of Lowell, VT. She was predeceased by two children Michael and Agnes, by her granddaughter Sandra, by her sister Maria Lamarche three brothers: Jean Paul, Gerard, and Ange Marie.

Lillian Mary (Allen) Willis
August 3, 1927 - May 17, 2013
Lillian Mary (Allen) Willis (85) passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 in Newport @ North Country Hospital with her family by her side. She was born August 3, 1927 in Mansonville, Quebec, to Leon and & Erdine (Gibeau) Allen.
Lillian was a an active member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, holding many positions in the Troy, Newport and Island Pond Chapters until she was no longer able to attend. She worked for many years as a waitress at the Green Valley Restaurant in Troy. She retired from Bogner of America in 1985. After retirement, she kept busy doing various sewing jobs and watching Tyler Paxman, from the time of his birth until he went to school, who became a very special "grandson" to her.
On May 10, 1947, she married Malcolm (Pete) Willis. She is survived by the following family, Four sons and their wives, Dennis and Linda Willis, Gary and Fay Willis, Keith and Jackie Willis, and Jim and Janet Willis. Seven grandchildren, Rick Willis and partner Terry Davis, Robbie Willis and wife Marnie, Carrie Lamadeliene and partner Justin Wright, Roy Willis and partner Athena Farrar, Jessie Willis, Melissa Laramie and husband Philip, and Lynn Willis and partner Joe Brooks. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Sisters Pauline Haney and husband Tom, Ernestine Monfette, Albertine Woodard, Maxlene Mongeau and husband Rick, brother Lyle Allen and wife Sue, sister in laws, Thelma Willis, Mildren Allen, and Betty Allen and by her sister-in-law Esther Allen. Many nieces and nephews in VT, NY, MA, NH, NC and Quebec.
She was predeceased by her husband Pete, grandson David, grandson Jason Lucier, great great grandson Trevor, several brothers, one sister, and several brothers and sister in laws.

Camille Harold Ernest Deslandes
May 13, 1957 - April 18, 2015
Camille Harold Ernest Deslandes, 57, of Island Pond, passed away peacefully at his home on April 18, 2015 with his family and friends by his side. He was born on May 13, 1957 in Newport, VT. He battled lung cancer for a year before passing.
Camille was a loving, helpful man who enjoyed to travel. He would travel to Maine and New York most every weekend to watch his nephew race horses. He traveled to the simulcast parlor in Scarsborough, Maine and Saratoga, NY where he met many friends whom he enjoyed spending time with. He loved taking care of his mother for 16 years after the his father’s passing.
He is survived by his mother, Marion Deslandes , his sisters Nancy Roby and her husband Norman, Linda Bones and her husband James, by his brother Clair Delsandes, sister-in-law Linda Deslandes all of Island Pond, VT, by his brother Donald Deslandes and his wife Candy of Newport, VT, by his brother Jeffrey Deslandes and his wife Kinda along with his horse racing idle Daniel and his little buddy Caden Deslandes of Sarco, Maine, and by his sister Gloria Collins and her husband Doug of Brownington, VT, and by several nieces and nephews and by many friends and family whom he has met during his lifetime. He was predeceased by his father Harold Deslandes and brother Gary Scott of Island Pond.

David M. Payeur

David M. Payeur, 56, of Derby, VT, passed away on May 10, 2014 in Derby, VT. He was born June 19, 1957 in Lancaster, NH to Vernice (Twofoot) Payeur and the late Bernard Payeur. David was employed by Newport Furniture Parts. David liked fishing and the outdoors. He also enjoyed working on his trucks.
He is survived by his children: Tiffany Payeur of Portland, OR, and Samantha Payeur of Plattsburg, NY and by his mother Vernice Payeur of Derby, VT. He was predeceased by two brothers: Craig and Philip Payeur.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday May 16, 2014 at the Lakeside Cemetery in Island Pond, VT. Erma M. Hathaway
August 30, 1910 - May 12, 2014
Erma M. Hathaway , 103, of Barton, VT, formerly of Walton, NY, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2014 in Barton. She was born August 30, 1910 in Downsville, NY, to George and Alice (Hunter) Bull. On July 14, 1941 she married Orville Hathaway who predeceased her in 1949.
She graduated from Downsville High School in Downsville, NY, and Oneonta Normal School in Oneonta, NY, where she received her teaching degree. She was employed part time for CPA in Walton and Leader of the 4-H Club.
She was a an elementary school teacher in Central, NY for many years. She was a member of the Walton, NY Methodist Church, assistant to the village clerk in Walton, and for many years school tax collector in Walton.
She loved to listen to music and she was a New York Yankees fan.
She is survived by her children: David Hathaway and his wife Dorothy of Barton, VT and Jane Thorick and her husband Philip of Binghamton, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Hathaway of Shelburne, VT, Michael Hathaway and his wife Melissa of Burlington, VT, and Matthew Leete of Bangkok, Thailand and by her great grandchildren Reid, Iris, and Tyler. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Norris, Homer, Marvin, Raymond, and Milo Bull and Elsie Wheat.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday May 18, 2014 at the Barton United Church Vestry.
