Richard A. Gutzmann, 55, of Craftsbury died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at his home in Craftsbury.
He was born in Arlington, Massachusetts, on August 15, 1945, son of the late Walter and Lillian (Stoker) Gutzmann.
He graduated from Craftsbury Academy in 1963. After graduation he made his home in Craftsbury, where he owned and operated his own excavating and logging business. Mr. Gutzmann also was well-known for his large maple sugaring business. His familiar blue sugarhouse at the foot of East Craftsbury Hill became a landmark in Craftsbury for giving directions.
He leaves a son, Richard Jr.; a grandson, Richard III of Arkansas; and a granddaughter, Jasmine, of Hardwick. He also leaves a brother, Walter, and his wife, Sandra, of Craftsbury; and their children, Kristina Lee, Wendy Allen, and Walter Jr. "Chip."
Upon his request, there will be no services.
Frank V. Adams
Frank V. Adams, 86, of North Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Adams was born September 14, 1914, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late John V. and Narcissus K. Barker Adams.
He was an Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Alaskan Communication System and retired from AT&T after 31 years. He was a member of Surf Club in North Myrtle Beach and Orleans Country Club, and was a former member of the Masonic Temple in Seattle, Washington. He also enjoyed traveling and fishing and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Mildred L. Adams, of North Myrtle Beach; three daughters: Ann Anderson and her husband, Russ, of Ellington, Connecticut, Judy DenBleyker and her husband, Andy, of Charlestown, Rhode Island, and Barbara Angelini and her husband, Gary, of Fall River, Massachusetts; five grandchildren: Kevin Anderson, Karen Anderson Lisk, Marc DenBleyker, Steven DenBleyker, and Brooks Angelini; and four great-grandchildren: Douglas Anderson, Joshua Lisk, Katelyn Lisk, and Jason DenBleyker.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 20, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with Doctor J. Kirk Lawton Jr. officiating with entombment following at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Alzheimer's Association, Coastal Carolina Chapter, P.O. Box 80459, Charleston, South Carolina 29416.

Beulah (Kendall) Ball
Beulah (Kendall) Ball, 83, a 34-year resident of West Springfield, Massachusetts, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at her home.
Born in West Charleston, Mrs. Ball worked for the Newport Daily Express as a circulation assistant for several years. She had also worked for Ace Exterminating in Springfield as a bookkeeper and more recently at Newhouse Brake Company in Westfield, Massachusetts, as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She was a former member of the East Main Street Baptist Church in Newport.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dwight Ball, in 1975; by five brothers; and by two sisters. She is survived by her three daughters: Wilma Dunphy and her husband, James, of Agawam, Laura Gruszkos and her husband, William, and Cynthia Kennedy, all of Holyoke; by a sister Medora K. Reed, of Sarasota, Florida; by seven grandchildren; and by seven great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours, and the funeral will be private at the request of the family. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.
Memorial donations may be made to the local chapter of visiting nurses and hospice.
