Helen Louise Stokes, who had owned a restaurant, died in 2001. She also was preceded in born Aug. 25, 1932, in Fargo, N.D., and lived in the Vancouver area for the past 52 years. Her maiden name was Emerson.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracey Standfill and Vicki Maruhn, both of Ridgefield; and seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Stokes was a member of the Eagles Lodge and enjoyed painting, art and ceramics.
There will be no service. Her body was cremated. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy M. Fry

A funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground for Dorothy Marie Fry, a homemaker who born April 6, 1928, in Kelso and lived 50 years in Clark County. Her maiden name was Waser.
Her husband, Edward "Ed" R. Fry, Cemetery. The casket will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Luther S. Leonard born March 30, 1920, in Portland and lived in the Vancouver area for the past 42 years.
His wife, Jessie, Cemetery.
Alvin L. Mather

Real estate developer Alvin L. Mather, 98, died in 1948. A son, Alvin Jr., born May 19, 1906, in Cheyenne, Wyo., and lived in the Clark County area the past eight years.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Kinga, at home; one daughter, Carol Peterson of Vancouver; one sister, Gloria Beatty of Caldwell, Idaho; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mather attended the Unity Church and enjoyed square dancing, singing and making turquoise jewelry.
A service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.
