A service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Gable Funeral Chapel in Portland for Bette Louise Brown, who born June 17, 1942, in Vancouver. An active member of the community, she worked as a Realtor and was a multi-million dollar producer. She enjoyed gardening, walking along the beach and baking.
Survivors include her mother, Birdie M. Umathum of Vancouver; one son, Jeffery L. Brown of Longview; one daughter, Cindi L. Farnstrom of Tualatin, Ore.; one brother, Frank Umathum of Yuma, Ariz.; and her special companion, Kasey, her poodle.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 2121 St. Francis Lane, Vancouver, WA 98660; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Donovan L. Frederick

Donovan L. "Dutch" Frederick, a retired accountant who worked for Armour and Company in Spokane for 35 years, born Jan. 8, 1909, in South Prairie Township, N.D., and lived in Spokane for 43 years, and then in Salem, Ore., for 20 years before moving to Vancouver four years ago.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Salem and the Armour's Men's Club.
He enjoyed barbershop quartets and was also a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Singing in America.
He also enjoyed playing golf, reading, gardening and oil painting.
His wife of 62 years, Hazel M., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, in Vancouver. She was 73.
Mrs. Garrison was died in 1970.
Survivors include three sons, Robert of Vancouver, Edward of Portland and Steve of Hanford, Calif.; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her special companion, Bob Eisenrich of Vancouver.
The casket will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be at Willamette National died Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, in Woodland. She was 90.
Mrs. Hagen, whose maiden name was Edinger, was died in 1998.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Ann Sizemore of Woodland, Mary Beth O'Shea of Ridgefield and Helen Elaine Emmons of Aurora, Ore.; one son, Harold E. of Toutle.; one sister, Helen Schaeffer of Hinckley, Minn.; one brother, Warren Edinger of Glenwood, Minn.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Layne's Funeral Home Chapel in Battle Ground. Private burial will be at Willamette National died of prostrate cancer Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at his home in La Center.
Mr. Larkin was died in 1992.
Survivors include his second wife, Rozanne, at home; two sons, Richard M. and Sandy P., both of La Center; three sisters, Rebecca, Frances and Patricia, all of Portland; two brothers, Alan of Phoenix and Wallace of Portland; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his dog and special companion, Scooter.
A memorial service will be held at the Summit Grove Lodge in La Center on Sunday, Sept. 12.
Jerrold D. Lilly
Vancouver
Jerrold D. "Jerry" Lilly, a systems load dispatcher who retired from Portland General Electric after 41 years, born Aug. 13, 1935, in Roseburg, Ore.
He lived in Portland for many years before moving to Vancouver eight years ago.
He attended Columbia Presbyterian Church and was an avid golfer and tennis player.
One of his sons, Terrance, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Vancouver.
Mrs. Schulte, a homemaker, was died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, in Camas.
Mrs. Nichols was died in 1969; a son, Dick, died in 1974.
Survivors include two daughters, Nadene Pehl of Chehalis and Leona Conner of Camas; two sons, William of Washougal and Jerry of Ocean Park; one brother, Claude Davis of Grand Junction, Colo.; one sister, Ramona Adams of Grand Junction; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fern Prairie died in Vancouver on Aug. 16, 2004.
He was died in 1989.
Survivors include three sons, Steven, David E., and Scott, all of Seattle; two sisters, Wanda Dickinson of Brush Prairie and Lois Dickinson of Puyallup; one brother, Leonard of La Center; and two grandchildren.
There was a private inurnment. Vancouver Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Charles E. Harris
Yacolt
A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memory Memorial Park for Charles "Chuck" Edward Harris, a logger, who born Nov. 18, 1913, in Manor, and lived in Clark County all his life.
Mr. Harris was a Mason and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working outdoors.
A daughter, Patricia Harris, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Alfreda M., at home; three daughters, Nancy Dietrich of Vancouver and Cindy Lively and Judy Mason, both of Yacolt; two sons, Ed and Mike, both of Yacolt; one sister, Olive J. Marine of California; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The casket will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground.
