Clair Schwartz, who worked in appliance repair, born Oct. 8, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved from Yakima to Vancouver four years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Krous-Schwartz, at home; two daughters, Diane Newman of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Barbara Lentz of Des Moines; one stepdaughter, Kim Waterman of Everett; one son, David Schwartztrauber of Independence, Iowa; one stepson, Kyle Krous of Vancouver; two sisters, Marie Rockrohr of Clinton, Iowa, and Betty Reynolds of Texas; two brothers, Larry of Iowa and Bob of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schwartz was awarded a Purple Heart while serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
There will be no service. Wilhelm Funeral Home in Portland was in charge of arrangements.
Nora A. Snedden

There will be a private service for Nora A. Snedden, who born Sept. 8, 1924, in Brule, Wis., and lived in Clark County 70 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Lundberg of Vancouver and Patricia Jorgenson of Mount Vernon, Wash.; two sisters, Ruth Nikkila of Vancouver and Cerie Soderlind of Los Angeles; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Leola 'Jean' Woodruff

A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. today at Layne's Funeral Chapel in Battle Ground for Leola "Jean" Woodruff, who died in 1980.
A private committal will be in Chelatchie died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, in Camas.
She was died of heart problems Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in Longview.
A service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Community Church in Longview. Burial will be in Park Hill born Nov. 20, 1917, in Deering, N.D. She lived in Vancouver from 1944 to 1986, then moved to Longview. Her maiden name was Paulus.
Her husband, Clarence L., died Tuesday, August 24, 2004, in Vancouver.
He was died in 1981.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Gifford of Camas; two sons, Rod of Washougal and Lonnie of Vancouver; one sister, Josie McAllister of Shelton; one brother, Bob of Washougal; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The casket will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by burial in Washougal Memorial died of cancer Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in a Portland hospital. He was 82.

Carolyn E. Adams
Vancouver
Carolyn Ethel Adams, who lived in Vancouver for five years, died in 1993.
Mrs. Adams was died of cancer Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, at home in Vancouver. She was 46.

Cassandra M. Johnston

A 1984 Evergreen High School graduate, Cassandra "Cassi" M. Johnston born Jan. 14, 1966, in Portland and lived in Vancouver for 33 years.
She attended the University of Oregon and was a fan of the Ducks and Seattle Mariners.
Miss Johnston had been a YWCA Court Appointed Special Advocate and was an amateur radio operator, with the call letters KC7MFJ. She loved animals.
Survivors include her parents, Susan and Delvan Johnston of Vancouver; one sister, Tracey Powell of Vancouver; grandparents, Ardis and Wally Johnston of Portland; and her special companion, James Doty, at home.
Her life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vancouver Lake Crew Club. Davies Cremation & Burial Services is in charge of arrangements.
