A plasterer who enjoyed fishing and had worked in the Vancouver and Portland area for more than 60 years, Claude N. Case born Feb. 24, 1918, in Portland and lived there for many years before moving to Vancouver six months ago. At the time of his died in 1991. Survivors include one daughter, Pattie Colvin of Vancouver, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. A Cemetery. The casket will be open for viewing from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel.
Ray E. Dale
Vancouver
A member of Eagles Lodge 2158 in Vancouver, the National Rifle Association, Motor Coach Association and Good Sam Club, Ray E. Dale born Nov. 14, 1933, in Vancouver and lived here all his life. He worked for Nabisco Co. as a general foreman for many years and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, arts and crafts and going to the beach. Marilyn, his wife of 38 years, died in 1973. Survivors include four sons, Will Dale, Jake Holper and Steve Dale, all of Vancouver, and Dan Dale of Winlock, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died of a heart attack Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, in Kingston, N.Y. He was 52. Mr. Taylor was Cemetery. The body was cremated and services were held in Kingston, N.Y. Leahy Funeral Home in Kingston was in charge of arrangements.
Maybell W. Pyle

A died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, in Vancouver. Mrs. Pyle was died in 1963 and her daughter, Joyce Harder, funeral service in Willamette National died in Vancouver on Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999. Mrs. Roberts was died in Vancouver on Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999. She was a billing supervisor in San Francisco. Mrs. Huck was died in 1990. Survivors include one daughter, Trudy Steinbarge of Vancouver; one son, Gary Odell of Vancouver; one sister, Beulah Fisher of Vacaville, Calif.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Huck enjoyed gardening, flowers and sewing. There will be a private burial in Willamette National died in Vancouver Friday, Oct. 1, 1999. He was 69. Mr. Shrum owned several businesses while living in Alaska 40 years. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying and building remote control planes. He also liked to cook. Mr. Shrum was died at her home Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999. Mrs. Belt was death by her first husband, Jim Gunter, in 1948, and her second husband, William Belt, in 1990. Her son, James Gunter, died in 1998. A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Assembly of God Church. There will be a private burial at John Day died in Vancouver on Sept. 27, 1999. He was 62. Mr. Bontrager was an automobile mechanic and enjoyed woodworking. He loved to cook and fish, and music was very important to him. He was died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, in Vancouver. He was died in Kennewick on Sept. 23, 1999, of congestive heart failure. Mr. Gibson was died in Camas on Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999. She was 36. Mrs. Hendricks was a dental hygienist at The Dental Oasis in Vancouver. Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey, at home; her father and stepmother, Edward and Valerie B. Sussek of Colfax, Calif.; her mother and stepfather, Joan T. and Lloyd Newton of Pleasanton, Calif.; one son, Jordan J., at home; two stepsisters; one brother, Eric G. Sussek of Pleasanton; and six stepbrothers. Mrs. Hendricks was very active in outdoor sports and also liked shopping and crafts. She was died in Vancouver on Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999. Her husband of 40 years, William, born Nov. 24, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Diane Kenninger of Toledo; three sons, William of Ridgefield, James of Brush Prairie and Joel of Vancouver; one sister, Clara Zeman of Shady Cove, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died in Camas on Monday, Oct. 4, 1999. Mr. Ray, 64, was also a service manager at Metro Buick for 15 years. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Cathy D., at home; his mother, Marie Ray of Goldendale; two daughters, Kim Berry of Camas and Tahnee Anders of Brush Prairie; one son, Tim of Washougal; one sister, Doris Newman of The Dalles, Ore.; and eight grandchildren. Mr. Ray was Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Southwest, P.O. Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.
Ruth M. Smith
Sun City, Ariz.
Former Vancouver resident, Ruth McLaughlin Smith, born Oct. 24, 1918, in Auburn, Ind. She moved to Vancouver after World War II and began working in a paper mill. She later worked in the cafeteria at Lewis Junior High School. After retiring she enjoyed golfing and traveling to Arizona to live part of each year. She was active at First United Methodist Church in Vancouver. Survivors include her husband, Smitty, at home; one daughter, Marianna Jackson; three sons, Michael P. Greeley, John P. Greeley and Merry L. McLaughlin; one brother; one sister; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Vancouver. A private burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The casket will be open from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
