Cecil Perry Swett, 86, of Woodland, born May 16, 1913, in Ericson, Neb. He attended school in Nebraska and lived in Montana before coming to Clark County in 1937. He was a dairy farmer and enjoyed fishing, singing, watching wrestling and driving around the Woodland area. He was a member of Woodland Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Elks and the grange. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ella M., at home; three daughters, Leota Mynatt of Lyons, Ore., Marge Baranske of Vancouver and Judy Osmanberg of Ariel; one son, Dale of Woodland; two sisters, Bunny Mark of Spokane and Roberta Cartright of Florida; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Woodland Presbyterian Church followed by burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, in Camas. She was 79. Mrs. Fletcher was died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, in Vancouver. She was 86. Mrs. Beall was death. Survivors include one daughter, Salle Beall of South Pasadena, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Harold E. Christensen

A former resident of La Center who had lived in Santa Barbara County, Calif., for the past 36 years, Harold E. "Chris" Christensen Born Nov. 21, 1915, in La Center, Mr. Christensen graduated from high school in La Center and attended Vancouver Community College. He later earned a degree in military science from the University of Maryland and served in the Air Force for 26 years. He retired on disability in 1969, as a chief warrant officer-4. He was a 51-year member of the Elks Lodge and was also a member of The Friends of the Lompoc Library, the Lompoc Museum Associates and the National Rifle Association. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth "Bess, " at home; one daughter, Christina Marl of Everett, Wash.; one sister, Dorothy Welch of Gaithersburg, Md.; and one foster sister, Donna Rae Chicks of Vancouver. A woodworker who was employed by Bodens Store Fixtures in Portland, Ralph H. DeShazer born July 7, 1952, in Eugene, Ore. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, music, reading and people. Survivors include three sisters, Roseann Becker of Yacolt, Wynona Senn of Longview and Marie Smith of British Columbia; and special friends, the Michael Duffy family and Tristen Stallings. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Salvation Army Chapel, 1500 N.E. 112th Ave. in Vancouver. Autumn Funeral and Cremation of Portland is in charge of arrangements.

A member of St. James Catholic Church and the Vancouver Yacht Club who had owned and operated Pat's Knit Shop and Hamilton's Draperies in Vancouver for 25 years, Patricia Ann Hamilton born Feb. 21, 1925, in Vancouver and she lived here her entire life. Her maiden name was Haffey. She enjoyed camping, fishing and family activities. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John Edward "Jack, " at home; three sons, Steven and Joseph Todd, both of Vancouve, r and John of Seattle; and six grandchildren. Today's 11 a.m. Mass at St. James Catholic Church will be dedicated to her. There will also be a memorial gathering beginning at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18th at the American Legion Post 14 in Vancouver. A secretary who worked in the asphalt industry in Upland, Calif., Dorothy Lousie Rosenberger, 82, born April 18, 1917, in Rochester, Pa., and moved to Vancouver eight years ago from Upland. Her husband, Blythe, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at her home in Battle Ground. She was 76. Mrs. Willahan was death by her husband, Charles William, who Cemetery. George S. Chaney

Retired meat cutter George S. Chaney born March 21, 1924, in Viola, Idaho. He moved to Vancouver in the mid-1940s. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Leona M., at home; two daughters, Marschia Hauff and Georgeanne Dokos, both of Vancouver; one son, Michael Chaney Sr. of Vancouver; one stepson, William Bishop of Long Beach, Wash.; one brother, Lester of Vancouver; three sisters, Doris Wheeler and Evelyn Platt, both of Vancouver, and Daisey Hendrix of Potlatch, Idaho; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Chaney was an Army veteran of World War II. He had participated in league bowling. His body was cremated. There will be no service. Hazel Vivian Goure born Dec. 6, 1907, in Lincoln County, Kan. She was a dietitian. Mrs. Goure was a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Survivors include two nieces, Vivian L. Peterson of Ridgefield and Eunice Dale of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; two great nieces; and one great nephew. There was a memorial service at the care center. Burial was in Boulder, Colo. Evergreen Staples Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Donald E. O'Dell

Donald E. O'Dell was died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Southwest Washington Medical Center of cancer. He was 35. Mr. O'Dell worked as a cabinetmaker for Dakota Interiors. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Barbara and Melvin Cates of Vancouver; four sisters, Linda Grimes, Janice Satterthwait and Susan Yenne, all of Vancouver, and Karen Haaland of San Louis Obispo, Calif.; two brothers, Robert of Vancouver and Gerald of Portland; and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed hunting. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Manor Grange hall, Northeast 179th Street and 72nd Avenue.
Allan E. Peters

Allan E. Peters, 62, born Feb. 9, 1937, in Rochester, Minn. Mr. Peters, a major in the Marine Corps, retired after more than 20 years. Then, he worked for Clark County Corrections, retiring in 1993. Mr. Peters graduated from Bemidji State University and earned a master's degree from Pepperdine University. He was a Catholic and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include one daughter, Vanessa Stevens of Vancouver; one son, Erik of Greenville, N.C.; one brother, Harold of San Mateo, Calif.; and one grandson. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Battle Ground. His body will be cremated.
Donovan E. Rayfield Sr.

Retired construction worker and welder Donovan E. Rayfield Sr. born June 26, 1921, in Skiatook, Okla., and moved to Vancouver in 1949. He worked in Spokane and Goldendale, returning to Vancouver in 1959. He was a welder at Columbia Steel, until retirement. He enjoyed reading, traveling and family activities. Survivors include his wife, Delores, at home; three sons, Donavon E. Jr. of Battle Ground and Myron J. and Chet T., both of Vancouver; one sister, Patricia Smith; five granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
