Carla J. Basnett

A 1979 Fort Vancouver High School graduate, Carla J. Basnett, born April 25, 1961, in Vancouver and lived in Vancouver all her life.
Survivors include her mother, Betty Osborn of Vancouver; her father, Lee Basnett, lives in University Place, Wash.; one daughter, Amanda Malejko of Lynnwood, Wash.; one son, Austin Holteen of Vancouver; three brothers, Terry Basnett, Jerry Basnett and Jason Osborn, all of Vancouver; one sister, Cheryl Mahoney of Seattle; and grandmother, Dora Halbrook of Vancouver.
A graveside service was this afternoon at Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Saturday, May 13, 2000, in Hayward, Calif. She was 92.
Mrs. Campbell was died in 1927.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church and active in the League of Women Voters.
She proudly held a lifetime membership in the National Association of Colored People.
When her children left home she learned to type and became a legal secretary for several attorneys in Vancouver. She ran for the House of Representatives in Washington state but was defeated.
Mrs. Campbell lived in Vancouver until 1992 when she moved to California to be near her daughter and son.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, John "Jack" W. and Phyllis Jungroth of Oklahoma City, Okla., and son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Marlys Jungroth of San Mateo, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Jungroth Telles and Larry Telles of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
There will be a private funeral.
Manual Hoffman
Bothell, Wash.
Former 30-year Skamania, Wash., resident, Manual Hoffman, 88, born Sept. 26, 1911, in Walla Walla, Wash. For the past five years he lived in Bothell with his son, Gene.
His wife, Hermia E. Hoffman, death.
Survivors include two sons, Gene of Bothell and Gerald W. of Spokane; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Park Hill died at home in Puyallup on Saturday, May 13, 2000. She was 72.
Mrs. Lindsay was death.
Survivors include four daughters, Donna Spencer Doughtie of Puyallup, Kathern Spencer Reeves of Edgewood, JoAnn Spencer Thompson of Edmonds, Wash., and Teresa Lindsay Maxwell of Vancouver; one son, Daniel D. Spencer of Vancouver; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lindsay retired from Southwest Washington Medical Center in 1989.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery for Oscar E. Nelson, who born Oct. 13, 1890, in La Center and was a lifetime resident of Clark County.
He was a prune farmer.
Survivors include two nieces, Phyllis Kays of La Center and Betty DeFord of Portland; and two nephews, Bill Barnhart and Don Barnhart, both of La Center.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Nelson was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the La Center High School scholarship fund.
Paul A. Nordmark
Vancouver
Paul Anson Nordmark, a retired truck driver, born Aug. 25, 1913, in Portland.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Nordmark drove truck for American Steel Company for 35 years before retiring.
After he retired he moved to Vancouver.
Survivors include his brother-in-law, Norval "Nibs" Oliver of Vancouver; and three nieces, Karen Kiemele, Kristin Mesa and Kathy Haij.
There will be a private graveside service at Skyline Memorial Gardens.
Charles D. Ottensmeyer
Vancouver
A retired physician who lived in the Vancouver area the past 15 years, Charles D. Ottensmeyer, who born Dec. 15, 1922, in Dundee, Ill.
Mr. Ottensmeyer enjoyed boating and music and liked flying and building small aircraft.
There will be a private service. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. His body was cremated.
Raymond F. Proffitt
Vancouver
A Vancouver resident for the past 38 years, Raymond F. Proffitt, born June 10, 1920, in Outlook, Mont.
He worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Leila J., at home; two daughters, Dwyla Horspool of Ocean Park, Wash., and Charlotte Bennett of Reno; one son, Martin of Mesa, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
There will be no service. His body will be cremated and remains placed in Northwood Park died there May 8, 2000.
Mr. Rich was died at a local care center Monday, May 15, 2000. She was 86.
Mrs. Schmidt was died in 1979.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie A. Broderick of New York City, N.Y.; two sons, David A. Schmidt of Vancouver and Thomas R. Broderick of Dixon, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Schmidt enjoyed reading, clipping coupons and sewing for freinds.
The casket will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. There will be a private burial in park Hill Cemetery.
