A homemaker and resident of Vancouver since 1972, Dorothy "Dot" Jones, born Feb. 5, 1919, in Portland. Her maiden name was McMahon.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, E.R. Jones, at home; one daughter, Cherie Staehely of Vancouver; one son, Rick Jones of Vancouver; one sister, Margaret Crowe of Portland; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family service.

Phillip Kowcum

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Oakhurst Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, for Phillip Kowcum, who born June 28, 1912, in Minnesota and raised in Montana.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 701, for more than 50 years.
He worked on Hungry Horse and Fort Peck dams and in the Vancouver shipyards during World War II.
He loved to dance, bowl and watch baseball.
At one time he was very involved in activities at Luepke Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife, Mickey, at home; two daughters, Phillis Stephens and Sharon Shell, both of Vancouver; three stepdaughters, Louise Bush and Vicki Thurgood, both of West Richland, Wash., and Linda Sillito of Benton City, Wash.; two stepsons, John McDowell of McMinnville, Ore., and Stephen McDowell of Copalis Beach, Wash.; one sister, Amelia Miller of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Peter Kowcum of Portland; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Miss Lawrence attended Western Business College fashion school and was working at Salmon Creek Safeway store as a courtesy clerk.
She enjoyed art, sculpturing, cooking and sewing.
Miss Lawrence was died at Southwest Washington Medical Center of infection and septic shock Monday, May 22, 2000. He was 69.
A memorial Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Church and Dominican Priory in Portland. There will be a private inurnment in Willamette National born Nov. 24, 1930, in LaPine, Ore.
He was a road builder for Cascade Construction and Lakeside Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Ann, at home; 13 stepchildren; one sister, Elsie Makin of Moses Lake, Wash.; four brothers, Robert of Eugene, Ore., Roy of Redmond, Ore., Alvin of Bend, Ore., and John of Boise, Idaho; and 28 step-grandchildren.
An Army veteran of the Korean War he received three Bronze Stars.
Mr. Campbell enjoyed gardening and carpentry.

Battle Ground
A funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Battle Ground Baptist Church for Roy Scott Dunning, who born Sept. 11, 1960, in Vancouver and lived in Clark Count all his life.
He was a production worker at Frito-Lay.
His father, Richard, died in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette, at home; his mother, Roberta Dunning of Battle Ground; one daughter, Brandi Larson of Sequim, Wash.; one son, Derek of Battle Ground; three sisters, Teresa Henderson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Linda Palodichuk of Battle Ground and Julie Uskoski of Yacolt; and one brother, Steve Dunning of Anchorage, Alaska.
Burial will be in Park Hill died in Vancouver on Monday, May 22, 2000. She was 53.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Cady of Nelson, B.C.; one daughter, Jessica Latimer of Carson; one sister, Sandra Cady of Snohomish, Wash.; two brothers, Jack Cady of Spokane and Wilson Cady of Washougal; and two grandchildren.
Her body will be cremated. A celebration of life service begins at 5 p.m. Friday at the American Legion in Carson. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
