A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at East Vancouver United Methodist Church for Robert G. Kunkel, who Born June 24, 1944, in San Rafael, Calif., Mr. Kunkel lived in Clark County for 28 years.
He worked at Frito-Lay for 34 years, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his wife, Connie, at home; two sons, Kirt of Vancouver and Kevin of Camas; one brother, Rory of Lynnwood, Wash.; one sister, Marsha Erickson of Seattle; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Kunkel was a trustee and longtime Sunday School teacher at East Vancouver United Methodist Church.
Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

A 1988 Prairie High School graduate, Linda M. Lawrence, 30, born Nov. 5, 1969, in Vancouver and lived in Clark County all her life.
Survivors include her mother, Marian Lawrence of Vancouver; and one sister, Nancy Ann Lawrence of Vancouver.
A funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.

Dennis R. Mason

Dennis R. Mason, a 51-year-old salesman, born May 19, 1948, in Portland. He lived in Vancouver the past 25 years.
He liked attending the races, golfing and shopping at flea markets.
A service will begin at noon Friday at Finley-Sunset Hills in Portland.
Bonnie M. Purdem
Woodland
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Life Center Church in Woodland for Bonnie Mae Purdem, who born June 14, 1942, in Hanford, Calif.
Her husband, Jimmy R., died here Monday, May 22, 2000. She was 92.
Her husband, Ronal, died in 1996; and a son, Edward Smith, born Oct. 9, 1907, in Vancouver. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's business.
Survivors include one daughter, Edna Keller of White Salmon; one stepdaughter, Claudette Boone of Bend, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting doilies and bird watching.
A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Memory Memorial Park. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Arlen Stange II
Washougal
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Washougal for Arlen "Richard" Stange II, who born July 21, 1958, in Sacramento, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy, at home; one daughter, Michelle, at home; his mother, Violet Gaines of Vancouver; his father, Arlen Stange of Washougal; two sisters, Mary Merkel of Vancouver and Judy Stange of Washougal; and one brother, Leonard "Michael" Stange of California.
Mr. Stange, a Washougal High School graduate, enjoyed riding his snowmobile, boating and camping trips with his wife and daughter.

Yuton M. Benton

Yuton Marie Benton, who was a tour guide at the Japanese Garden in Portland, born Oct. 18, 1927, in Alfalfa, Okla.
She was a homemaker and a social case worker.
Mrs. Benton was a member of Hazel Dell Church of Christ and Republican Women.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening and singing. She also tutored students in reading.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Fred, at home; one daughter, Jean Benton of Portland; and two sons, Timothy and David, both of Portland.
A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Southwest Church of Christ in Tigard, Ore.

George M. Boyle

George M. Boyle, a retired apparel production worker at Pendleton Woolen Mills, born July 12, 1949, in Camden, N.J. He lived in Vancouver a short time and in Portland since 1973.
Survivors include his stepfather, Don Marble of Vancouver; and two sisters, Kathie M. Pederson of Vancouver and Barbara McGuire of Pennsauken, N.J.
The casket will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. A funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Private burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died in Vancouver on Monday, May 22, 2000. She was 77.
Her husband of 57 years, Melvin, died in 1965.
Mrs. Jeffries was a member of Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband on his business trips.

Mrs. Leest worked in the packaging department at the Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Camas for 29 years. She retired in 1991.
She was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Sweet Home, Ore.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosetta Melton of Vancouver; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Leest was a member of the Washougal Jehovah's Witnesses.
She enjoyed watching television.
