Adelma Peterson Saari

A teacher who enjoyed traveling, sports, social functions and neighbors, Adelma Peterson Saari born Dec. 9, 1908, in San Bernadino, Calif., and moved to the Vancouver area in 1914. She was an elementary schoolteacher in Battle Ground, Lakeshore, Hockinson and Alaska.
She was a member of the Fort Vancouver Historical Society and the Retired Teacher's Association.
She was preceded in Cemetery. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Raymond Lee Sanders Sr.
Camas
Raymond Lee Sanders Sr., born April 28, 1934, in Graham, Texas. He joined the Air Force and was stationed in England. After his discharge, he moved to Kennewick, Wash., and then to Camas. He worked there at the Crown Zellerbach paper mill as a craft cook until he retired in 1994.
He was a member of A.W.P.P.W. and enjoyed carpentry, his pet Macaw bird and collecting movie memorabilia.
Mr. Sanders was preceded in funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the service. Burial will follow at the Camas died Monday, July 31, 2000, in a Vancouver care center. She was 94.

Catherine Tsugawa
Woodland
Catherine Tsugawa born Nov. 8, 1953 in Portland, Ore. She graduated from Woodland High School in 1972 and lived in the Woodland area for most of her life.
Mrs. Tsugawa also enjoyed playing the piano.
She is survived by her parents, Akira and Himeko Tsugawa of Woodland, Wash., and two brothers, Dennis Tsugawa of Ridgefield and Jeff Tsugawa of San Jose, Calif.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Woodland Presbyterian Church.

John Gardner Young
La Center
John Gardner Young born Feb. 13, 1954 in Florence, S.C. He lived in Vancouver from 1973 until moving to La Center two years ago. He was a supervisor for the Northwest region Jiffy Lube stores.
Mr. Young enjoyed listening to music, writing poetry and stories, arts and literature, the outdoors, science fiction, watching movies and his "farm."
He was preceded in died Friday, July 14, 2000, after a car crashed into his home in Vancouver. He was 60.
Mr. Alexander was died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, of pulmonary fibrosis in Vancouver. He was 73.
Mr. Allred was died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in Vancouver of leukemia. She was 81.
Mrs. Hogan was death by her husband, William Hogan, in 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Eastman of Vancouver, and Dawn Moneypenney of Hudson, Fla.; a son, Kevin Hogan of Vancouver; two stepdaughters, June Falvey of Garden Grove, Calif., and Ruth Moats of Los Angeles; two stepsons, Michael Hogan and Gerald Hogan of Simi Valley, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A gathering will be held at the family home. Private inurnment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Monday, July 31, 2000, in Vancouver. She was 68.
Mrs. Hudson was death by two sons, Victor C. in 1999 and Mark A. in 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosanna Trekas of Kalama and Lisa Elliott of Crestline, Ohio; one son, Wade Hudson of Castle Rock, Colo.; one brother, Wayne A. Hendren of Spokane; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
No service will be held. Inurnment will be in Spokane.

Gladys R. King
Pacific City, Ore.
Gladys H. Roehrs King born June 16, 1914 in Remick, Miss. She lived in Vancouver from 1952 to 1982.
Ms. King worked for Jantzen Knitting Mills in Vancouver and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved the beach, feeding sea gulls and raising flowers in her green house.
She was preceded in died Thursday, July 27, 2000, in Vancouver. She was 87.
She was death by her husband, Harry A., in 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Kornberg, of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Anne Smith, of Portland; one son, Greg Kornberg of Vancouver; one sister, Alma Wallace of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; and three grandchildren.
A private memorial will be held. The Killingsworth Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland is in charge of arrangements.
