A Vancouver-area resident since 1982, Portus Idso born March 4, 1912, in Paulline, Iowa. He was a mechanic.
He was preceded in Cemetery for Hope Divine Kraus, who born Feb. 23, 1906, in Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Kraus graduated from Vancouver High School. She had lived in California before moving to Fort Collins seven months ago.
Mrs. Kraus was a teacher for the deaf for 15 years. She loved painting, ceramics, golfing, reading and world travel.
Her husband since 1937, LeRoy J., preceded her in Funeral Service in Fort Collins is handling arrangements.
Arnold Loraas
Vancouver
A member of the Vancouver Elks who enjoyed traveling and fly fishing, Arnold Loraas, 87, born Oct. 1, 1913, in Dunn County, N.D. He moved to Vancouver in 1930. Mr. Loraas had worked in the Puget Sound shipyards and also as an electrician for the Bonneville Power Administration from 1949 until he retired in 1973.
Mr. Loraas was a 50-year member of the IBEW union No. 125 and Masons. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, the Shriners hospital, where he was a clown, Eastern Star, camper ants, Southwest Washington Travelers, AARP and NARFE.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Harriett, at home; a daughter, Sharon A. Seybold of Camas; two sons, Dennis L. of Woodburn, Ore., and Arnold L. of Moscow, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The casket will be open until 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. A service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mill Plain United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in Portland. She was 90.
Mrs. Osborne was death by two husbands, Lt. Douglas Whittier and Wayne Osborne.
Survivors include three sisters, Evelyn Balgeman and Ellen Jones, both of Portland, and Eileen Hanley of Modesto, Calif.
A funeral will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas, which is also handling arrangements. Vault died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed garage sales, the outdoors, fishing and gardening.
Mrs. Ponder-Todd was Cemetery. Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Ervin R. Wolf

A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. today in the Garden of Apostles at Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in Vancouver. He was 82.
Mr. Wolf was died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in Ridgefield. She was 90.
Mrs. Allen was death by two husbands, George Haines and Ray Hansen.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Allen, at home; a daughter, Ann Chilton of Ariel; a son, David Haines of Ridgefield; two sisters, Alberta Haines of Vancouver and Frances Rains of San Francisco; two brothers, Ben Phillips of Mesa, Ariz., and Grant Phillips of Kenai, Alaska; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. today at Sara Union died of a gunshot wound to the head Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Southwest Washington Medical Center. She was 19.
Miss Blackwell was died of cancer Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at home in Vancouver. She was 58.
Mrs. Blake was death in 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonja Sauer of Dallas and Cheryl Penticoff of Vancouver; two sons, Jeff and Ted, both of Vancouver; a brother, Mike Shean; her stepmother and good friend, Hazel Stein of Vancouver; her special friend, Pete Kelly of Vancouver; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Disposition was by cremation. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.

James H. Blake
Temple City, Calif.
James Henry Blake, 62, born Dec. 19, 1938, in Dixon, Neb. He had lived in the Kelso-Longview area and spent 15 years in La Center. He resided in Temple City for 18 months before his death.
Mr. Blake was an education transportation supervisor for the Longview School District for six years.
He loved cars and engines and was active in the National Hot Rod Association.
Survivors include his mother, Iris Blake of Monrovia, Calif.; two daughters, Terry Austin of Redlands, Calif., and Jackie McCarter of Katy, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Blake of Los Angeles and Anita Pyle of Temecula, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was Sept. 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Monrovia.
Douglass & Zook Mortuary in Monrovia is handling arrangements.
