William E. Buell
Portland
A furnace repairman and active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Portland, William Edward Buell born Jan. 2, 1927, in Portland. He lived in Vancouver from 1994 to 2000 and spent most of his life in the Portland area.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Johnston Buell of Portland; two daughters, Ginny DeFosse of Washington and Leslie Johnston of Portland; a son, Kris Johnston of Portland; two sisters, Lois Biringer and Edith Cross, both of Seattle; and one grandchild.
A memorial service was Wednesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Portland. The body was cremated.
Young's Funeral Home in Tigard, Ore., is in charge of arrangements.
Velma E. Dettloff
Woodland
A lifelong resident of Woodland who loved gardening, fishing, traveling and camping, Velma Elaine Dettloff born Dec. 12, 1911, in Woodland. She worked in sales-clerical with Woodland Farm & Garden Feed Store.
She was preceded in Cemetery. Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Portus Idso
Vancouver
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at First Church of God in Vancouver for Portus Idso. Mr. Idso, 89, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Camas.
He served on the USS Pennsylvania in the Pacific during World War II and was a real estate salesman for Arden Realty. Mr. Johnson was a member of Vasa Order of America Harmon Lodge 474 of Portland and the Linnea Lodge of Portland.
Mr. Johnson was death by a son, Aaron, in 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Janet, at home; two daughters, Kerry Pettyjohn of Vancouver and Jodie Shepard of Seattle; a son, Russell of San Ramon, Calif.; two sisters, Eleanor Masse of Austin, Minn., and Clara Wiita of Wakefield; a brother, Jim of San Mateo, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Camas. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.

Roy L. Kadow
Vancouver
A retired longshoreman and World War II veteran, Roy Lenn Kadow born Nov. 21, 1915, in Vancouver. He was a lifelong resident of Vancouver, where he operated three boat marinas since 1948.
Mr. Kadow enjoyed bird hunting, clam digging, playing cribbage, family gatherings, and spending time with his dogs, Jet and Brown Dog, and on the docks at the marina.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 1774, American Legion Post 14, the Hazel Dell Elks Lodge and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 4. He also retired as a walking boss for Local 92.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Beulah, of Vancouver; two daughters, Gail Loron and Karen Kadow-Beitey, both of Vancouver; four sons, LeRoy, Lloyd, Steve and Scott, all of Vancouver; a sister, Violet Schalk of Vancouver; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Vancouver Landing Amphitheater. A reception will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 8205 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

Steven R. Robinson
Yacolt
A truck driver for Anderson Dairy for three years who enjoyed riding his motorcycle, Steven R. Robinson born April 24, 1952, in Vancouver. He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1971. He spent his life in the Clark County area and lived in Yacolt when he died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Vencor Rehabilitation in Vancouver. He was 89.
Mr. Ashmun was death by his wife, Emma, and his son, Ashmun Bickford.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Donohue of Coupeville.

Harriet Anton
Vancouver
A Vancouver resident since 1945, Harriet Anton born March 16, 1920, in Whiteheath, Ill. Her maiden name was Sides.
She worked as a secretary for transportation at Bonneville Power Administration.
Mrs. Anton belonged to the Henry Wentworth Chapter of Eastern Star No. 250, Order of Amaranth Court No. 43, Nydia Temple No. 4 Daughters of the Nile in Portland, and First Methodist Church in Vancouver.
She especially enjoyed her Vancouver mall walking group, flowers and gardening.
Her husband, Ivan, died of heart failure Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at his home.
He was 76.
Mr. Conway worked at the Washington State Employment Security Department until he retired in 1990. He also enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing the piano, physics and singing.
He was Cemetery.
Donna J. Goldsworthy
Vancouver
A reservations operator who enjoyed her grandchildren, Donna J. Goldsworthy born Feb. 9, 1940, in Portland. She lived in Vancouver for 29 years.
She was a member of Altrusa, Eastern Star and the east Portland chapter of Soroptimist International.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Richard of Vancouver; a son, Rick of Vancouver; three sisters, Betty Cunning of Vancouver, Pat Nash of Gresham, Ore., and Barbara Rhodes; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel.
