Roberta A. Wells

A memorial service was Sunday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel for Roberta Ann Wells, who born Nov. 24, 1924, in Kelso. She was a Vancouver resident before moving to Issaquah.
Mrs. Wells retired as a secretary at Fort Vancouver High School. She was a member of the Retired Secretaries Association and held several positions in local and state secretaries associations. She also volunteered at Washington Elementary School.
Mrs. Wells loved her family and enjoyed people.
Her husband, Robert E., preceded her in Cemetery in Portland.
Maxine M. Arrants
Vancouver
A Vancouver resident since 1964, Maxine Marie Arrants, 72, born May 10, 1929, in Spokane. Her maiden name was Wittkopf. She was a seamstress for Jantzen Inc.
Mrs. Arrants loved her Yorkshire Terrier, Cina. She was a member of Eagles Club 2158 and enjoyed dancing at American Legion Fun with Music at Carver, Ore. She also loved traveling in her RV, sewing, cooking, interior design and being with her family.
Mrs. Arrants was preceded in Cemetery.

Joseph C. Castrey
Vancouver
A retired lumber buyer and truck driver for Ace Building Supply, Joseph Coleman Castrey, 67, born Dec. 7, 1933, in Vancouver, where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1952.
Mr. Castrey was a sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, at home; six daughters, Tara Watts of Clackamas, Ore., Tristin McNabb of Puyallup and Tracey Marteeny, Toni Castrey, Tilly Meyer and Tiffany Frahm, all of Vancouver; three sons, Brad of Palos Verdes, Calif., and Bill and Blane, both of Vancouver; a brother, Jim of Vancouver; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Lutheran Church. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Virginia Kelly Cannard
Vancouver
A housewife and member of the Portland Symphonic Choir, Virginia Kelly Cannard born May 10, 1931, in Newberg, Ore. Her maiden name was Kelly. She lived in Clark County for 45 years.
Survivors include her husband, David, at home; a daughter, Kelly A. Cannard of Vancouver; a son, David of Washougal; a sister, Ella Mae Winans of Boise, Idaho; and two grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday and a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, both at the church.

Kathryn Davis
Vancouver
A doll collector who enjoyed making dolls, Kathryn Davis born July 6, 1902, in Friend, Ore. Her maiden name was Nickels. She was raised in the Sara area, near Ridgefield. When she was 36, she moved to Portland and became a beautician. She then lived in Hawaii and Southern California before moving to Vancouver in the 1970s.
Mrs. Davis enjoyed her flower garden, family and traveling. She was a member of Ridgedell Seventh-day Adventist Church in Ridgefield.
Survivors include five sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
A service will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church. Davies Cremation and Burial Services is in charge of arrangements.

Richard W. Garvey
Vancouver
A veteran of the Army, Richard W. "Dick" Garvey born April 15, 1916, in Walla Walla, and lived in Portland from 1923 to 1965. He lived in Vancouver for the past 36 years.
Mr. Garvey was preceded in Cemetery in McMinnville, Ore.

Kenneth D. Lorentz
Vancouver
A truck driver for Frito-Lay who enjoyed bowling, Kenneth D. Lorentz, 77, born April 13, 1924, in Dexter, Ore. He lived in Vancouver for 76 years and was a member of the Vancouver Moose Lodge and Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, at home; three children and three adopted children; two sisters, LaVonne Bowman of Colorado and Lois Watkins of Washington; four brothers, Richard of Canada and Donald, Glenn and Jerry, all of Washington; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The casket will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, and burial will follow at noon at Willamette National died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, in Portland. He was 73.
Mr. Miller was death by his wife, Bonnie, in 1979.
Survivors include his wife since 1980, Darlene, at home; a daughter, Cyndi Segrin of Vancouver; two sons, Randy Randall of Portland and Robert Randall of Hawaii; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
A celebration of life ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes funeral home in Portland. Burial with military honors will follow at 4 p.m. at Willamette National died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, in Vancouver, She was 65.
Mrs. Neal was death by her husband, Edward, in 1993.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Crimmons of Flower Mound, Texas, and Cynthia Cassetty of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sons, Clifford of Las Vegas and Curtis of Riverside, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be Saturday at Akes Family Funeral Home in Riverside, Calif. Burial will be in Riverside National died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, in Seattle.
Mrs. Wells was died in 1983.
Survivors include her fiance, George Fischer of Issaquah; a daughter, Julia Turner of Vancouver; two sons, John of Visalia, Calif., and Thomas of Sherwood, Ore.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was Sunday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
