Lois Jean Derrick, who retired in 1989, died in 1976.
Mrs. Derrick was died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, in a Portland hospital. She was 79.
Mrs. Dowd attended Syracuse and Cornell universities and earned a master's degree in public health nursing and education. She taught nursing at Johns Hopkins University and was director of nurses at Southwest Washington Health District and at Cowlitz-Wahkiakum Health District.
Mrs. Dowd enjoyed reading, flower gardening, tutoring, cooking and sailing.
She was died in 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Catherine Authier and Mary Matney, both of Vancouver; one son, Calvin Dowd of Longview; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Heights Church. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

John G. Fletcher
Vancouver
John Gordon Fletcher, a retired plumber, born May 14, 1921, in Derbey, England, lived in Vancouver the past 38 years.
He was a plumber in Vancouver and Portland for many years and a member of the Plumbers Union, Local 290, of Portland.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sylvia, at home; two daughters, Sandra Frydenberg of Bellingham and Carol Thackeray of Hockinson; one son, Anthony of Gresham, Ore.; one sister, Olly Fletcher of Derbey; one brother, Doug of Derbey; and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Fletcher, who was a veteran of the Royal Air Force in England, was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Portland for 40 years. He was also a deacon and elder at the church.
Mr. Fletcher loved soccer and played and coached for many years. He was one of the original investors in the Portland Timbers.
Mr. Fletcher also enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening and liked watching the birds and squirrels eat from the feeders in his yard.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Dec. 21, 2001, in a Clackamas, Ore., hospital. She was 70.
Her husband, Lyle, died in 1987.
Mrs. Fletcher was died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001, in Vancouver. He was 86.
Mr. Estep operated a television sales and service shop in Portland for 26 years with a partner, Al Ayers.
He was died in 1997.
He was an Army pilot during World War II and was shot down in 1944 over Yugoslavia.
Mr. Estep enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Brubaker of Tacoma; three sons, Richard of Vancouver, Steven of Edgewood, N.M., and Roger of Mount Vernon, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Alvina L. Genz
Vancouver
Alvina Lenora Genz, a homemaker who lived in the Vancouver area for 65 years, died in 1970. Her second husband, Bill Genz, died in 1998.
Mrs. Genz was died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, in Vancouver. She was 83.
Her husband, Fred J., born Jan. 30, 1918, in Dayton, Wash. Her maiden name was Phillips.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Mullica of Spokane; three sons, Pat of Ocean Park, Wash., Michael of Washougal and Kevan of Camas; one sister, Lela Griffin of Polson, Mont.; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Holdsworth enjoyed living near the Washougal River and watching sports.
There will be a service later. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.

Earl W. Rawlings
Estacada, Ore.
Former Vancouver resident, Earl W. Rawlings, born March 14, 1915, in Medford, Ore. He moved to Estacada four years ago.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Golda M., at home; three daughters, Sandra Ford of Temple, Texas, MaeBeth Snow of Vancouver and Dee Stith of Estacada; two sons, Bill of Vancouver and Louis T. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Rawlings enjoyed fishing.
A memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. There will be a private burial.

John B. Robinson

John Bane Robinson was found dead Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at home. He was 77.
Mr. Robinson was died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, in a local care center. She was 92.
Her husband, Michael, born July 22, 1909, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She lived in Vancouver 14 years.
She was a house mother at the School of Nursing at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Yakima. She was a Catholic and enjoyed reading, camping, crossword puzzles and card games.
A memorial Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Battle Ground. Davies Cremation and Burial Services is in charge of arrangements.
