Ellen H. Kase

A former Clark County resident, Ellen Hawkens Kase, born Jan. 30, 1913, in Braddock, Pa. She moved to the Redmond area in 1987.
She attended Duquesne University, studying English education and language and medieval literature. During World War II, Mrs. Kase worked for the War Department in Newport News, Va.
She moved to Vancouver when her husband of more than 30 years, George, worked for Alcoa. He Cemetery, both in Vancouver. Flintofts Issaquah Funeral Home in Issaquah is in charge of arrangements.

James R. Kosterman
Vancouver
James R. Kosterman, who was elected as a Port of Vancouver commissioner and served from 1986 to 1997, died Jan. 8 in a Portland hospital.

Martha S. Putty

A service will begin at 3 p.m. today at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Martha S. Putty, 45, who death has not been determined.
Mrs. Putty was a licensed practical nurse and worked five years at Arcadia Methodist Hospital in California. She retired 10 years ago because of a back injury.
She was Cemetery in Portland.
Dorothy A. Soboleski

A 14-year resident of Clark County, Dorothy Aileen Soboleski, born March 30, 1922, in Montreal, Quebec. Her maiden name was Corbin.
Survivors include one son, Richard Crawford of Vancouver; one sister, Colleen Corbin of Hemet, Calif.; one brother, Arthur Corbin of Marietta, Ga.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Franklyn J. Wright

Franklyn J. Wright, who worked at Alcoa for 30 years, born March 18, 1930, in Wibaux, Mont., and lived in Clark County for 65 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty A., at home; three sons, Mark, Michael and Rodney, all of Vancouver; one sister, Joyce Foust of Vancouver; one brother, John of Vancouver; and four grandchildren.
No service is planned. Inurnment will be at Willamette National died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, in a Vancouver care center. She was 75.
Her husband, Lester L., born Oct. 6, 1926, in San Francisco. Her maiden name was Beuttler.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori Wallick of San Diego; two sons, Lyle and Lee, both of La Center; one sister, Helene Rawlins of Tucson, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown enjoyed gardening and flowers.
A graveside service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Willamette National died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, at Southwest Washington Medical Center. She was 87.
Mrs. Bruketta was married her husband, Victor, in 1935, and they farmed in the Ellensburg area.
Her husband and three daughters preceded her in Cemetery, both in Ellensburg.
Jessie Bryan
Everett
Former Vancouver resident Jessie Bryan born Nov. 12, 1912, in Manhattan, Mont. She moved to the Vancouver area in 1938.
She attended Montana State College in Bozeman.
Mrs. Bryan was a member of Salmon Creek United Methodist Church since 1953.
She worked for the Vancouver School District as a school cafeteria manager and later as a bookkeeper at the district warehouse. Mrs. Bryan retired in 1977.
She was involved with the Vancouver Business Women, the Retired School Cafeteria Employees and participated in the Mature Learning program at Clark College.
Mrs. Bryan was a talented seamstress and loved oil painting, knitting and cooking.
Survivors include a son, Doug of Billings, Mont.; a daughter, Carol Biles of Snohomish; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in Cemetery in Everett is in charge of arrangements.

Jane A. Christ

Jane A. Christ, a Vancouver resident since 1949, born Feb. 16, 1932, in Virginia, Minn. Her maiden name was Bloomquist.
Survivors include her husband, Norman G., at home; five daughters, Roseanne Walgamott of Snohomish, Carol Arens, Mary Christ and Jamie Christ, all of Vancouver, and Jacqueline Heaslip of Sackets Harbor, N.Y.; five sons, Mark of Kirkland, Dominic of Alameda, Calif., and Patrick, Paul and Shawn, all of Vancouver; two brothers, Larry Bloomquist of Battle Ground and John Bloomquist of Vancouver; 28 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Christ was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved dancing, traveling, the ocean, sewing and crocheting.
Recitation of the rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
