Mr. Braaten owned a farm in North Dakota for several years before moving to Colorado, where he owned an orchard. He later was a business owner in the Pacific Northwest.
He enjoyed singing, dancing and playing pool.
Survivors include four sons, Larry of Oregon and Dennis, Gale and Brad of Vancouver; two daughters, Gloria of North Dakota and Cheryl of Oregon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Former Vancouver resident Linnea Maria Calhoun born July 3, 1924, in Vasa, Finland. She lived in Vancouver from 1973 to 1999 before moving to Portland. Her maiden name was Erikson.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, R. Dale, at home; one son, Gustav of Portland; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Calhoun was a retired bookkeeper.

He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Edith "Edie, " at home; one son, Herb K. of Portland; his twin, Charlotte Giffin-Bell of Coral Gables, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Giffin graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, and Southwestern Theological Seminary College in Fort Worth, Texas.

The casket will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Brown's Funeral Home in Camas. A funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
