A wake will be from 7 to 10 tonight at Paul's Restaurant for Clair Lewis Unger, who born June 6, 1939, in Coos Bay, Ore.
Mr. Unger was a retired longshoreman.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon R., at home; three daughters, Cheryl Thomas of Vancouver, Suzi Michaelson of Yacolt and Patricia Cook of Battle Ground; two sons, Chuck of Vancouver and Shawn of Battle Ground; one sister, Carol Unger of Portland; and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Local 4, the Moose Lodge and the Columbia Drag Boat Association.
Lewis I. Wood
Palm Harbor, Fla.
Former Vancouver resident Lewis Irwin Wood born Aug. 19, 1928, in Vancouver.
He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1946 and earned an associate degree from Clark College in 1948. He attended the University of California at Berkeley.
He joined the Naval Aviation Cadet program in 1949, and during his naval career, Mr. Wood flew F9F-2 jet fighters from the USS Antietam during the Korean War. He retired as a Navy captain in 1973 and later sold real estate.
Mr. Wood enjoyed tennis, golf and social bridge.
He was a member of the Vancouver Masonic Lodge and local and national associations of the Retired Officers Association.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dona, at home; one daughter, LuAnne M. Johnson of Orange Park, Fla.; one son, Michael L. of Klamath Falls, Ore.; and three grandchildren.
His body will be cremated. Curlew Hills Funeral Home in Palm Harbor is in charge of arrangements.
Fay W. Albers

Fay William Albers born March 21, 1913, in Donnelly Township, Minn.
After high school, Mr. Albers joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and later served with the Navy Seabees during World War II.
He worked in Hollywood as a handyman for a neighbor of Jimmy Cagney. Mr. Albers told family members that Cagney was quite personable. Mr. Albers also repaired small engines and lawn mowers.
Mr. Albers loved square dancing, painting and writing poetry.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no service. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. today at Straub's Funeral Home in Camas for Douglas Alan French, a truck driver, who born March 1, 1960, in McMinnville, Ore., and was raised in Washougal.
He worked as a carpenter before driving trucks for the past six years.
He liked singing and enjoyed motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, at home; one son, Stuart of Washougal; his father and stepmother, David and Norma French of Clatskanie, Ore.; his mother and stepfather, JoAn and Harris Parker of Vancouver; two sisters, Juliann Lewis of Vancouver and Lori Erickson of Brush Prairie; one stepsister, Mary Stewart of Portland; and three stepbrothers, David Parker of Mill Creek, Wash., Spencer Parker of Silverdale, Wash., and Roger Bryant of Vancouver;

Nellsia A. Gassaway

Former Clark County resident Nellsia Agusta Gassaway died in 2001, and a son, Richard, born Jan. 30, 1917, in Brule, Neb.
She was a welder in the shipyards during World War II, and operated restaurants in Oregon City and Portland from 1940 until retiring in 1972.
Mrs. Gassaway was an amateur painter and an excellent seamstress.
A service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Peake Memorial Chapel in Milwaukie.

Judy Gerber

Judy Gerber born Jan. 7, 1947, in Tacoma.
She graduated from Woodland High School in 1965. She worked for Fred Meyer for 24 years.
Mrs. Gerber enjoyed vacationing at Sunriver, Ore.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Al, at home; her mother, Betty Bethune of Portland; two daughters, Dee-Dee of Seattle and Lynn of Portland; one son, Gilbert of Denver; one sister, Janeen Nakazawa of Portland; four brothers, Mike Bethune of Kalama, Mark Bethune of Graham, Wash., Brian Bethune of Garland, Texas, and Paul Bethune of St. Helens, Ore.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Church of God.

A memorial gathering for Jason Wayne Miller will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Esther Short Park.
Mr. Miller born Aug. 5, 1966, in Portland and lived in Clark County most of his life.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Dale Smith of Oscada, Mich.; his father and stepmother, Jerry and Linda Miller of Vancouver; two brothers, Vaughn and Seth, both of Vancouver; one stepsister, Carrie Redifer of Lake Oswego, Ore.; and grandparents, Luella McCall of Vancouver and Hamilton and Thelma McCall of Portland.
Mr. Miller, who served in the Navy on the USS Ajax, loved the outdoors.
Tammy M. Springer

Tammy May Springer born July 15, 1958, in Roseburg, Ore., and lived in Vancouver since 1996.
Mrs. Springer loved riding her motorcycle, traveling, the beach and camping.
Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Dan, at home; her mother, Rae Sanders of Vancouver; one sister, Judy Griesel of John Day, Ore.; and one brother, Rick Baker of Albany, Ore.
A celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rose City Funeral Home in Portland.
Edith L. Stenlund
Woodland
Edith Longson Stenlund, who graduated from Woodland High School in 1938, born Aug. 10, 1920, in Woodland.
She had worked as a switchboard operator for Weyerhaeuser Timber Co. in Longview, raised raspberries, strawberries and chickens on her farm and was a waitress.
Mrs. Stenlund was a master gardener for 20 years at the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens in Woodland. She volunteered for several groups, including the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She was a member of the Woodland Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens.
Her husband, Mervin, Cemetery in Woodland. The casket will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Woodland Funeral Home and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Forrest Ellsworth Williams, who retired from the old Crown Zellerbach paper mill in Camas, born March 2, 1907, in Truckee, Calif., and lived in Camas since 1930.
Survivors include his wife, Elva, at home; and one stepson, Hugh MacDonald of Portland.
Mr. Williams enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a charter member of Orchard Hills Golf and Country Club.
There will be no service. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas was in charge of arrangements.
