Harry G. Rask

A private service was held for Harry G. Rask, 92, who born Oct. 26, 1910, in Elk, Wash., and lived in Clark County for 40 years.
He attended Washington State University and worked for Alcoa in Spokane and Vancouver for 40 years before retiring in 1973.
His wife of 70 years, Shirley, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in a local care facility. She was 83.
Mrs. Dunlap was a bookkeeper for several organizations and last worked for Pepperdine University. She retired in 1986.
Mrs. Dunlap was died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 86.
Mr. Bailly is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marceen, at home; two daughters, Cheri J. Bailly-Jacobs of Napa, Calif., and Daune M. Olson of Freeland, Wash.; one son, Kerry of Penngrove, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Bailly was died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 85.
His wife, Eileen M., born Nov. 12, 1917, in Big Sandy, Mont., and lived in Clark County the past 79 years. He worked at Swift's Packing Co. before he became a sewer inspector for Hazel Dell Sewer.
Survivors include one daughter, Noreen Gierloff of Vancouver; two sons, Richard of Yacolt and Raymond of Jacksonville, Ore.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gierloff enjoyed raising birds and had built many birdhouses. He liked working in his yard, gardening and farming.
Private burial will be in Northwood Park died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003, at home in Kent. He was 62.
Mr. Gordon was died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Vancouver.
She was died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, in a local care center. She was 94.
Mrs. Mark was died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 83.
His wife, Arlette, born March 6, 1919, in Waterloo, Iowa.
Survivors include three sons, David R. of Vancouver, Mark J. of Camas and Jason S. of Modesto, Calif.; two sisters, Lula Pappas and Elaine Paras, both of San Diego; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Paras, an Army veteran of World World II, earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Demetrius Greek Orthodox Church, Martin Masonic Lodge 624 and the Elks Lodge, all in Waterloo, Iowa.
There will be a service in Waterloo on Saturday at the church, followed by burial in Garden of Memories died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, in a local care center.
Mrs. Parrott was a kindergarten teacher for 25 years and had taught at Harney and Eisenhower elementary schools. She once was elected Teacher of the Year.
She loved flower gardening and sewing. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Her husband, Bruce, born Nov. 28, 1911, in Kansas City, Kan., and had lived in Vancouver since 1942.
Survivors include one daughter, Jan Holden of Vancouver; one son, Fred of Portland; one sister, Rebecca Cyrus of Macks Creek, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
Vancouver Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Pansy K. Brening-Niau

Pansy Kuumauleiokaainamalahini Brening-Niau, a care giver, born Oct. 17, 1948, in Kauai, Hawaii. Her maiden name was Haluapo.
Mrs. Brening-Niau lived in Kelso most of her life and for the past four months lived with her daughter.
Survivors include her parents, Georgiana and Charles Haluapo of Brush Prairie; one daughter, Gina Cline of Battle Ground; two sons, Eric Bull of Aberdeen, Wash., and David Bull of Walla Walla, Wash.; one sister, Josaphine Bull of Vancouver; two brothers, Charlie Haluapo of Ridgefield and George Haluapo of Brush Prairie; and six grandchildren.
She was a leader for Pacific Peaks Girl Scout Troop and a hula halau entertainer.
There will be a service at noon Saturday at Church of the Nazarene, 612 N. Fourth, Kelso.
Edward J. Budke
Vancouver
Edward John Budke, who had lived in Vancouver since 1979, born Nov. 20, 1922, in Whittier, Calif.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Beatrice, at home; one son, John of Vancouver; and one granddaughter.
Mr. Budke, an Army veteran of World War II, was a member of MacArthur Boulevard Christian Church.
He enjoyed deep-sea fishing and traveling and liked taking his granddaughter to figure- skating practice and watching her in competition.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, with private burial in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
