A Clark County resident for the last 39 years, Patricia Ardell Sage born June 25, 1924, in Pine City, Minn. Her maiden name was Decker.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Gordon, at home; one daughter, Donna Sage of Vancouver; one sister, Lorraine Becker of Hoodsport, Wash.; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Sage played the piano and organ and enjoyed tap dancing, bicycling, hiking and swimming. She loved to travel, especially in Europe.
A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memory Memorial Park. Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground is in charge of arrangements.
Eula M. Vail

A service will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Eula Mabel Vail, 96, who Cemetery.
Mrs. Vail, a homemaker, was died in 2001.
Survivors include one daughter, Lillian Poe of Vancouver; three sons, Ronald and Alyn Vail, both of Vancouver, and Richard of Prineville, Ore.; two sisters, Barbara Erland of Portland and Alice Hartshorn of Seattle; one brother, Raleigh "Bud" Lyda of Cloverdale, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vail was a member of Salmon Creek Grange, the Finnish Lodge, the Odd Fellows of Battle Ground and the International Longshoremen Workers Union Ladies Auxiliary.
Harley G. Walker

Harley G. Walker, who worked in building maintenance for the Vancouver Housing Authority, died in 1971.
He was Cemetery.
Gerald A. Gaynor
Reno, Nev.
Former Battle Ground resident Gerald A. Gaynor born June 13, 1929, in Chicago. He lived in Battle Ground for about 10 years.
He owned a construction company.
A son, Gerald A. Jr., preceded him in died Oct. 15, 2003, at her Elmo home. She was 80.
Mrs. Koitzsch, a homemaker, was died in 1988, and a son, Ronnie, Cemetery. There was a service in Hanna, Wyo.
Viola Maddux
Camas
A service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Stevenson for Viola Maddux, who born July 5, 1913, in Portland and lived in Home Valley, Wash., for many years. She also lived in Camas, Longview, Carson and in 1996 she moved to Vancouver to an assisted living home.
Her husband of 37 years, Isadore, death.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Hodgson of Vancouver, Barbara Morby of Washougal and Betty Adams of Carson; two sons, Gerald "Bud" of Home Valley and Ted of Corvallis, Ore.; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Maddux worked as a housekeeper and cook at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas for several years and also at St. Rose Catholic Church in Longview.
She was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Mrs. Maddux loved cooking big dinners for her family. She liked gardening, reading and shopping.
Burial will be in Carson died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Vancouver. She was 88.
Recitation of the rosary will begin at 11:45 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m. There will be a private inurnment at Mount Calvary born Oct. 24, 1914, in Portland and lived in Clark County since 1923.
She retired in 1984 from Don Rasmussen Co. in Portland after working there for 30 years.
She is survived by one sister, Marguerite Ireton of Ridgefield.
Miss Madden was a member of St. James Catholic Church. She loved sports, traveling and going out to dinner.

Earl L. Papenfuse

Earl L. Papenfuse, who owned Earl's Automotive Service in Hazel Dell for many years, born Dec. 31, 1923, in Mancoda, Saskatchewan, Canada. He lived in the Vancouver area for 56 years.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Lois, at home; three sons, Kaare of Battle Ground and Guy and Aaron, both of Vancouver; five sisters, Nyla Allen, Della Wilen, June Bauer and Vera Walter, all of Vancouver, and Myrtle Waser of Battle Ground; and seven grandchildren.
The casket will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church.

Wilber T. Scott

Wilber Turman Scott, 88, born Aug. 14, 1915, in Woodland and lived and farmed in Clark County for more than 40 years. He was also a state pelt trapper and excavating contractor.
He graduated from Vancouver High School in 1933, and in 1941 was selected to attend the National Farm Youth Foundation in Dearborn, Mich. He served as an Army paratrooper before attending Graham Scientific Breeding School in Portland in 1946.
Mr. Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling in his motor home.
His second wife, Karen, died of lung cancer Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at home in Portland. She was 40.
Mrs. Dunn, a homemaker, was funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Lighthouse Community Church in Gresham. Her body will be cremated.
