A 1971 graduate of Battle Ground High School and member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, Michael Melvin Homola, 50, Born Dec. 31, 1952, in Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. Homola had lived in Clark County for 37 years. He worked as a mason contractor and had owned and operated Custom Masonry for the past 11 years.
He enjoyed his family and many Christian friends.
Survivors include his wife Lynn, at home; six daughters, Michelle Hollett of La Center, Heather Wile of Sheridan, Wyo., Holly Massie of Vancouver, Kati Tanninen of West Richland, Wash., Kacie Ek of Amboy and Kenda Koch, at home; his parents, Melvin and Verda Homola of Brush Prairie; six sisters, Sandra Lindh of Battle Ground, Beth Korri of Lyle, Wash., Kathleen Aili of Duluth, Minn., Doreen Smith and Gretchen Kysar, both of Yacolt, and Janelle Kysar of Amboy; three brothers, Timothy of Battle Ground, Craig of Brush Prairie and Nels of La Center; and 20 grandchildren.
A funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church in Battle Ground. Burial will follow at Elim died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, in Vancouver.
Mrs. Muonio, whose maiden name was Naatus, was died in 1989.
Survivors include seven daughters, Arlys Degerman of Modesto, Calif., Faye Jones, Susan Cahill, Cindy Muonio and Carol Robinson, all of Vancouver, Julie Muonio of San Jose, Calif., and Kathy Muonio of Kings Beach, Calif.; four sons, William of San Jose, Paul of Crested Butte, Colo., Andrew of Mountain View, Calif., and Robert of Santa Clara, Calif.; five sisters, Maxine Benkert of Woodland, Grace Mandel of Beaverton, Ore., Agnes Geiszler of Bothell, Wash., Joan Fish of Long Beach, Calif., and Devonne Maclaren of San Jose; and 14 grandchildren.
A funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fourth Plain Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Elim died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at home. She was 69.
Mrs. Nyback was died in 2001.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra Nyback Rogers of Vancouver; one son, Dennis, of New York City; two sisters, Colleen Maier of Amboy and Kathleen Rose of Kennewick; one brother, Dale Galloway of Eureka, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Nyback, who attended La Center High School, was a member of Pioneers of Washington. She was a Democrat and worked for the party. She was an avid reader and loved driving her car.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel. The casket will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the service Monday. Burial will be in Northwood Park died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, in Vancouver.
Mr. Roberts was died in 1975.
Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Sack of Vancouver; one grandson; and special friends Julie and Joe Zamboldi of Battle Ground, Lisa Arieta of Vancouver, Pat Meyers of Vancouver, and Mari Moorehead of Bellflower, Calif.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Battle Ground Elks Lodge. Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground is in charge of arrangements.
Alvin R. Shepherd
Nampa, Idaho
Former Vancouver resident Alvin R. Shepherd born Feb. 26, 1926, in Olathe, Colo. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as a bishop, patriarch, home teacher and missionary.
A World War II veteran, he worked at Freightliner for 25 years and enjoyed gardening, the gospel and his family.
He was preceded in died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, in Vancouver. She was 80.
Mrs. Gates was Cemetery.

Mary E. Geil
Newberg, Ore.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cherry Grove Friends Church in Battle Ground for Mary Elizabeth Geil, who born April 4, 1922, in Los Angeles. She lived in the Battle Ground area for several years before moving to Newberg. Her maiden name was Reece.
Mrs. Geil, a homemaker, attended Cherry Grove Friends Church. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and reading her Bible.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Earl, at home; one daughter, Judy Schubert of Mesa, Wash.; four sons, Steven of Ridgefield, Daniel of Merritt Island, Fla., Joe of Mount Vernon, Wash., and David of Connell, Wash.; one sister, Barbara Kirk of Newberg; one brother, Gordon Reece of Portland; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Estelle A. Gory
Vancouver
A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Camas for Estelle A. Gory, who born May 1, 1906, in Newark, N.J. She moved to Prindle, Wash., as a youngster and later moved to Portland to work as a pharmacy assistant for many years. After retiring in 1971, Miss Gory moved back to Prindle and four years ago moved to Vancouver.
Survivors include two brothers, Joseph of Eugene, Ore., and Eddy of Otis, Ore.
Burial will be in Camas died at home Friday, Oct. 24, 2003. He was 57.
Mr. Herz, an asbestos worker, was died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 54.
He was Cemetery in Portland. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Sharon L. Kimble

A vigil service will begin at 7:30 tonight at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Sharon L. Kimble, who Cemetery. Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kimble was died in 1966.
Survivors include her husband, Henry O., at home; three daughters, Paula Lamb of Casper, Wyo., Catherine Childs of Silver Spring, Md., and Marcie Brown of Fairview, Ore.; two stepdaughters, Valorie Urbach of Vancouver and Candice Thorpe of Troutdale, Ore.; one son, Vincent Brown of Yacolt; one stepson, Raymond Kimble of Gresham; four sisters, Patricia Anderson of Ridgefield, Donna Bevens of Vancouver, Charlotte Gibson of Ocean Park, Wash., and Michelle Menz of Jackson, Ala.; one brother, Thomas Hashbrook of Vancouver; four grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.
A lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mrs. Kimble enjoyed the beach and traveling.
