A funeral Mass will begin at noon today at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Harvey E. Heller, who born April 27, 1918, in Warren, Minn., and lived in Vancouver the past 14 years.
Mr. Heller served in the Burma-China-India Theater during World War II.
He was a pilot for Flying Tiger Airline for 28 years before retiring in 1979.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Geraldine R., at home; one son, Randal G. of Keningston, Md.; three sisters, Ruth W. Ascott of Newport Richey, Fla., Edith Nicholls of Montgomery, Ill., and Elsie Mae Nicholls of Warren, Minn.; one brother, Raymond E. of Sun City, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Reagan C. Heller and Courtney D. Heller.
Beverly J. Herd
Vancouver
There will be a memorial service later for Beverly Jean Herd, who born June 10, 1942, in Grants Pass, Ore., and lived in Clark County the past 25 years. Her maiden name was Hamilton.
Mrs. Herd was a member of Camas Moose Lodge, Chapter 1492.
Survivors include her husband, Bob M., at home; one daughter, Tammy Crosslin of Wasilla, Alaska; two sons, William Crosslin and Thomas Crosslin, both of Vancouver; one sister, Arlene Huck of Medford, Ore.; one brother, Paul Hamilton of Medford; and six grandchildren.

Joann R. Hill

Joann R. Hill, a former foundry manager, born Dec. 9, 1926, in Ocean Park, and lived in Vancouver since 1954. Her maiden name was Mason.
Mrs. Hill was a member of Daughters of the Pioneers.
Her husband, Paul, Cemetery in Portland.

Linnea M. Jacob

Former Ridgefield resident Linnea M. Jacob born March 10, 1915, in Willow Springs, Calif. Her maiden name was Genrich.
She enjoyed traveling and visiting national parks.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Salomon of Lodi and Nancy Raymond of Folsom, Calif.; one son, Royce of Ridgefield; one sister, Gail Henderson of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
There was a private service and burial.

Dianna C. Moore-Tesch
Camas
Dianna Christine Moore-Tesch, 13, born Jan. 13, 1990, in Salem, Ore. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in December, 1997, and underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy and was cancerfree for five years. In March, she was diagnosed with a second tumor.
Dianna liked riding her bike, ceramics, crossword puzzles and using her computer. She loved animals and had four dogs, two cats and several chickens. Dianna was a fan of the Portland Trail Blazers and the Oregon Ducks.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Christy and Anthony Sabatini, at home; her father, Gary Tesch of Gervais, Ore.; two sisters, Alexis and Elliana, both of Camas; grandparents, Marlene Tesch and Ulan Moore, both of Gervais, and Dianna and Ted Long of Salem; step-grandparents, Cheri and Ron Sabatini of Keizer, Ore.; and great-grandmothers Mary Druery of Salem, Freda Rosa of Woodburn, Ore., and Mary Weddle of Salem.
A prayer vigil will begin at 7 tonight at Simon Funeral Chapel in Woodburn. A funeral Mass begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by a graveside service at Belcrest Memorial Park, both in Salem.

Mark C. Morell

A Vancouver resident since 1961, Mark C. Morell, born Dec. 13, 1919, in Manvel, N.D.
He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He had been a dietary assistant for the veterans hospital in Vancouver.
Mr. Morell enjoyed gardening, yardwork and his animals.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Sue Miller of Vancouver and Carol O'Dell of Portland; two stepsons, Pat Crader of Portland and Art Collamore of Vancouver; one sister, Ethel Brown of Tacoma; and two step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. There will be a private burial.

Michael L. Ross
Ariel
Michael Lee Ross, who worked as a timber faller for more than 35 years, born Feb. 21, 1947, in Bakersfield, Calif. He moved to Ariel from Chelatchie Prairie in 1988.
Mr. Ross enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include three sons, Mike and Reuben, both of Woodland, and Matthew of Auburn; one brother, Joe of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three sisters, Becky Buller of Bakersfield, Calif., Faith Hart of Sacramento, Calif., and Debby Workentine of White Salmon; two granddaughters; and his special companion, Judy Sund of Yacolt.
A funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Woodland Christian Church, followed by burial in Yale Funeral Service in Longview.
Gene C. Thompson
Vancouver
Gene Corday Thompson born Feb. 4, 1921, in Hot Springs, Ark., and lived in Vancouver the past seven years.
Mr. Thompson, a member of Mill Plain United Methodist Church, was a World War II veteran and served with the Army's 100th Hospital Company. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in action for driving supplies over the Burma Road. He was a member of the China-Burma-India Veterans Association.
He earned degrees from Tulane University, the University of New Mexico, the University of San Francisco and Idaho State University. Mr. Thompson was an actuary and safety engineer with several major insurance companies before becoming an independent personal lines insurance broker.
Survivors include his wife Lida, at home; one daughter, Michelle Craig of Vancouver; one son, Lindrel F. of Houston; one stepson, James F. Ewers of Tulsa; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be no funeral. Burial will be in Willamette National died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, in Ridgefield. He was 35.
Mr. Tiffany was died Nov. 16, 2003.
Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Phyllis A. Williams
Washougal
Phyllis Ann Williams born Aug. 15, 1924, in Oakland, Calif. She was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church in Camas and Clark County Genealogical Society. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and her home computer.
Mrs. Williams, a veteran of the Women's Army Corps, graduated from San Jose State Teachers College in 1950 and taught school in several states. She also taught overseas at international schools.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Ronald E., at home; one daughter, Terri A. London of Washougal; one son, Martin P. of Winston, Ore.; one sister, Janice Hansen of Concord, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
