Camas High School graduate Charles R. Sorweide Jr., 42, born Nov. 14, 1961, in Kirkland, Wash. He attended Central Washington University for two years before going to work for Kiewit Pacific as a laborer, labor foreman and heavy-equipment operator. In 1988, he began a career as a truck driver that lasted until 1995, when he went to work as a firefighter/EMT for the La Grande Fire Department. He and his wife, Carla, also owned and operated Carinci's Coils, a local footwear store.
Survivors include his wife, at home; one daughter, Kalean Sorweide of La Grande; two stepdaughters, Tara Horn of La Grande and Stephanie Volle of North Dakota; one stepson, Heath Horn of La Grande; his parents, Rollie and Sandy Sorweide of Kirkland; one sister, Shelby Zepernick of Puyallup; his grandfather, Euclid LaBrie of Redmond, Wash.; and one grandson.
A service will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the La Grande Church of the Nazarene. Daniels Funeral Home in La Grande is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be given to a music scholarship set up in his name at Community Bank and Klamath First, both in La Grande.
David H. Busby

A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton-Mylan Funeral Home for David H. Busby, 78, who born Sept. 29, 1925, in Stevenson and had lived in Vancouver since 1988. He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Smith-Reynolds Post 14.
He was retired from the General Telephone Co., where he had worked as a lineman, installer and in management.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Margaret J., at home; two daughters, Jo-Dee Rockwell of Issaquah, Wash., and Jan McCollum of Vancouver; five sons, Anthony E. Jones, and William and Kenneth Munson, all of Vancouver, Terry E. Jones of Barrow, Alaska, and Douglas Munson of Gladstone, Ore.; one brother, William N. of Troutdale, Ore.; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private at the Odd Fellows died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Southwest Washington Medical Center. He was 71.
Mr. Birch was died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 87.
His wife, Nadine, died Nov. 16, 2003, in a local care center. He was 91.
Mr. Cole owned meat markets in Clark and Cowlitz counties, owned Dolphin Marina in Camas and was the West Coast sales representative for Carver Boats until he retired in 1978.
He was died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, in Vancouver. He was 50.
He was a sales manager for Detroit Diesel-Allison.
Mr. Flaming was died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at home. She was 86.
Mrs. Gream, a bank teller, was death by her husband, Hayden C.; one son, Curtis N. McClain; and two stepdaughters, Bonnie J. Linden and Shirley A. Rodawald.
Survivors include one daughter, Karey E. Richards of Vancouver; three stepdaughters, Nellie McGilvory of Dix, Ill., Mary K. Vails of Benton, Ky., and Ruth C. Fortner of Herrin, Ill.; two stepsons, Johnny of Kansas City, Mo., and Carey of Henderson, Texas; one brother, Kelly Phipps of Peoria, Ill.; four grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 26 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A service will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Irvin Funeral Home in Centralia, Ill. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Thomas J. Shyduik

Thomas James Shyduik, a journeyman electrician, born April 19, 1964, in Windsor, Ontario. Mr. Shyduik lived in Vancouver off and on for a couple of years in the 1990s.
Survivors include his mother, Sylvia Shyduik of Portland; his father and stepmother, Edward and Dottie Shyduik of Vancouver; one sister, Holly Shyduik of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and his stepsister, Tammy Kropp of Vancouver.
A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes in Portland.
LaMerne R. Strack
Vancouver
LaMerne Rae Strack, a Vancouver resident since 1989, born April 9, 1926, in Oakes, N.D.
She was a preschool teacher and worked with Head Start for 14 years.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert H., at home; one daughter, Susan Pellegrini of Everett, Wash.; one son, Robert D. of Everett; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stack had a music degree from the University of Montana and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved playing the piano and organ, and traveling with her husband in their motor home.
Her body will be cremated. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mark T. Sullivan

A memorial service will begin at noon Wednesday at Liberty Bible Church for Mark Todd Sullivan, who born Feb. 25, 1962, in White Salmon, Wash., and lived in Vancouver since 1968.
He graduated from Evergreen High School, Northwest Nazarene College and Washington State University Vancouver. He was a member of Liberty Bible Church and loved cooking, reading and going to the beach.
Private burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at home. She was 76.
Mrs. Vogel was death.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Louis Sr., at home; one daughter, Susan Januscheitis of Longview; two stepdaughters, Vicki Potter of Gold Canyon, Ariz., and Diane of California; one son, Scott Ferguson of Ariel; two stepsons, Louis Vogel Jr. of Woodland and Craig Vogel of Vancouver; two grandsons; eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Woodland High School in 1945 and from Longview Community College in 1962 as a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Vogel worked at the Longview hospital, a nursing home and a pediatric clinic.
She Cemetery in Woodland, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Woodland Baptist Church, 1808 Lewis River Road, Woodland.
