Alice Waser

A lifelong Clark County resident, Alice Waser born Oct. 14, 1934, in Yacolt. Her maiden name was Schubert.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Albert Waser Sr., at home; three daughters, Helen Russell and Joyce Heasley, both of Battle Ground, and Phyllis Brossard of Brush Prairie; one son, Albert "Bert" Jr. of Amboy; two sisters, Ruth Koplin of Oreana, Idaho, and Dorothy Parnell of El Centro, Calif.; two brothers, Clair Schubert of Allen, Neb., and Kenneth of Medford, Ore.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Waser liked gambling in Reno and fishing. She had been involved with Campfire Girls when she was younger.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground, followed by burial in Brush Prairie died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, in Hood River. She was 76.
She was died Nov. 9.
There will be no service. Gardener Funeral Home in White Salmon was in charge of arrangements.
Virginia M. Beale
Thornton, Iowa
Former Vancouver resident, Virginia M. Beale, born April 19, 1923, in Thornton. She lived 40 years in Vancouver and moved to Thornton 13 years ago.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church in Vancouver, she enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening and reading.
Her husband, Jack, died of cancer Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at home. He was 49.
Mr. Beatty, who loved hiking, was died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Mason General Hospital in Shelton. He was 81.
Mr. French had been a coach and teacher in La Center and a principal at La Center High School. He last worked as superintendent of the Mary M. Knight School District in Elma.
He was Cemetery in Portland for Gerald Michael Groves, who born June 30, 1957, in Sterling, Colo., and lived in Clark County for the past 15 years.
Survivors include one sister, Cheri Lewis of Las Vegas; and one stepsister, Toni Wagner of Cairo, Egypt.
Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Sharyn L. Roberts
Vancouver
Sharyn Lea Roberts, a Vancouver resident for the past 40 years, born Feb. 20, 1939, in Aberdeen. Her maiden name was Smith.
She was a member of Columbia Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald W., at home; one daughter, Michele R. Kinney of Vancouver; two sons, Michael G. of Vancouver and Jeffrey L. of Tigard, Ore; her mother, Marjorie M. Smith of Aberdeen; one brother, Don Smith of Pleasanton, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel. Her body will be cremated and her remains placed in Park Hill died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in La Center. She was 59.
Mrs. Morford was died Oct. 18, 2003, at home of breast cancer. She was 56.
Mrs. Smith was Cemetery in Kalispell. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver was in charge of arrangements.
James E. Beatty
Washougal
James E. Beatty, an engineer who worked in heavy construction, born March 27, 1954, in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, Linda S., at home; two sons, Jay H. and Joshua J., both of Washougal; two sisters, Judy Kayden of Ohio and Gloria Redmond of West Virginia; and three brothers, Butch Demonico of Maryland, Jack Beatty of Vancouver, B.C., and Sam Beatty of Virginia.
His life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at the family home in Washougal. Davies Cremation and Burial Services is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to any hospice.
Florian J. Golik
Woodland
Florian J. "Dugan" Golik, a Woodland resident for the past 41/2 years and an avid fisherman, born Aug. 8, 1911, in East Helena, Mont., and was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Knights of Columbus and St. James Parish.
His family and faith were very important to him.
Survivors include his wife since 1943, Elizabeth of Vancouver; a daughter, Carol LeCompte of Kennewick; three sons, Robert of Dickinson, N.D., Tim of Ridgefield and Daniel of Vancouver; two sisters, Ann Knutsen of Beaverton, Ore., and Mary Sherman of Valier, Mont.; two brothers, Ed of Spokane and John of Salem, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 11:45 a.m. Monday, with a funeral Mass at 12:10 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. James Acre cemetery, 302 W. 11th St., Vancouver, WA 98660.
