Former Clark County resident James Harold Price born Jan. 10, 1917, in Sevierville, Tenn.
He was a union representative for International Aluminum Workers Union and retired in 1977. He had also worked at Alcoa for many years.
A son and two grandchildren preceded him in Cemetery in Ridgefield. The casket will be open from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
James G. Thornberry
Vancouver
James Grant Thornberry born Aug. 8, 1929, in Walsenburg, Colo. He moved to Vancouver about 30 years ago and was a vice president of Electronics Speciality.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joan, at home; two sons, Michael Hanes of Lake Forrest, Calif., and Bradley J. Thornberry of Vancouver; one sister, Marge Johnson of Enumclaw, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
There was no service. Davies Cremation and Burial Services was in charge of cremation.
Orlando C. Bennard
Vancouver
Orlando C. Bennard, 89, born Feb. 3, 1915, in Spokane and lived in Clark County for about 20 years.
He was very social and loved music. He and his wife, Waive, were died Sunday, May 23, 2004, at home.
Mr. DeFrees, a designer at Intel, was died Saturday, May 22, 2004, in Vancouver. He was 78.
He was death by his wife, Elizabeth M., in 1994.
Survivors include four daughters, Elizabeth Fritz of Woodland, Doris Squeri of Gilroy, Calif., Margaret Hanks of La Center and Nancy Carmona of Eagle, Idaho; one son, Stephen of Ridgefield; one brother, Ed of Palo Alto; and five grandchildren.
There will be no service. Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel is in charge of final arrangements.
Kenneth E. Kowarsh
Vancouver
A service will be later for Kenneth E. Kowarsh, who born Jan. 5, 1912, in Seattle and lived in Vancouver since 1946.
He had owned a Mobil gas station. Mr. Kowarsh enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading, playing cards and bowling.
His wife, Norma R., died May 20, 2004, in a Portland hospital. She was 83.
Mrs. Pratt was married. Mrs. Pratt was a Jehovah's Witness.
Her husband, Albert, and a daughter, Laurel, preceded her in died May 20, 2004, at home. She was 59.
Mrs. Smick was died in 1997.
Survivors include one brother, Lester Kauppi of New York Mills; one stepdaughter, Lynette Smick Klienfeldt of Salinas, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
There will be no service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Emil Anderson
Salem, Ore.
Former Vancouver resident, Emil "Andy" Anderson, born Feb. 16, 1916, in Appleton, Minn., and moved to Vancouver in 1919. In 1949 he moved to Salem.
A steamfitter and welder, he retired in 1981.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union 290.
He was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Louise, at home; three daughters, Dorothy Schoonover of Medford, Ore., Mabel Howe of Cottage Grove, Ore., and Jeanette Young of Salem; one son, Bradley of Springfield, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. today at Virgil T. Golden died Dec. 31, 2003.
Patricia A. Farnsworth

A service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Laurelwood Baptist Church for Patricia Ann Farnsworth, who born Aug. 14, 1952, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was a house manager for mental-health facilities.
Survivors include her husband, Richard C., at home; one daughter, Cristina Farnsworth of Marysville, Wash.; one son, Charles of Vancouver; one brother, Mark Hudson of Lynnwood, Wash.; and two sisters, Michelle Haag and Roberta Poletes, both of Edmonds, Wash.
Mrs. Farnsworth enjoyed quilting, crafts and church activities.
Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Diann J. Johnston
Ridgefield
Diann Jean Johnston, who loved to play the accordion and make Norwegian pastries, born Jan. 18, 1940, in Portland. She lived in Clark County her entire life. Her maiden name was Elgin.
Survivors include two daughters, Dori E. Lambert of Ocean Shores, Wash., and Debbie Raffelson of Ridgefield; one son, James "Rob" Johnston Jr. of California; one sister, Marie Parks of Vancouver; two brothers, Carl G. Elgin and Gary O. Elgin, both of Vancouver; 10 grandchildren; and her caregiver, Don Krause of Ridgefield.
Mrs. Johnston was a host volunteer for 20 years in the Ridgefield School District. She was a member of Pekin Ferry and Salmon Creek granges, Vancouver Moose Lodge and Columbia River Old Time Strings. She liked her daily walks.
A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Community United Methodist Church in Ridgefield, followed by burial at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vancouver. The casket will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground.
