Louise Bea STREET
Was born March 3, 1912, in Rocheport, Missouri. She and her husband Charles made their home in Seattle from 1939 to 1998 when they made a move to Stanwood, Washington to be near their daughter and her family. Louise was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her three brothers, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Judy Fair of Guadalahara, Mexico, her daughter Shirley and her husband Brian Toshner of Camano Island, Washington, and grandsons Michael Fair and wife Brigid of Corales, New Mexico, Daniel Toshner and Samuel Toshner of Camano Island, Washington. Louise attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO., where she was awarded her teaching certificate. During her early married
life she taught in one room schoolhouses in rural Missouri. After her two daughters were in school, her innate interest in helping others led her to the health care field. She started as a nurse's aid at Pinehurst Sanitarium in Seattle, Washington, and eventually worked her way up to Nursing Home Administrator. She served in several facilities including Kirkland Convalescent, Dorian Nursing Home, and Royal Care Center. Even as an Administrator, she could be found in a patient's room giving hands on care. Her forte was taking care of what needed to be done and no job was too humble. Her family and friends will fondly remember her as "The White Tornado" as cleanliness was next to godliness in her personal code of ethics. We are also convinced that in our life times we will never eat a better piece of fried chicken than that which she graciously prepared and elegantly served.
