Sallie P. DRAKE
Sallie P. DRAKE, 76, passed away November 17, 2001.
Sallie was born March 17, 1925 in Cottonwood, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in 1994 and sister, Lois Madden, August this year.
Sallie is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Peter) Kwast; son, Lee Drake; 4 grandchildren, Erich (Shelley), Paul, Ryan (Lisa), Aaron (Yuhn-Sook); 3 great grandchildren, Kaylie, Nicholas, Skyler, and sister, Bonnie Flinn.
Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2001, at Evergreen Me morial Park.

Mary-Elizabeth (Dixie) EDWARDS
Dixie Edwards was born in Cortez, Colorado on April 27, 1915. After 86 wonderful years, Dixie passed away on November 23, 2001 in Seattle, WA after a short illness. In September, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Herb Edwards. While growing up, Dixie lived in Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey and in India for several years. She traveled around the world with her parents because her father, Ernest Tuck, was a Methodist minister and missionary. Dixie attended Oberlin College in Ohio for one year, then transferred to the College (now University) of Puget Sound after her mother and father moved to the Pacific Northwest. At UPS she met Herb and graduated in 1936, achieving a Sociology degree with minors in Psychology and History. Dixie was on the Honor Roll, held offices in student government and in her sorority, was President of Mortar Board, May Queen, and was elected to 'Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.' Honors also included an award from the American Association of University Women given to an outstanding senior student and she was a member of Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society and Pi Gamma Mu National Social Science Honor Society. Dixie also attended the University of Washington Graduate School of Social Work. From 1937-41 Dixie was a caseworker for the Pierce County Welfare Dept. in Puyallup, the Family Welfare Association in Tacoma, and the Family Counseling Service of Seattle. She also was an adult education instructor from 1960-67 in the Family Life Education program of the Seattle Public Schools, which later became part of the Seattle Community College system. Dixie enjoyed participating in the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter G of which she was a member since 1960 and during which time she held many elected offices. Since 1944, Herb and Dixie were members of the University United Methodist Church in Seattle. They also enjoyed many years of square dancing as members of the Country Cousins. Three years ago, the Edwards' established the Herb and Dixie Edwards Unrestricted Endowed Fund at the University of Puget Sound. Avid travelers, Herb and Dixie visited dozens of countries over the years and for the past 15 years they enjoyed living at The Hearthstone near Greenlake. A devoted mother and wife, Dixie will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Dixie is survived by her three children: daughters Lynn Miller, Edmonds, WA.; and Jan Wilson and her husband Dean, Tucson, AZ.; and son Carl Edwards and his wife Deena, Petaluma, CA. She has six grandchildren - Carla, Eric, Dan, Shawn, Melanie and Brian and one great-grandson, Terrance - who all will miss her dearly. Dixie is interred next to her beloved husband Herb at the Old Tacoma cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Dixie had asked that friends send donations to University United Methodist Church, or to P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter G (attn: Treasurer, 22018 - N.E. 137th St., Woodinville, WA. 98072), or to a charity of their choice. Evelyn Louise ELDRIDGE
June 8, 1926 - November 19, 2001
In loving memory of Evelyn Louise Eldridge who passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was born in Sunny side, Washington to Louise and Howard Dun can. She is survived by one sister Betty Di Grazia, one brother Howard Duncan, one nephew Michael A. DiGrazia and two nieces Susan Barnes and Janine Duncan. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews as well as three great-great-nephews. Evelyn worked for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone for 34 years until her retirement on June 30, 1981. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. Services will be held Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 a.m. at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial, 16445 Pacific Hwy. Mildred V. ERICKSON, 83 formerly of Seattle, died Sunday November 18, 2001.
She was born January 9, 1918 in Crookston, Minnesota.
Mildred worked for the Boeing Cafeteria.
Memorial services will be held in April and will be announced in a future paper.

Joan "JoAnn" ESLINGER
Joan Eslinger, 63, of Sumner, WA. was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at 2:20 a.m. Following a 5 1/2-year courageous battle with breast cancer. She requested a private service following cremation. Her ashes will be buried at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park, Bellevue, WA. Her family requests instead of flowers that donations be made to Franciscan Hospice, PO Box 1502, Tacoma, WA. 98401 for the excellent support and care they extended to Joan and her family during the past six months. Joan was born September 4, 1938 in Galesburg, Illinois. She came to the Pacific-Northwest in 1964. She worked at Maynard (now Seattle General Hospital) as a Supervisor/Manager of the business office. In 1974 Joan went to work for the University of Washington at Harborview Medical Center in the purchasing department. She retired several years ago as a senior buyer after a long career. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Rose and Morrison Eslinger. (Obit dated 11/21/2001.)

Danna Marie FARRELL, 40, of Bellevue died Nov. 15. at Overlake Hospital from complications associated with a chronic debilitating disease. Born in Joliet, IL on May 25, 1961, Danna was a loving Mother, Daughter and Sister. She had a caring heart for all of her friends. She was a naturally gifted Elementary School teacher and was employed by private and public schools for sixteen years. She had a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Washington. Danna was raised in National Parks as a child. She often spoke of her love for the Lake Quinault area where her family resided for several years. Danna is survived by her two sons, Brendan 17 and Tyler 9, parents Eve and Dan Farrell of Coulee Dam, sisters, Katie, Rachel and Jennifer and Frederick Bushby, father/guardian of her sons. Danna (Mom) we will miss greatly your Love, spirit, touch, sense of humor, the sound of your voice, stubbornness, beauty and caring heart. There will never be another like you. You are one of a kind. Born in Forsyth, Montana, January 28, 1917. passed away November 19, 2001 in Seattle, WA. preceded in death by Peggy, his wife of 54 years and beloved mother to their son, Harvey (Marion) and two daughters, Shirley and Nancy. He is survived by a sister, Eleanor Halcrow (Harold), and his grandchildren, Tracy Young and Gene Fearn (Shary) and great grandchildren, Austin Young and Jacob Daniel Fearn. He worked as an accountant for 30 years, most not ably at Lynden Transport Inc. Glen O. FENSTERMACHER, 88 of Auburn, died Thursday, November 22, 2001. He was born February 13, 1913 in Amherst, Nebraska. Glen is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gertrude, Three daughters Glenda (John) Morris, Gladys (Ed) McElhaney, Donna Rittenhouse, one son Ron (Mary) Fenstermacher, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two sisters Juanita Crosier, Lucille Maul, and two half brothers Harley and Harland Selmer. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2001 Funeral Services will be 12:30 Tuesday, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 16445 Pacific Hwy So. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Federal Way Fire Department station #4.
W. Carl FIELDS
W. Carl Fields was born August 16, 1905 in Kansas City, MO. and died November 17, 2001 at Mount St. Vincent where he resided for four years. He is survived by his daughter Barbara (Bobbe) Jorgensen; granddaughter, Kristina Anderson; great granddaughter, Lesley Yager, all of Seattle and nephews Bill and Marshall McLeod of Tacoma. His career in the aircraft industry began with Boeing in the "Red Barn" and ended at Cape Kennedy where his contribution to the space program helped put man on the moon.
