Madison Grace Woods BERGGREN

Madison Grace Woods Berggren, cherished daughter of Dan and Cara Berggren of Gig Harbor, WA was born May 3, 1996. She died peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2002. Mady was a student at both Sunrise and Artondale Elementary and Noah's Ark Preschool. She was an imaginative and artistic child who had a unique love for others that was expressed in numerous and marvelous ways. She loved to entertain, dress up and shower love and affection on every one. Madison possessed a solid and contagious faith in Jesus. She will make a beautiful angel. Mady is also survived by her grandparents, John and Hope Bergren, Evan and Donna Woods, and Mary Ann St. Louis; great-grandparents, Earl and Frances Brissman; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and her dog Tekoa. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran College Chapel, 4221 - 228th Avenue SE, Is saquah, Washington. Donations can be made to the Madison Berggren Fund at any Bank of America branch. Theodore "Ted" S. BERRY

Ted came into this life to Dorothea and Ted, Sr. May 27, 1939. Ted worked for the Boeing Company for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He is survived by his mother Dorothea McRae, brother Jack (Kathy) McRae, wife Judy, sons Ted (Karla), Rob (Lisa) and Jim, and four grandkids Monika, Kamryn, Zachary and J.J. Memorial Service Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Acacia Funeral Home Chapel, 14951 - Bothell Way N.E., Seattle. Wake to follow at the Bothell American Legion Post from 1 to 5 p.m. Remembrances to Virginia Mason Medical Center Support of Cancer Research. (Obit dated 05/29/2002.)

Gordon Newell BOONE

Born 1930 in Chehalis, Washington, died May 25. He was a graduate of the University of Washington. He served as a first lieutenant in the United States Infantry during the Korean War. He was twenty years with Seattle First National Bank and twenty years with commercial real estate in Seattle. He was a member of the Men's University Club of Seattle, the Seattle Tennis Club and a life member of the Seattle Yacht Club. Survived by Laura Floan Boone, his wife of 22 years, four children Thomas D. Boone, Terry Delanne Boone, Cynthia Lynn Boone and William Duffy Boone, three grandsons Dexter and Daniel Wallis of College Park, Maryland and Thomas D. Boone, Jr. of Seattle, and four step children Robin Helen Johnson, Elisabeth McKee, Andrea Osvold and Allan F. Johnson, all of Seattle. He is also survived by his sister Armilda Boone Harley of Long Lake, Minnesota, and his brother John Daniel Boone of San Marino, California. Memorial Service will be held at the University Congregational Church on Thursday, May 30 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance or Ducks Unlimited. Arthur E. BOSTOCK

Age 93, passed away in Shelton on May 26, 2002. He was born on October 24, 1908 in Seattle. He worked for many years as a truck driver. Mr. Bostock is survived by children, Grace Sexton, Eugene Bostock; grandsons, Robert Sandell, Errol Sexton, Michael Snyder, sister, Mary Rose Stockwell; and by many relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bostock, and grandson, John Sandell. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2002, 12:00 Noon at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Au rora Ave. N., Seattle. Interment icon will follow at Washelli cemetery. Eleanor BOULANGER
1910-2001

Wife, Mother, Member Alaska Yu kon Pioneers. Born in Minneapolis, moved to Billings, MT. then to Seattle in the 20's. She married , moved to Nome, AK. in the 30's, returning then to Seattle. In the 40's she moved to Prince Rupert, B.C. and then onto a pristine lake in BC. From the 60's, on she enjoyed her home at the lake. She was predeceased by husband Julian in 1962 and is survived by sister Barbara, sons, Norman in B.C., Ted in NV, and Mike in WA. There are 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ashes will be interred at gravesite on June 1, 2002, 11:00 a.m., Riverton Crest cemetery, 3400 S.140th St., Tukwila, WA. (Obit dated 05/29/2002.)

Eileen Mary BROOKES

Eileen was born in Balmain, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, to Helena and Charles Woodford on March 25, 1929. She went to be with Jesus on May 16, 2002. She lived in Canterbury, N.S.W. for all her early years, until she married John on January 24, 1953. They were blessed with five children: Chris (who is married to JoAnn), Tony (who is married to Rusti), Mark (who is married to Barbara), Anne, and John, as well as grandchildren, Melissa, Derrick, Nicole, Natalie, Angus, Jamie and Chase. After her marriage, they moved to Brunei, in Borneo, for three years and then to Saskatchewan in Canada before settling in Mountlake Terrace and then Edmonds, Washington. Eileen was a happy person, who truly loved and cared for every person she met. She was truly interested in everyone and gave them a wonderful smile with her lovely blue eyes. She always gave her complete attention to whomever she was with. Eileen was a beautiful dancer who loved to dance, especially rumbas, quicksteps and waltzes. She was an excellent tennis player. Eileen also loved to travel; John and Eileen made many ocean voyages all over the world and traveled extensively in Europe. Eileen was the most perfect lady a man could ask for - she was loving, caring, honest, virtuous, modest and generous. She is my beloved wife. (Obit dated 05/28/2002.)

Ernest G. BROWN, Jr.

Born of Ernest G. Brown Sr. and Mary Catherine Shaffer in Morgantown, West Virginia March 27, 1937, passed away on May 23, 2002. Ernie resided in LaConner, WA. and San Carlos, Mexico. He is survived by one brother Allen Brown of Morgantown, W. Va., one sister Roberta Hall of Reedsville, W. Va., one daughter Kellie Passaretti of Mission Viejo, CA., two sons Mitchell Brown of Lodi, CA., Ernest (Chip) Brown III and wife Stephanie of LaConner, WA., five grandchildren, fiancée Candy Lindquist, and many wonderful friends and family. Ernie graduated from University High School, West Virginia in 1955 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 - 1959. He was married to Jaqueline Lyon from 1961 to 1997. Ernie was an entrepreneur and inventor, co-founding Advanced Digital Information Corporation in Redmond, WA. (an INC. Magazine top 500 fastest-growing private companies). He was also a contributing partner to numerous other companies and projects. Ernie was happiest being on the water; he loved boating, and was an avid fisherman of salmon in Neah Bay to marlin in the Sea of Cortez. Ernie was a very loving and giving man whose sense of humor shined until his last day. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, May 29, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Swinomish Yacht Club, 310 - 1st St., LaConner, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LaConner Boys and Girls Club. (Obit dated 05/28/2002.)

Mary Jeanne Fraser BRYANT

With family and close friends by her side, Mary Jeanne died peacefully in her sleep at her home on May 23, 2002. Mary Jeanne fought a brave and spirited battle with lung cancer, maintaining her grace, beauty and dignity to the end. She was born on December 10, 1929 at Nyack on the Hudson, New York to the parents of Harry and Helen Fraser. She grew up in a community outside of New York City with neighbors and friends in the arts that included actress Helen Hayes and cartoonist Milton Canife. She worked at Lord and Taylor in New York City, before moving to San Francisco, California in 1948 where she worked and modeled at I. Magnin. She later moved into management in retail, before meeting and marrying architect Carl Bryant. Mary Jeanne and Carl settled into an original Eichler home built among cherry orchards in Sunnyvale, California where they raised their three children. She moved with her family to Mercer Island in 1971, where she lived up to her death. Mary Jeanne was devoted to her family, but her caring and great love for people extended to her community and friends. She had a sharp wit and kept people laughing up to her last few days. Her passions in life included gardening, travel, reading, and fashion. MJ also had a sense of magic about her and loved to tell stories. In her stories to children, she would talk of the fairies and elves that lived among the flowers in her garden. She was a member of the Nom d'plum Book club, and Unit 41 of the Arboretum Foundation. She was a Deacon and Stevens Minister for the Mercer Island Presbyterian Church. Mary Jeanne leaves behind her husband of 45 years, Vernon Carlton Bryant, Jr. In addition she leaves behind her children, David Fraser Bryant of Seattle, Andrea Paige Stevens and her husband Timothy Stevens of Bellevue, and John Lancaster Bryant of Bellevue. She also leaves behind many relatives, dear friends, and four godchildren. Services will be held at June 6, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mercer Island Congregational Church. A Gathering will take place following the Services in Mary Jeanne's garden. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation or the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Clinic. Bruce Floyd CARPENTER

Bruce Floyd CARPENTER, age 52, of Los Gatos, CA, passed away May 22, 2002. Beloved husband of Michiko, loving father of Jason Kent Carpenter, and dear brother of Janet Sue Terry and Sally Reed Gustafson. Bruce was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Kent Carpenter. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2002 at 1:30pm at Westin Hotel, 5101 Great American Parkway, Santa Clara CA 95054. Joseph CHRISTY
October 21, 1939 - May 17, 2002

Joe Christy of Bellevue died at Overlake Hospital May 17, 2002 in the presence of his loving family. He was 62. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Connie, his three children, Joe Jr., Connor, and Caroline, daughter-in-law Aimee, mother Joan Christy, and sisters Arlene Wagner and Clara Christy of Spokane. A resident of Bellevue for 30 years, Joe spent his childhood in Gary, Indiana. He graduated from Tolleston High School in 1957 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Army for a six-month term, serving an additional year in 1962. He graduated from Southwestern Missouri University with a degree in accounting; he later obtained an MBA from the University of Washington in 1972. Joe worked at U.S. Steel in Gary, Indiana and Atlantic Richfield in Richland, Washington before joining Pay'n' Save in 1972. He worked among many friends and respected colleagues at Pay'n'Save as a controller/ treasurer, vice-president of merchandising and distribution, and president of Northwest ern Drug Company until 1985. He later be came a partner in Electronic Transaction Corporation and Employment Screening Partners until his retirement in 1998. A believer in corporate responsibility, he was proud of his work and accomplishments. Teller-of-stories; mower of the family lawn; builder of swings, playsets, decks, and tree houses; maker of breakfast; fisherman; straight-shooter; golfer; boater; familyman; drinker of beer; joker; poker player, Mariners (and Cubs) fan; businessman; hunter; woodworker; cigar lover; meat eater; committed friend; proud father; loving husband, son, and brother; giver; advisor; mentor. One of the good ones A public memorial service will occur during the second weekend in June. Please contact the family for date, time, and location. In ad dition, the family will conduct a private graveside service burial. The family wishes to thank the staff of Over lake Hospital and Bellevue Medic One.
