Wallace Arthur ROST
Of Bellevue, died May 29, 2002 in Bellevue. He was 82. Mr. Rost was born in Stephen, Minnesota on September 6, 1919. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Craik) Rost, Bellevue, WA.; sons, Robert Wallace Rost and wife, Donna of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Richard John Rost and James Scott Rost both of Bellevue, WA. Surviving brothers are John Dale Rost and Clifford Rost of Renton, WA. and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Sophia Rost and brothers, Gary, Robert and Harold. There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 a.m. at Green's Bellevue Chapel and interment will be at Tahoma National cemetery., June 3 at 12:30 p.m.
Patsy Viola SAHLI
Age 67, of Seattle. passed away at her home May 25, 2002.
She is survived by her loving husband James; sons Jim, Gary (Geri) Sahli; daughters Patty (Steve) Tafoya and Margorie (Jim) Schwaider; grandchildren Elliott, Jamie, Tony, Kyle (Amy), Ryan, Justin and Ilona; great grandson Michael.
Patsy was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Graveside Services will be held Friday, May 31, 2002, 11:30 a.m. at Riverton Crest cemetery.

In loving memory of Dorothy Ann Schober. Beloved mother, wife and grandmother passed away May 26, 2002 surrounded by her family in Sequim, Washington. Dorothy was born November 11, 1928 in Great Falls, Monta na, the daughter of William John and Anna Holm Snyder, both deceased. Dorothy's strong will, sharp intellect and tender love will always be remembered by her family and friends. She will be sorely missed by her husband, five children, 10 grandchildren, many close friends, all her dear bridge playing companions and her de voted loving dog, Max. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Schober of 51 years; sister, Carolyn Marble of Great Falls, Montana; her children; son, Neil Schober, his wife Gina, their children Crystal, Rachael, Leslie and Ian of Issaquah, Washington; daughter, Barbara Moeller, husband Rudy, their son Jake of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Jane Stanbury, husband Doug, their children, Jeff, Jamie and Christopher of Riverton, Wyoming; daughter, Karen Schober, partner Scott Norton, his sons Chay and Kelly of Bainbridge Island, Washington; son Willie Schober, his wife Zarina, their children Alexandra and Logan, of Scottsdale, Arizona. Her brother Gene Snyder of Great Falls, Montana preceded her in death in 1998. Dorothy and her family resided in the North west for most of her life. They lived in Port land, Oregon, Vancouver, Washington, Mercer Island, Washington, Great Falls, Montana, and finally Sequim, Washington to enjoy retirement and be closer to her children. Services Saturday, June 1, 2002, 11 a.m. Mass in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sequim, Washington followed by a reception. Jerome (Jerry) was born in Chicago, IL on December 3rd 1940. He was a resident of Chicago until 1968, when he moved to the city of Seattle, WA. He suffered a heart attack and passed from our lives on May 3rd 2002 in Seattle, WA. He is survived by his wife Frances Schroeder of Seattle, WA., his 3 children Jen nifer Gralish (Jeff) of Newcastle, WA., Karl Schroeder of Woodinville, WA., Albert Schroeder of Seattle, WA. and 2 Stepchildren Jesse Bedford of Maple Valley, WA. and Meaghan Chevrette of Seattle, WA., and 1 brother John Schroeder of Chicago, IL. passed away May 29, 2002 at the Kline Galland Center in Seattle. She was 94 years of age. Services will be held Friday May 31 at 3 p.m. at the Bikur Cholim cemetery Chapel. Scott SLATER
Scott Eugene Slater, 44, of Bremerton, died May 18, 2002, in Bremerton. He was born March 31, 1958, in Burien to Albert and M. Texander Slater. He graduated from Mount Rainier High School in Burien in 1977. Mr. Slater served in the Navy from 1977 to 1981 as a hull technician third class. He was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal. At the time of his death, he worked as a pipe fitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He had worked at PSNS since 1984. Mr. Slater was a hot rod enthusiast. He was af filiated with the Presbyterian church. Survivors include his father Albert E. and Barbara Slater of Yuma, Ariz.; a sister, Miki T. Grant and her husband, Philip, of Marys ville; and his companion, Kimberly E. Sylvester of Bremerton. A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m. June 2 at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Charles Walter BRUNI, Ph.D
Born July 16, 1939, in Lynn, Massachusetts. While he was a young man, Chuck was in the U.S. Army as a social worker at Fort Lewis, WA. He earned his master's degree at Northeastern University and went on to become a social worker in the Tacoma Public Schools. He then graduated from the United Sates International University with a Ph.d in behavioral psychology. He was a private practice therapist for 22 years and always a pioneer in researching new healing processes. He gave so much to so many through his private practice, workshops and seminars. He was a mentor, teacher and healer. He will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at 2 p.m., at the Best Western Tacoma Inn, 8726 S. Hosmer, Tacoma, WA. 98444. Jacqueline SMITH
A resident of Edmonds since the mid-194Os, passed away May 24, 2002. Born on October 3, 1922 in New York City, Jackie became one of the first female fashion photographers of her time. For 14 years, Jackie was co-owner, with her husband, of "Decorative Arts" frame shop and portrait studio in downtown Edmonds. She leaves behind, her husband of thirty-five years, Glenn J. Smith; her children; Chris Wolfe (Tonnie), Deborah McCallum (Robert), Kathy Carlson (Shane), Susan Levine and Jeffrey Wolfe (Karleen) and fourteen grandchildren. Her youngest daughter, Emily O'Connell (Michael), preceded her in death. Services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, May 31, at Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds, (425) 771-1234. John was born May 3, 1929 in East Hampton, New York to Russell Hamilton and Mary Eileen (Cunningham) Smith. John was raised in East Hampton, New York and graduated from East Hampton High School in 1947. He earned a BS in Engineering from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN; a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, W. Lafayette, IN; a Masters in Business and Math from the University of Chicago and a Doctorate in Math from the University of Southern California. John worked several decades at McDonnell Douglas, first in the Aeronautics division and then the Astronautics division. He was a prominent participant in the research and development leading to the United States effort to land a man on the moon. John remained active in these efforts until his death. John was an active member of his community, most recently with the Poulsbo Lion's Club and North Kitsap Mentoring for Success. He loved life and tackled new challenges with an uncommon vigor. He was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church. Public viewing is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2002 at the Stone Chapel from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at St. Olaf's on Friday evening, May 31, 2002 at 7 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial being said on Saturday, June 1, 2002 at 11 a.m., also at St. Olaf's.
