(Carol Ann) of Seattle and Timothy R. (Roxanne) of Seattle; stepdaughter, Valentine (Chris) Kern of Wenatchee; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; brother, Ralph Hadland and brother-in-law, Richard Adams. preceded in death by her husbands, Jay Wayne Maust, William McLean Adams, and a son, Michael Adams. Gladys Faye ALLEN
Gladys Allen was born March 1, 1916 and died July 26, 2002 at the age of 86.
She is survived by her daughter Jane Boldman and son James Allen, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Allen.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Acacia Funeral Home, 14951 - Bothell Way, N.E., Seattle.

Pliny "Lee" ALLEN
Born October 25, 1931, died July 22, 2002. Lee, a well-known and respected musician and member of the "Organ Society, " was a long time resident of the Four Freedoms Retirement Home in North Seattle.
He will be sorely missed by his many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Four Freedoms, Saturday, August 3, from Noon until 2:00 p.m.
Martha A. ALLGIRE
Martha A. ALLGIRE, 54, passed away July 25, 2002 at her home in Seattle. She was born May 13, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, WA., the daughter of Harold and Margaret Allgire. Marti graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1966, then Skagit Business College in 1968. She relocated to Seattle and started a career in insurance that spanned 34 years, the last 23 as an associate broker with Swett & Crawford. Marti met her spouse Jim in 1983-their shared passions included family, good food, cooking together, gardening, music and travel. Martha is survived by her loving spouse James Hill; brother Donald (Karolyn) Allgire; sister Carolyn (Fred Rockmore) Allgire; step-children Rebecca Kaspers and Jennifer Hill; and 4 step-grandchildren. Born September 19, 1919 in Seattle, passed away July 29, 2002 at Skagit Valley Hospital. A graduate of Roosevelt High School and University of Washington. Jean is survived by her loving family, husband Albert of 60 years, 2 sons Forrest and Jay, 3 grandchildren Eva Jean Elizabeth and Jayson. In-laws; Robert & Sara Anderson, Ellen Rose Suiter, Cliff & Mary Burdick, and Jerry & Rosalie Burdick. Family and friends are welcome at noon, August 3rd, for a celebration of Jean's life at the Anderson residence in Camaloch Community on Camano Island. Jennie BARTELS, 88, of Seattle, died July 29, 2002 at her home. She was born July 12, 1914 in Seattle, WA. to Filippo and Josephine (Curreri) Covello. She married
Irvin Louis Bartels in 1940. He died May 27, 1967. Jennie worked at the Olympic Hotel for 21 years. She loved to cook, write poems and draw. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jane Walters and her husband Stephen of Bremerton; 3 grandchildren, Cherie, Matthew and Mark Walters; 3 great grandchildren, Brandon Heaggans, Matthew and Gavin Walters; a brother, Jim Covello and 3 nieces, Linda Ghizzi, Lorraine Bellezo, Lillian Wallin of California. She was preceded in death by a brother, Salvatore Tony Covello. Visitation 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Columbia Funeral Home. Nancy Joan BEAUMONT
Beloved wife, mother and treasured friend, Nancy passed away at her home in Mill Creek on July 28, 2002 at the age of 70. Married to Lewis R. Beaumont for 42 years before his death in 1992, she is survived by her daughters: Cathy and Cindy; her father C. Vernon Brown; and brother, Vern, Jr. Nancy's distinguished 16+-year career with Delta Airlines brought her and her husband to Washington in 1981 and she quickly grew to cherish her adopted state as home. An indomitable spirit, Nancy will be remembered for her passionate devotion to family, friends and community, her genuine concern for others, her strength and boundless intellect, and a heart as big and deep as the sea. Born on March 18, 1923 in Lyman, WA. Died July 28, 2002 at his home in Lynnwood, WA. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Bar bara. He leaves two daughters, Kathy (Taylor) Stott and Cherie (Richard) Isaac; grandchildren, Rebecca Stott and Steven Isaac, all of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Nadine White, Kaiser, OR; Irma Whitelock, Mt. Ver non, WA; Dorothy Daves, Concrete, WA; aunt, Bernice Wilie, Mt. Vernon, WA and a large extended family. Mr. Beck was awarded the Bronze Star for service in Germany during WWII. He was a graduate of Washington State University, a member of the Gideon Ministry International and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Edmonds. passed away peacefully on July 27, 2002 at the age of 62. Born in Manila, Philippines, the youngest son of Natividad and Edward Bennett. Survived by Luz his loving wife of 29 years, and daughters Michelle and Jennilee (Jerry) Fernandez. Siblings Ed (Sudi), Burnie, and Florence (Eddie) and their children. Gordon E. BERLIN
Gordon E. BERLIN, 76, formerly of West Chester, died Monday, July 29 at Brinton Manor in Glen Mills. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, he en tered the University of Washington in 1943 as part of the Marine Corps in the program. He served on an aircraft carrier, finishing his military service as a Second Lieutenant. Mr. Berlin returned to the University of Washing ton and a distinguished college football career. He was the first freshman to start in the Rose Bowl and was named to the All-American football team in 1947. The following year, he was selected to play in East-West Shrine Bowl. He joined the professional L.A. Dons football team upon graduation in 1948, but an injury ended his football career. Mr. Berlin worked for the Scott Paper Company, as Vice-President of M.W. Houck and as President of Bonstedt-Coale, both food brokerages, prior to his retirement in 1988. He was a past president of the National Food Brokers Association and a visiting speaker at the Food Institute of St. Joe's University, Mr. Berlin was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, active in the U.W. Alumni Chapter for the Philadelphia area and a member of Radley Run Country Club. He enjoyed golf, fishing and traveling to far-off fishing locations. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara; sons John, James, Richard and Robert; daughters Barbara and Anne;; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Tuesday. August 6 at 11 a.m. at the Kuzo and Gofus Funeral Home, Ltd., State and Meredith Streets, Kennett Square, PA. Interment

Roberta Grace BESTROP
Born March 15, 1929, died July 10, 2002. She is survived by her husband Arthur; daughter Patricia Chase (Steve), son James Bestrop (Peggy), daughter Elizabeth Leith (Tim), and five grandchildren. Roberta was talented at sewing, painting and wallpapering and enjoyed playing Bingo. She was an enthusiastic member of the Richmond Beach Congregational Church where Memorial Services will be held on August 3rd at 11 a.m. In lieu of floral offerings, contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association. Robert BLUHER, Age 76. Born and raised in Snoqualmie Valley served in US Navy 1944 through 1947 in the Asiatic Pacific. Married Emily Mallery and raised four children. Emily died in 1976. He remarried
Rose Bouchard in 1977. Bob worked at Jorgenson Steel in Seattle for 30 plus years and retired. After a long, hard fought battle, succumbed to cancer 7-30-02. Survived by wife Rose, son Jim (Smaron) Bluher, daughters Jan (Jim) Young, Judie (John) Legg and Jenny (Jim) Hodges. Seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
