Died November 6, 2000 at Kline Galland Home. Born December 1902 in Russia. Came to the United States as a child and grew up in New York City. Married her cousin, Reuben in 1925, and lived here until her death. Preceded by husband, Reuben; daughter Roslyn Malin; grandson Ron Steinberg; sister Annette Rubens and brother William Taubin. Survived by her son, Sheldon (Irene); son-in-law Bob Malin (Natalie); six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services at Bikur Cholim cemetery Chapel, Wednesday, 11 a.m. (Obit dated 11/08/2000.)

E. Marjorie STEVENS

Died peacefully in her northeast Seattle home on October 28, 2000, following an extended illness.
She was born on August 25, 1923, in Edmonds, B.C., Canada, but spent the majority of her adult life in Seattle.
Marjorie was formerly employed at the University of Washington, School of Fisheries, and was a longterm associate of Milo C. Bell, Inc. Prior to that, she was employed by the State of Washington, Department of Fisheries, as it was then known.
She leaves behind many relatives, loyal friends, and dedicated care-providers in this region, Canada, the UK and many other areas of the world.
In accord with her wishes, no services are planned. (Obit dated 11/05/2000.)

James Carl STEVENS

Born 1927 in New York City; died Oct. 31, 2000 in Seattle. Love of woodworking surpassed only by his love of his family.
Survived by wife Elaine, four children and spouses: Barbara (Barry), Carl (Kathy), David (Daryn), and Erik, three grandsons, and nieces and nephews. Memorial service: Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, 2400 NW 85th, Seattle; Saturday, November 11 - 11 a.m.

Cornelia ST. LAURENT

Cornelia ST. LAURENT 83, passed away November 4, 2000.
Immigrating from Italy in 1939 she resided in Seattle prior to moving to Kirkland.
A former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Cornelia was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
preceded in death by husband Austin in 1987 she is survived by sons Larry St. Laurent (Susie) of Ravensdale and Nichola St. Laurent (Lyndia) of Austin, Texas; sister Crispina of Italy; grandson Chuck; granddaughters Nikki, Danielle and Angela; great-grandson Cayleb. Graveside Committal Service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, November 9 at Holyrood Catholic cemetery, Seattle.

Vincent H. STRECKER

Age 75, beloved husband of Teresa; loving fa ther of Stephen, Joan and Cecilia; father-in-law of Terry and Robert; grandfather of Edward, Jamie and Olivia. He died Saturday, November 4th, after enjoying a fulfilling family life and successful career in Seattle.
His good nature, humor, generosity, courage and faith were evident to all who knew him. Born in Portland, Oregon, he grew up in Seattle, graduated from Seattle Prep High School and the University of Notre Dame. He served in the Navy towards the end of World War II as a Navy pilot.
He was co-owner of PBS Supply Company, a Seattle based manufacturer, for over forty years.
He and his wife traveled the world extensively, making many friends along the way.
He was active in numerous philanthropic organiza tions, an accomplished squash player and an avid reader.
Also survived by his sister, Patricia Pemberton; brother, Owen Strecker; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and in-laws.
A Mass for Mr. Strecker will be celebrated Thursday, November 16th, at 1:30 p.m.at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 3218 West Barrett Street, Seattle, WA. 98199, with a reception to follow, at 3:30 p.m., at the Broadmoor Golf Club, 2340 Broadmoor Drive E. Richard Edward STUSSER

Dick Stusser, 71, died peacefully on Thurs., Nov. 2, at the Kline Galland Home (KGH) in Seattle.
Born in Vancouver, BC, his family moved to the Seattle area when he was 6 mos. old.
He attended Broadway High School, and graduated from Franklin High School and attended Seattle University and the U. of W. He volunteered proudly as a member of the Seattle Police Reserve from 1950-60, and rose to the rank of Lieutenant.
He worked for more than 45 years in the clothing business, as a sales rep and later as proprietor of Sample World and Frugalman's in downtown Seattle.
He and his wife, Pauline, were founding members of Cong. Beth Shalom; 8 years ago they joined Temple B'nai Torah.
In 1949 he was among the first to survive open heart surgery; this motivated him to collect donations for the American Heart Association for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pauline, two sons, Daniel (Shannon -- Anna Stusser) of Olympia, Laurence (Lori -- Aaron and Rebecca Stusser) of Newcastle, WA., and one daughter, Terri Schuster (Brian -- Shoshana, Galya, and Raphi Schuster) of Bellevue, sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Joseph Feldman of Seattle. Arrangements by Seattle Jewish Chapel.
Burial to be held Sunday, Nov 5, 1 p.m. at the Chapel at Bikur Cholim Cemetary, 1340 115th Ave NE in Seattle.

George F. SWEENEY, Jr.

A retired Boeing engineer died in his home Thursday, November 2, 2000. He was 71.
Born in Puyallup, he grew up in Buckley and Carbona do where he worked as a logger.
George served in the Army during the Korean conflict.
He attended PLU and Seattle University. George went on to become an Electrical Engineer at Boeing, working in the Aerospace Group for 40 years.
George loved the outdoors, wildlife, and photography.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria, children Rick, Erin, Ron and Lisa, and grandchildren Derek, Jared, Katelyn, Jacklyn, Amanda, Michele and Keith.
Memorial Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednes day, November 8 at Yahn & Son Funeral Home in Auburn. (Obit dated 11/05/2000.)

Betty J. TAGAS

Born March 3, 1921 in Tacoma; died November 2, 2000 in Seattle. Raised mostly in Hillsboro OR.
Graduated from business college in Yakima and worked as a private secretary prior to marriage.
preceded in death by son, Dennis.
Survived by sister, Laura of Hillsboro, OR; loving husband Howard, son Bryan and his wife Margo Spellman, daughter Lee Ann and her husband Jim Rowe, all of Seattle; granddaughters, Kristin, Denise, Angela, Rebecca and Trina; great-granddaughters, Madeline and Alexandra and daughter-in-law, Bonnie Simpson. Betty courageously and with grace fought numerous life threatening health problems in the last several years. She was often more concerned about how her illnesses were affecting her loved ones than for herself.
She seldom complained and kept her sense of humor to the end.
All her life she devoted herself to her family and to her husband in his sales career, especially when he was self-employed. Funeral Service Wednesday, November 8, 2000, 10:00 a.m., Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home Chapel, 11111 Aurora Ave N. Seattle. Memorials suggested to charity of choice. (Obit dated 11/05/2000.)

Sally Lou Lundquist TEMPLETON

Sally Templeton passed away on November 4, 2000 in Seattle, Washington from a long battle with diabetes, renal failure and their associated complications. Sally was born April 20, 1932 at Seattle General Hospital to Robert Eric Lundquist and Anna Lois Timmen of Port Angeles, Washington. She grew up in Tacoma, Washington, after spending some early years in the states of Washington, Idaho and Montana. Her twin brother and sister, Patricia Ann Grall and Paul Phillip Lundquist joined the family seven years later.
Sally was married to William Thomas Templeton in Tacoma, Washington on December 13, 1952.
They had two children, Nancy Lee and Daniel Thomas.
Sally was a homemaker until her children were older, when she started to work outside the home. She enjoyed working part-time at a pet store, which gave her an opportunity to enjoy and adopt the animals, fish and birds that she loved. She also worked at of fice and bookkeeping jobs until she retired in 1996. She lived in Renton, Lynnwood, Camano Island and Arlington, Washington, after leaving Tacoma in 1977. For the past four years she lived at Cascade Valley-Senior Living in Arlington, WA. She leaves many friends and caring staff members at Senior Living and Regency Care Center in Arlington. Sally is survived by her daughter Nancy and son-in-law Doug Yarwood of Camano Island, WA., son Daniel Templeton of Tacoma, WA., grandson Steven Ryan Wilkerson of Shoreline, WA., grandson Blake Alexander Templeton of Tacoma, WA., grandson Chad Douglas Yarwood and his wife, Sarah of Bellevue, WA.; great granddaughter Tyler Makay Yarwood of Bellevue, WA., sister Pat Grall of Los Alamos, New Mexico, brother Paul and sister-in-law Sanna Lundquist of Tacoma, WA., and special longtime friends Lorraine Fuller Johnson of Tacoma, WA., Amy Gilford Dawson of Weiser, ID. and Dora Sher of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Tonya Yanity, Todd Lundquist, Stacy Lutz and Rusty Grall. Sally also leaves her cockatiel, Buddy, who was a great comfort to her this past year. She is preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Ricky Grall. Sally will be remembered for her delight in everything from travel, jewelry, pets, movies, music, computer friends and family. We will always be reminded of her big laugh, sense of humor and smile. We are all happy for her to finally be at peace and pain free at long last. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2000 at 12 Noon at Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way N. E., Seattle. William R. THOMPSON

Age 93, of Shoreline, passed away on Nov. 1, 2000. William was a member of the Edmonds Chapter of the Sons of Norway.
Survivors in clude a son Jim and his wife Sandy, grandson Gabriel, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services 2 p.m. Wed., Nov. 8 at Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds.

Theodore Arthur THORSON, M.D.

Ted Thorson, 85, passed away November 2, 2000 at his home in Kenmore, WA. Born in Spokane, Ted was raised in Seattle, graduating from Queen Anne High and the University of Washington. After living in Alaska 12 years, Ted returned to Seattle and was a member of the first graduating class of the UW Medical School in 1950. Following specialty training at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, he served as a Clinical Pathologist for Children's Hospital and Valley General Hospital. In 1960, he became Overlake Hospital's first Pathologist, where he subsequently served as Chief of Staff. He also founded Eastside Medical Laboratory. Ted loved the Pacific Northwest, especially salmon fishing, skiing, hiking around Mt. Rainier, and golfing. Ted was a devoted husband and father and was active in numerous community and civ ic organizations, including Bellevue Rotary and the Eastside YMCA. Ted is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene; his two brothers, Ken Thor son, Seattle and Lloyd Thorson, Spokane; his five children, their spouses and his eight grand children, Lee Thorson, Elizabeth, Kirk and Alex of Kirkland, Eric Thorson, Rita, Leanne and Theodore of Wenatchee, Anne Thorson Ross, Peter and Kathryn of San Francisco, Janet Ep stein, Mark, Roxanne, Blaire and Grace of Greenbrae, CA. and Mark Thorson of Bothell. His gracious way will be missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Ted's life will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2000 at 1 p.m. at Ingle wood Golf Club, 6505 Inglewood Road N.E., Ken more. Todd Frederick VENEMA

Born September 21, 1958 in Seattle, passed away peacefully in his mountain home in Laytonville, CA. on September 22, 2000. He was a most devoted and beloved son of Walter and Anita Venema, a caring brother to siblings Doug (Jolynn), Donn (Terrie), Ross (Jennifer), Craig (Suzi), Adele (Jim) Noetzelman, and Andrea (Steve) Austin, and loving uncle to 20 nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews. A graduate of Ingraham High School. Todd traveled extensively - confessed to always packing too much and continued to look for the PERFECT travel bag. He was a scholar, Eagle Scout, gardener, gourmet cook, nature lover and former valued employee of SeaFirst in Seattle and Wells Fargo Banks in San Francisco and several law firms. He was a great communicator and leaves behind a host of true friends and family who will dearly miss him, his warmth, and also his frequent phone calls. Memorial Services have been held in California and private family services are pending in the Northwest. Remembrances may be sent to Bailey-Boushay House, 2720 E. Patton (Patty) VYE
November 10, 1922 - November 2, 2000

Patty died peacefully at home, with a copy of Molly Ivins' book SHRUB : The Short but Happy Political Life of George W. Bush propped open on her chest. Patty's long life in Seattle involved many communities. She raised her children here. She was a tireless freeway fighter in the 60s and 70s. Employment included working for Dr. Lester Sauvage in the 70s, and later for the University of Washington as an Administrative Secretary to the Dean of the Law School. Patty's life was rich with friends. Her mind was sharply brilliant and she possessed a wickedly incisive wit. She will be missed by many. Family survivors include son, Matthew, daughter, Sarah and son-in-law Peter Rasch. Patty had three beloved granddaughters--Whitney Katherine, Jane Alice and Madeline Margaret--about whom she orbited. Viewing at BLEITZ FUNERAL HOME, 316 Florentia St., Seattle, on Thursday, November 9, 2000, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (Obit is from 11/07/2000 to 11/08/2000.)
