Ryan Murray
Ryan Murray of Auburn died Jan. 26, 2001. He was 15 days old.
Born Jan. 11, 2001, in Seattle, he died as a result of a congenital heart defect.
He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Tammy Murray of Auburn; brothers Tyler and Alexander of Auburn; sister, Kristina of Auburn; grandparents Marilyn Murray of Auburn, Freida Roetter of Kent and Ronald Roetter of Centralia; and great-grandmother, Mildred Barney of Portsmouth, N.H.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Price Helton Funeral Home.
Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.
Edward F. Bush
Edward F. Bush died Jan. 19, 2001, at his home in Federal Way. He was 79.
Born Oct. 13, 1921, in Detroit, he served in the Air Force as a technical sergeant during World War II. He married
Mary Lee Hinson on March 29, 1947, and lived in the South County area for more than five years.
Mr. Bush retired as a quality control worker at Chrysler. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Kent and the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed family game time, baseball and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lee Bush of Federal Way; son Edward Bush Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughters Deborah Bliss of Federal Way and Melissa DeBono of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at Galilee Baptist Church in Kent. Burial was at Tahoma National cemetery in Maple Valley.

Bud G. King
Bud G. King died Jan. 20, 2001, at his home in Black Diamond. He was 83.
He was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Tacoma. Mr. King served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a lifetime resident of the South County area.
He retired in 1972. Mr. King formerly owned Kings Tavern in Black Diamond, King Logging, and Harold's Restaurant and Motel in Enumclaw.
He was a member of the Black Diamond Masons chapter and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty King of Black Diamond; sons Bob King of Kent and Jim King of Black Diamond; brother Don King of Buckley; sister Maudie Jacks of Clearwater, Fla.; and a granddaughter.
No service will be held.

Hazel M. Braddock
Hazel Margaret Braddock of Tukwila died April 4, 2001, in Tacoma. She was 83.
Born March 24, 1918, in Hensel, N.D., Mrs. Braddock was a resident of South County for 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Braddock; and daughter Jeanne. She is survived by her sons, Ron Patton and Wayne Braddock, both of Puyallup, Warren Braddock of Bonney Lake and Scott Braddock of Mountlake Terrace; daughters Colleen Westgard and Heidi Braddock, both of Edgewood, Phyllis Breitenborn of Federal Way and Betty Neunom of Tukwila; brother Jack Creighton of California; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Washington Memorial cemetery in SeaTac.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Betty A. Carter
Betty A. Carter of Renton died April 1, 2001, in Renton. She was 63.
Born June 20, 1937, in Wauconda, Wash., she lived in Renton for 22 years.
She worked as a bookkeeper for PayLess Drug Store and enjoyed cooking, collecting cookbooks, antique shopping and doing volunteer work.
She is survived by her son, Dwayne Lovejoy of Pacific; daughters Nancy Ellis of Auburn and Lori Clarke of Tacoma; brother Wes Bradley of California; sister Mary Ann Plymire of Oregon; special friend Lew Crecelius of Renton; and seven grandchildren.
At her request, no service will be held.
Jean J. Sutton
Longtime Auburn resident Jean Joan Sutton died April 1, 2001, at Auburn Regional Medical Center. She was 67.
Born Jan. 25, 1934, in Goodrich, N.D., she was a resident of Auburn 50 years.
She was a homemaker and member of Cornerstone Community Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis Bowerman of Kent and Larry Sutton of Auburn; daughters Debra Mapes of Tacoma, Diane Bowerman of Gig Harbor and Janet Morrison of Sumner; sister Marge Hoppman of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Price-Helton Funeral Home in Auburn.
Margaret Sullivan
Margaret Sullivan of Renton died March 30, 2001, in Bellevue. She was 95.
Born March 8, 1906, in Butte, Mont., Mrs. Sullivan graduated from the University of Montana in 1927. She lived in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia from 1947 to 1972, then moved to Bellevue. She had lived in Renton since 1988.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Renton and St. Louise Parish in Bellevue. She also was a member of the Knights and Ladies of the Holy Sepulcher.
Mrs. Sullivan enjoyed world travel, needleworking and stamp collecting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James McCarthy, in 1936. She married
Daniel J. Sullivan and he preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1990. Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her son, James McCarthy of Coupeville; daughters Margaret Joan McCarthy MacIntyre of Celbridge, Ireland, and Danee Hubbs of Renton; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Faull-Stokes Mortuary in Renton. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Renton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen the Martyr Church. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery in Seattle.

Patricia J. Devlin
Patricia Jean Devlin of Des Moines died March 30, 2001, at Valley Medical Center in Renton. She was 69.
Born Nov. 13, 1931, in Knox, Pa., she graduated from high school in Shelton in 1949 and married
Frank H. Devlin on Oct. 6, 1951. She lived in the South County area for 45 years.
Mrs. Devlin worked as lead teller at Rainier Bank for nine years. She was a member of Des Moines United Methodist Church, where she volunteered, and of Children's Hospital Orthopedic Guild. She enjoyed traveling.
Mrs. Devlin is survived by her husband, Frank H. Devlin of Des Moines; daughter Kathrine Bowsher of Issaquah; sister Marylou Miller of Grove City, Pa.; stepfather Merritt Wingard of Clarion, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Des Moines United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Shelton Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital in Seattle.

William B. Johns
William Bevly Johns of Auburn died March 27, 2001, in Auburn. He was 82.
Born Aug. 14, 1918, in Jackson, Tenn., Mr. Johns was an Army veteran who served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Presidential Unit Citation.
Mr. Johns later worked as a security officer for The Boeing Co. for 19 years. He enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta R. Johns. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Lovelace of Tacoma; three brothers, Thomas Johns, David Johns and Paul Johns; and sister, Doris Winkles.Inurnment will be at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.

Greg Kessinger
Greg Kessinger died March 28, 2001. at his home in Kent. He was 46.
Born April 6, 1954, in Yakima, Mr. Kessinger had lived in the South County area for four years.
Mr. Kessinger worked as a meatcutter for 25 years and recently had worked as a product specialist for Food Services of America. He married
Terry Lynn Hinson on Sept. 1, 1972, in Buena.
He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, crabbing and boating. He also enjoyed cribbage and casino gambling. Friends remembered him for his wit, humor and ability to find the lighter side of any situation.
He is survived by his wife, Terry L. Kessinger of Kent; daughter Amber Kessinger of La Grande, Ore; brother Scott Brown of Yakima; parents Pete and Louise Brown of Yakima and Jim Kessinger of Union Gap.
There will be an outdoor memorial service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lake Meridian Park picnic area in Kent.
