Ruth Frances Jones
Ruth Frances Jones of Auburn died Sept. 11, 2001, in Auburn. She was 73.
Born Dec. 21, 1927, in Centralia, she married
Charles Jones in 1956. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1945 and from St. Peters Hospital School of Nursing in Olympia in 1948. She lived in Auburn since 1948.
She was a registered nurse, having worked at The Boeing Co., Auburn hospital and with area doctors. She was a volunteer at the Auburn Food Bank, where she was recognized with a service certificate. She was a member of Auburn Nurses Club, Irish Heritage Club and a Eucharist Minister at Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling to Ireland and Reno.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Charles W. Jones; son, Timothy Jones; three brothers; and six sisters. She is survived by her sons, C. Stewart Jones of Federal Way, and David Jones of Enumclaw; daughter, Charlotte Hoxie of Buckley; sister, Teresa Newbury of Centralia; brother, Dennis Hogan of Auburn; eight grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn. Burial will be at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.

Jack Patterson
Former Maple Valley resident Jack Patterson died of cancer Sept. 10, 2001, at his home in Ione. He was 72.
He was born April 23, 1929, in Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Patterson married
Marian Warren Cook on April 16, 1983, in Altadena, Calif. He lived in Maple Valley for 16 years before moving to Ione four years ago.
Mr. Patterson served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952. He worked as a mechanical engineer for The Boeing Co., Rockwell, Semen's Medical and Phiso Controls. Mr. Patterson was a commercial pilot and enjoyed camping, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dana Patterson. Mr. Patterson is survived by his wife, Marian Patterson of Ione; son, Bryan Patterson of Visalia, Calif.; stepsons, Rick Cook of Tuscon, Ariz., and Ron Cook of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepdaughters, Debi Greene and Deena ViDaurri, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, William Patterson of St. George, Utah; sisters, Betty Jenkins of Cherry Valley, Calif., and Evelyn Ryan of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Tahoma National cemetery in Maple Valley.

Kylie Michelle Schultz
Kylie Michelle Schultz died at birth Sept. 7, 2001, in Renton.
She is survived by her parents, Joshua and Michelle Schultz of Renton; and grandparents, Ron and Martie Gagne of Kent and Tom and Lynn Schultz of Everett.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent.

John Winston Duvall
John Winston Duvall of Renton died Sept. 20, 2001, at home. He was 59.
Born March 6, 1942, in Seattle, Mr. Duvall grew up in Moses Lake and graduated from Moses Lake High School.
He moved to California in the late 1960s and lived there for many years before moving back to Washington in 1990 and settling in Issaquah. He moved to Renton in 1996.
Mr. Duvall was self-employed as 'The Handy Man.' He was an early riser, and family and friends remember he was always the first person to arrive and the first to leave.
Mr. Duvall enjoyed watching his favorite sports team, the Mariners.
He is survived by his daughter, Cami Trueba of Renton; stepdaughter Vannessa Gonzales of Bakersfield, Calif.; sisters Robin Thompson of Kent, April McBride of Spokane, Jana Langley of Electric City, Wash., and Kim Duvall of Federal Way; brother Ron Duvall of Snoqualmie; and many grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home.
Eugene 'Gene' Cameron Morgan
Eugene 'Gene' C. Morgan of Bellevue died Sept. 21, 2001, in Bellevue. He was 88.
Mr. Morgan was born Dec. 29, 1912 in Bismarck, N.D., to Millecent and Joseph Morgan. He was raised in Miles City, Mont., and attended Montana State University.
Mr. Morgan served in the U.S. Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II. In 1949, he married
Donna Thompson in California. She died in November 2000.
Mr. Morgan owned and operated Hare's Greenhouse in Deer Lodge, Mont., for 20 years. He and Mrs. Morgan moved to Auburn in 1997 to be closer to their daughter. In 2000, Mr. Morgan moved to Bellevue.
In his leisure time, Mr. Morgan enjoyed fishing, flying and gardening.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna Timmerman of Sammamish; and his sister-in-law Velma Morgan, of Deer Lodge, Mont.
At his request, no services will be held for Mr. Morgan.
Irene M. Johnson
Irene Mildred Johnson of Renton died Sept. 20, 2001. She was 93.
Born May 19, 1908, in Toledo, Wash., she lived in West Seattle for 56 years and in Kent for nine months.
She was a nurse at Doctor's Hospital in Seattle and a member of First Christian Church of Kent.
She enjoyed photography, fishing, traveling and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; daughter Barbara Mills; and grandson Douglas Mills.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Ken Mills of Renton; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. tomorrow and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
A memorial service will begin at noon Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
David Grant Fallen
David Grant Fallen died Sept. 13, 2001, at his home in Enumclaw. He was 53.
Born May 22, 1948, in Anchorage, Alaska, he graduated from Enumclaw High School in 1966 and attended the University of Washington and Washington State University, graduating in 1971. He married
Catherine Louise Allen on June 19, 1971, in Kirkland. He lived in the South County area for 20 years.
Mr. Fallen became the owner and operator of Pacific Metallurgical, after having worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a nuclear systems test engineer. He was a member and past-president of American Society of Metals, Puget Sound Chapter; a member of the Metal Treating Institute; and an elder at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw. He enjoyed traveling, biking, hiking, skiing, fishing, hunting and scuba diving.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Fallen of Enumclaw; son, Derek Fallen of Seattle; daughters, Shannon Fallen and Brooke Fallen, both of Seattle; mother, Lucille Fallen of Enumclaw; sisters, Pam Boldrin of Renton and Judi Sonneson of Enumclaw.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Enumclaw.

Joseph John Dinius
Joseph John 'Joe' Dinius of Renton died Sept. 20, 2001, in Kirkland. He was 81.
Born Sept. 22, 1919, in Fayette, N.D., Mr. Dinius served with the Navy Seabees during World War II. He lived in the South County area for 49 years.
Mr. Dinius was a former member of Renton Lutheran Church. He was a sheet metal worker at The Boeing Co., retiring in 1981.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Dinius in 1989. Mr. Dinius is survived by his sons, David and Arlin Dinius, both of Renton, Carl Dinius of Federal Way, and Terry Dinius of Sequim; daughters, Vanessa Barber of Enumclaw, Lila Wyatt of Kirkland, and Joleen Sullivan and Ilah Weaver, both of Renton; brothers, Jerome Dinius of Montana, Valentine Dinius of California, and Anton Dinius of North Dakota; sister, Madeline Keller of Montana; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home with a memorial service at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park.

Kyle Whitford
Kyle Whitford of Renton died Sept. 19, 2001, in Renton. He was 23.
Born Jan. 6, 1978, in Puyallup, he graduated form Auburn High School and earned a bachelor's degree in illustration from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He grew up in the Auburn valley and lived in Renton for the last six months.
Mr. Whitford was a graphic artist, having done illustrations for several Seattle publications, including 'The Rocket' and 'The Stranger.' He enjoyed baseball, playing guitar and the music of The Who.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Judi Whitford of Lake Tapps; brother, Tyson Whitford of Lake Tapps; grandparents, Ralph and Barbara Whitford of Puyallup and Don and Billie Rutledge of Enumclaw; and great-grandmother, Loda Rutledge of Shelton.
A memorial celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the family home in Lake Tapps.

Mary E. (Streepy) Hodges
Mary Elizabeth (Streepy) Hodges of Kent died Sept. 20, 2001, in Renton. She was 92.
Born Dec. 29, 1908, in Cincinnati, Iowa, she married
Adrian William Hodges on April 19, 1929, and lived in the South County area for the past 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Hodges in 1975 and son, Charles Frederick in 1982. She is survived by her daughter, Coralee Presley of Yuma, Ariz.; sister, Peggy of Seymore, Iowa; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
At her request, no service will be held. Inurnment will be at Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle.
