Ronald Milan Basinger
Former Boeing Co. employee Ronald Milan Basinger of Sammamish died Nov. 3, 2001, in Tukwila. He was 59.
Born Oct. 28, 1942, in Boise, Idaho, he graduated from North Salem High School in 1960 and Oregon State University in 1965.
Mr. Basinger worked as an accounting manager of the engineering support groups at The Boeing Co. in Renton for 36 years. As a member of the East King County Soccer Referees Association, he refereed games in the Puget Sound area for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, the theater, traveling, playing cards and the Mariners games.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Ann Basinger of Sammamish; son Ron Basinger II of Orting; daughter Melissa Kirk of Spokane; sister Dottie Olson of Mountain Home, Idaho; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today and Friday at Green Funeral Home in Bellevue.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Highland Covenant Church in Bellevue.

Bernice J. Gavin
Bernice J. Gavin died Oct. 25, 2001, at her home in Kent. She was 93.
Born March 7, 1908, in Christine, N.D., she lived in Kent for 36 years.
A school teacher for more than 25 years, she taught in the Vashon School District and Kent School District. She enjoyed entertaining, sewing and gardening.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Gerald L. Grant and Scott Gavin; and sisters, Olive Richardson and Anne Carpenter.
She is survived by her son, Gerald ``Mike'' Grant of Normandy Park; daughter Beth Deroos of California; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at her home in Kent. Private inurnment will be held at Yelm cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the benefit of children or education. Arrangements are by Edline-Yahn Funeral Chapel in Kent.
Anthony Dano
Anthony Dano of Auburn died Nov. 4, 2001 in Renton. He was 48.
Born Oct. 23, 1953, in Honolulu, Hawaii, he married
Johnnie Chang in 1978. He lived in the South County area for more than 10 years.
He worked at Last Jade Green Golf course, was involved with Auburn Little League and Auburn junior football, and enjoyed sports, cooking, music and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Dano; his sons John and Justin Dano; his daughters, Toni and Tanya-Ann Dano; brother Joseph Dano; sisters Evelyn Arakaki and Rosemary Dano; and mother Annie Dano.
A memorial will be held 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Irwin residence in Auburn.

Joseph Henry Lamper
Joseph Henry Lamper of Kent died Nov. 10, 2001, in Federal Way. He was 84.
Mr. Lamper was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Wyoming.
After serving in the Navy during World War II, he worked for The Boeing Co., retiring in 1981. He enjoyed raising pigeons and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen. He is survived by his sister, Vera Rowe, and nephew Gene Lamper, both of Salt Lake City; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Evergreen-Washelli funeral home in Seattle. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Washelli cemetery in Seattle.
Evelyn Delores Witcher
Evelyn Delores Witcher of Newcastle died Nov. 11, 2001, in Newcastle. She was 74.
Born April 24, 1927, in San Leandro, Calif., Mrs. Witcher lived in the South King County area for 33 years.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, bingo, crossword puzzles and collecting demitasse spoons.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Witcher of Newcastle; daughters Patti Fox of Renton and Pamela Witcher of Newcastle; mother Ambrosia Dias of San Leandro, Calif.; brother Alexander Pavao of Olivehurst, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton.

Mary Charlotte Permin of SeaTac died Nov. 10, 2001, in SeaTac. She was 84.
Born Dec. 20, 1916, in Calumet, Mich., she lived in Auburn and Renton for 35 years.
She worked as an auditor for a jewelry business. She enjoyed reading and was an avid Mariners fan.
She is survived by her son, James Turner of Spokane; daughters Sandra Rowe of Renton and Judith Clarke of Fairbanks, Alaska.; sister Martha Wheeler of SeaTac; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.

Former Covington resident Beth Ann Koehler of Redmond died Nov. 8, 2001, in Redmond. She was 39.
She was born July 29, 1962, in Seattle. Before moving from Covington to Redmond, Mrs. Koehler lived in South County for 35 years.
She worked as a college admissions director and was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church in Renton.
Mrs. Koehler is survived by her husband, Thomas Koehler of Covington; son Adam Koehler of Covington; daughter Erin Koehler of Covington; parents Alfred and Simone Rognlien of Olympia; brother Tom Rognlien of Tacoma; and sisters Jean Sowers of Olympia and Rebecca ``Becky'' McCredie of Bothell.

Roberta ``Bertie'' Gertude Musser of Auburn died Nov. 10, 2001, at Tacoma General Hospital. She was 82.
Born Oct. 1, 1919, in Portland, Ore., she lived in Auburn since 1935.
She worked as a mixologist at Rainbow Cafe in Auburn. She was a member of the Friends of Rainier School, the Friends of the Retarded, the Parents and Guardians of the Retarded and the Parent Club of Good Shepherd Home.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Howard. She is survived by her sons, Dennis Howard of Danville, Calif., and Allen Musser III of Seattle; daughters Maureen ``Mickey'' Buss of White Hall, Pa., Kay Berg of Lopez Island, April Irvin of Hockley, Texas, Debra Lamond of Auburn, and Linda ``Jeanie'' Musser of Renton; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Emma E. Moncrief
Emma Evelyn Moncrief of Auburn died Nov. 11, 2001, in Auburn. She was 75.
Born June 26, 1926, in Dallas, she married
James Curtis Moncrief in Dallas on Aug. 6, 1946, and lived in the South County area for 33 years.
Mrs. Moncrief worked at Texas Instruments prior to moving to Auburn in 1968 and then worked as an electronics technician at Physio Central in Redmond.
She was a member of the Auburn Eagles Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling and reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Moncrief. She is survived by her sons, Dwayne Lee Moncrief of Olympia and James C. Moncrief of Auburn; daughters Barbara Ann Uloth of Yelm, Linda Sue Smart of British Columbia, Canada, and Brenda L. Foley of Sumner; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Price-Helton Funeral Chapel in Auburn.

Bessie Marie Mellroth of the Skyway area died Nov. 11, 2001, in Burien. She was 74.
Born Dec. 10, 1926, in Medford, Okla., she lived in the South County area for 34 years.

She is survived by her husband, Helmer Mellroth of Seattle; son Michael Mellroth of Auburn; daughters Donna Bliss of Algona and Patty Perovich of Kent; sister Helen Bookey of Edmonds; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ann Saturnini of Renton died Nov. 12, 2001, in Renton. She was 86.
Born Jan. 6, 1915, in Renton, she was a lifetime resident of the South County area.
Mrs. Saturnini worked as an electrical worker at The Boeing Co.
She is survived by her husband, George Saturnini of Renton; and sisters Edith Jorgenson and Adele Bostone, both of Wenatchee.
