Geraline Haynie
Former South County resident Geraline Haynie of Sumner died Nov. 15, 2001, in Auburn. She was 74.
Born April 28, 1927, in Bowling Green, Ky., she lived in Burien for 10 years and Des Moines for 17 years.
She retired as an inspector at Rainier Brewery and enjoyed traveling to Reno.
She is survived by her sons, Andrew Haynie and Steven Haynie, both of Sumner; daughters Linda Noffke of Sumner and Lee Asen of Bonney Lake; brother Jim Hayden of Cincinnati; sister Elsie McCleary of Cincinnati; and six grandchildren.
A private family service will be held.

Barry D. Thompson
Barry D. Thompson died Nov. 14, 2001, at his home in Maple Valley. He was 65.
Born June 27, 1936, in Tacoma, Mr. Thompson served in the Air Force and lived in the South County area for 60 years.
He enjoyed working crossword puzzles and camping.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Joyce Thompson of Maple Valley; daughter Tammy Williamson of Lakewood; stepdaughters Renee Wright of Packwood, Sharleen Colby of Federal Way, Jeanene Armstrong of Marysville and Diane Williams of Seattle; brothers Keith Thompson and Michael Thompson, both of Renton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
No service will be held.

Lillian B. Fletcher
Lillian B. Fletcher of Renton died of natural causes Nov. 16, 2001, at Group Health Hospital. She was 83.
Born Oct. 14, 1918, in Pine Bluff, Ark., Mrs. Fletcher was a retired homemaker who lived in the area for 41 years.
Mrs. Fletcher's husband, Verle H. Fletcher, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Winkler of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother, Raymond Bain; sisters, Lottie Calhoun, Noni Bain, Jeanie Brown and Lucy Koonce; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle. Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.
Marion K. Shepherd
Marion K. Shepherd of Kent died Nov. 15, 2001. She was 85.
Born March 12, 1916, in Portland, Ore., she was a 1934 graduate of Franklin High School.
She was a homemaker and a saleswoman, and volunteered at Valley Medical Center for 20 years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Kent and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Diehl Shepherd Sr., in 1962; her son, Diehl Shepherd Jr., in 1997; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
She is survived by daughters, Margaret Atherton and Marilyn Alexander of Renton, and Candi Adelsman and Cheri Jacobsen, both of Kent; brother Isaac H. Kenney; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Faith Baptist Church in Kent.

Jaidyn S. Fincher-Marquis
Jaidyn Simone Fincher-Marquis of Bothell died Nov. 15, 2001. She was 10 months old.
She was born Jan. 30, 2001, in Seattle.
She is survived by her mother, Brittany Marquis of Bothell; her father, Tyrell Fincher of Auburn; grandparents Don and Brenda Fincher of Kent and Nina Marquis of Federal Way; and cousin Malcolm Fincher of Kent.
Visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. today at Marlatt Funeral Home in Kent. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today at St. Anthony's Chapel at Holy Spirit Parish in Kent.
Evonne Naasz
Evonne Naasz of Renton died Nov. 14, 2001. She was 75.
Born Sept. 29, 1926, in Snohomish County, she lived in Renton for the past 34 years.
She retired from The Boeing Co. in 1986 after 10 years in shipping and receiving.
She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Rueben Naasz of Renton; son Brian Naasz of New York; daughter Lynnette Gardner of Auburn; brothers Richard Roberts of Loomis and Warren E. Roberts Jr., of Snohomish; sister Phyllis Charles of Arizona; and two grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Renton.
Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Barry Nowacky
Barry Nowacky of Kent died Nov. 14, 2001, of cancer, in Federal Way. He was 48.
Born June 24, 1953, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., he lived in Kent for five years. He served in the Air Force from 1971 to 1975.
He worked in production at Kenworth Truck Company, and enjoyed baseball and auctions.
He is survived by his parents, Catherine and Ed Nowacky of Kent; brother Elliott Nowacky of Heidelberg, Germany; sister Patricia Andersen of Federal Way; and grandmother Estelle Trunk of Kent.
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jerry L. Johnson
Jerry Lee Johnson of Auburn died Nov. 14, 2001, in Auburn. He was 62.
Born May 16, 1939, in Shelton, he spent most of his life in Auburn.
He worked as a district manager for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed fishing and bowling.
He is survived by his son, Chet Johnson of Auburn; daughter Tammy Johnson of Olympia; brother Mike Johnson of Tacoma; and two grandchildren.

Don N. Tucker
Former Kent resident Don Neely Tucker died Nov. 17, 2001, at his home in Graham. He was 67.
Born May 29, 1934, in Agnos, Ark., he lived in the Kent area for 30 years.
Mr. Tucker retired as a welder and machinist. He enjoyed building and remodeling, playing the guitar and singing, fishing, hunting, playing pool and playing cribbage.
He is survived by his sons, Walter Tucker and Bruce Wayne Tucker, both of Graham; daughters Karen Sue Tucker Layos of Auburn, Carolyn Marie Caylor of Okanogan and Sandra Louise Parker of Raliegh, N.C.; brother Paul Tucker of Wenatchee; sister Phylis Wright of Roy; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Firlane Memorial Park in Spanaway. Burial will be in Wenatchee.
Frieda E. Reiners
Frieda E. Reiners of Kent died Nov. 22, 2001, at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. She was 73.
Born Aug. 7, 1928, in Saskatchewan, she lived in the South County area for 47 years.
She enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Reiners, and son Thomas Welke. She is survived by son Harold Oly Welke of Issaquah; daughters Barbara Welke of Federal Way and Teresa Reiners Stickland of Tacoma; brother Hank Stobbe of British Columbia; sisters Catherine Harris of British Columbia and Aggie Smiley of Everett; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Bonney Watson Washington Memorial in SeaTac.
Tiny H. P. Marsden
Tiny Hilda Pearl Marsden of Renton died Nov. 23, 2001, in Renton. She was 92.
Born July 19, 1909, in Cederdale, Ontario, Canada, she graduated from North Central High School in Spokane in 1927 and married
David B. Marsden in 1937 in Spokane. She moved to Renton in 1953.
Mrs. Marsden was a homemaker and a member of the Renton Senior Center, Hilltop Garden Club and the Renton First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing pinochle, attending community dances and activities at the senior center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David B. Marsden in 1967. She is survived by her sons, Douglas Marsden of Kent and Dennis Marsden of Everett; sisters Ruby Halverson of Puyallup, Connie Bolenbaugh of Woodinville and Louise Carney of Spokane; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton.
