Charles F. Russell Jr.
Charles Frederick Russell Jr. of Renton died Nov. 24, 2001, at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue. He was 57.
Born March 25, 1944, in Everett, he served in the Navy and lived in Renton for 15 years.
Mr. Russell worked, for 10 years as a systems analyst at Computer Associates. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints May Valley Ward and enjoyed stamp collecting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debra Ann Russell of Renton; son Richard Russell of Renton; daughters Denise Gardner of Renton and Valerie Paxman of Provo, Utah; parents Chuck and Mary Russell of Spokane; brothers Steve Russell of Westport and David Russell of Incline Village, Nev.; sisters Gail Russell of Spokane and Mary Lou Burton of Vernal, Utah; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints May Valley Ward in Renton. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Tahoma National cemetery in Maple Valley.
Memorials may be made to Northwest Kidney Foundation.

Doreen J. Devine
Doreen J. Devine of Maple Valley died Nov. 26, 2001, in Renton. She was 74.
Born June 11, 1927, in Kelso, she attended school in Shelton and graduated from Queen Anne High School in Seattle. She lived in South County for 60 years.
She worked at Pacific Northwest Bell for 29 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Covington and of Telephone Pioneers of America. She volunteered at Auburn General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Beard. She is survived by husband Robert Devine of Maple Valley; sons William Beard of Everett and Timothy Miller of Kirkland; and numerous grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today at Price-Helton Funeral Chapel in Auburn. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Covington. Burial will be at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.
Royal I. Doolittle
Royal Irving Doolittle of Auburn died Nov. 23, 2001, in Auburn. He was 87.
Born Jan. 12, 1914, in Codott, Wis., he graduated from Leavenworth High School in Leavenworth. He lived in South County for 27 years.
Mr. Doolittle was a self-employed watchmaker in Raymond until 1959, after which he did house construction work. He enjoyed model railroads, pinochle and checkers.
He is survived by his sons, Bob Doolittle of Stockton, Calif., and Bill Doolittle and Jerry Doolittle, both of Kent; daughter Mary Ellen Doolittle of Auburn; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Auburn.

Rose Gauthier
Rose Gauthier of Maple Valley died Nov. 21, 2001, in Tacoma. She was 81.
Born Feb. 12, 1920, in Roundup, Mont., she moved to Hiawatha near Selleck in 1936 from Montana. She lived in South County for 65 years.
She was employed at various hotel chains and was a self-taught seamstress who enjoyed making clothes for her family. She also enjoyed writing short stories, gardening and canning.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Woodrow Gauthier; daughter Gayle Marie Mummert; and brothers Matt Snoj and Frank Snoj. She is survived by her sons, Ken Gauthier and Pat Gauthier, both of Maple Valley; brothers Joe Kombol and Bill Kombol, both of Roundup, Mont.; sisters Mary Tilman of San Francisco and Margaretta Snoj of Seattle; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Weeks' Enumclaw Funeral Home.

Roy Robert Smith
Roy Robert Smith of Enumclaw died Nov. 22, 2001. He was 92.
Born Feb. 24, 1909, in Little Falls, Minn., Mr. Smith came to the South County area 61 years ago. He spent 38 of those years in Renton and moved to Enumclaw last year.
Mr. Smith retired in 1974 after 32 years as a mechanic for Boeing. He was a member of the Machinists Union.
Mr. Smith liked to make small things and was good at fixing things, particularly bicycles.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Smith; his son, Robert Smith of Enumclaw; his daughter, Pauline Jensen of Tukwila; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held there at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Eileen Patricia Cleary
Eileen Patricia Cleary of Auburn died Nov. 22, 2001. She was 65.
Born March 12, 1936, in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada, she was an Auburn resident for 40 years.
She had worked at Auburn Regional Medical Center for eight years as a medical records clerk. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed arts and crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Cleary of Auburn; sons Gerald and Timothy Cleary, both of Auburn; daughter Kathleen Schamerhorn of Auburn; five grandchildren; sisters Marie Janes and Paula Buck, both of Canada; and brother John Murphy of Canada.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today at the Price-Helton Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Auburn.
Remembrances may be made to the Liver Transplant Clinic at the University of Washington.
Glen O. Fenstermacher
Glen O. Fenstermacher of Auburn died Nov. 22, 2001. He was 88.
Born Feb. 13, 1913, in Amherst, Neb., he lived in South County for 53 years.
He was a sprinkler fitter and worked for numerous companies. He retired in 1978.
He received a 50-year membership certificate and watch from the United Association of Pipe Fitters. He was a charter member of the Automatic Fire Protection Union, Local 699. He was a former eagle and moose member.
He enjoyed gardening and had a greenhouse. He enjoyed when children would come and get cookies from him. He loved to look out the front window and watch the birds and squirrels from his easy chair.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Fenstermacher of Auburn; son Ron Fenstermacher of Auburn; daughters Glenda Morris of Federal Way, Glady McElhaney of Maple Valley and Donna Rittenhouse of Auburn; brothers Harland Selmer of Oregon and Harley Selmer of Lake Stevens; sisters Juanita Croiser of Yakima and Lucille Maul of Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. tomorrow and before the services Tuesday.
A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Memorial in SeaTac. Reception will follow at Parker Chapel in Burien.
Remembrances may be made to the Federal Way Fire Department, station 4.
Kern `Gene' Sitzes
Kern ``Gene'' Sitzes of Kent died Nov. 23, 2001. He was 70.
Born July 12, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., he was a resident of South County for 30 years.
He served in the Army from 1953 to 1956. He was retired from the automobile industry.
He left an indelible legacy of humor and love to all who knew him, his family said.
He was a true Mariners fan. The 2001 season gave him great delight during difficult times. His first love was being surrounded by his family and his faithful bedside canine companion, Romeo.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Sitzes of Kent; son Clark Sitzes of Olympia; daughter Rhonda Nichelson of Kent; and grandchildren Geoffrey, Emily, Andrew and Leah Ann.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenwood Memorial Chapel in Renton. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Memorial cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to Franciscan Hospice in Tacoma.
Glenna Ozelene Podriznik
Glenna Ozelene Podriznik of Renton died Nov. 19, 2001. She was 85.
Born Oct. 13, 1916, in Weimer, Okla., she moved to Renton from Kansas in 1953.
She received her teaching certificate in Kansas and enjoyed playing music and teaching piano.
She was a homemaker and an avid Sonics and Mariners fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Podriznik.
She is survived by her son, Richard Podriznik of Seattle; stepson Reginald Podriznik of Seattle; brother Joseph Rhodes of Kansas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Faull-Stokes Mortuary. Burial will be at Tahoma National cemetery.
Ladonna Gamba
Ladonna Gamba of Renton died Nov. 21, 2001. She was 69.
Born Dec. 15, 1931, in Kenyon, Minn., she lived in South County for the past 47 years.
She was a cook's assistant for the Renton School District, a Lutheran and enjoyed bingo.
Her generous heart and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by her friends and family, survivors said.
She is survived by her sons Jerry and Jim; daughter Jill; and sisters Jeanie and Jackie.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood cemetery.
