Charles L. Lindsey
Charles ``Les'' L. Lindsey, 90, died July 26 at his Renton home.
Born July 2, 1912, in Decatur, Ala., Mr. Lindsey was married
to Roxie L. Lindsey for 55 years. He was an owner-operator of a service station for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Roxie, at the family home; a son, Ron L. Lindsey, of Renton; a daughter, Caren L. Smith, of Renton; six grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
In keeping with Mr. Lindsey's wishes, there will be no funeral. Arrangements are under the direction of American Memorial of Renton.
Marvel Ann Rieck
Marvel Ann Rieck of Renton died Aug. 6, 2002, in Kirkland. She was 64.
She was born July 30, 1938, in Fort Yates, N.D. She graduated from Renton High School in 1956 and lived in South County for 51 years.
She was employed as a secretary for Kraft Foods and retired in 1999. She was a member of the Auburn Eagles and past member of the Professional Secretary Association, Lake Washington chapter.
She is survived by her son, Michael William Rieck of Whidbey Island; daughter Tonya A. Gladfelder of Puyallup; mother Claudia Bierderstedt of Renton; sister Laura Langland of Bellevue; and four grandchildren.
A crytpside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Deborah Jean Fowler
Deborah ``Debbie'' Jean Fowler of Kent died Aug. 4, 2002, in Auburn. She was 46.
She was born Oct. 17, 1955, in Renton and lived her entire life in South King County. She graduated from Kentridge High School in 1974. She was an office manager for J.W.B. Construction in Auburn for 11 years.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Fowler of Kent; son Daniel Klemetsen of Kent, daughter Carrie M. Klemetsen of Kent; stepsons Shawn Fowler of Federal Way and Scott Fowler of Kent; parents Les and Peggy Fleming of Kent; brothers Dale Fleming of Kent; Richard Fleming of Kalispell, Mont., and Terry Fleming of Kent; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kent Covenant Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

John T. Simpson
John T. Simpson of Renton, a 38-year veteran of The Boeing Co., died Aug. 2 at Wesley Homes nursing facility in Des Moines. He was 77.
Born Nov. 14, 1925, in Chattanooga, Tenn., he lived in the Seattle-Renton area for 53 years. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He married
Effie E. Simpson in 1949.
He retired from The Boeing Co. in 1986, where he had worked for 38 years as an electrician and supervisor at the company's Renton plant. He enjoyed golf and fishing and was an active member in the Highlands Community Church in Renton.
He is survived by his wife Effie at the family home; a son Daryl Yager of San Antonio; a daughter Linda Jackson of Renton; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Bonney Watson-Washington Memorial Funeral Home in SeaTac. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Bessie G. Gollnick
Bessie Gardiner Gollnick of Renton died Aug. 3, 2002, in Auburn. She was 82.
Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Morton, Wash., Mrs. Gollnick graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle and Central Washington University. She then attended University of Washington to obtain her teaching certificate.
Mrs. Gollnick was an elementary school teacher for 36 years in the South Central (Tukwila) School District. She retired in 1982.
Mrs. Gollnick lived in the SeaTac area for 38 years and moved to Auburn in 1989. She moved to Renton in 1992.
Mrs. Gollnick's husband, Oscar A. Gollnick, died in 1991. She is survived by her son, John Gollnick of Black Diamond; her daughter, Mary Gollnick of Renton; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
An urn graveside committal will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent.

Lois Crounse
Lois Crounse of Auburn died Aug. 2, 2002, in Auburn. She was 90.
She was born in Hood River, Ore., on April 10, 1912, and has lived in Auburn for the last two years. She was a photo finisher and also worked in child care.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting and working with her hands.
She is survived by three granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
Private family services are planned. Arrangements are by American Burial and Cremation Services.
Lena Gladys Woodruff
Lena Gladys Woodruff of Auburn died Aug. 1, 2002, in Auburn. She was 89.
Born July 8, 1913, in Waco, Texas, Woodruff lived in the South County area for 62 years.
She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Woodruff. She is survived by her son, Glynne Woodruff of Auburn; daughter Vivian Bingham of Sumner; brother Stanley Williams of Hendersonville, N.C.; sisters Ola Cook of Federal Way and Mona Shanstrom of Green Valley, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Yahn & Son Chapel. Burial will be at Forrest Lawn cemetery.
Dororthy L. Rasmussen
Dorothy L. Rasmussen of Auburn died July 31, 2002, in Auburn. She was 97.
Born March 29, 1905, in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived in South County for 52 years.
She was a dental hygienist at Fort Lewis, Wash. for more than 20 years before she retired.
She enjoyed playing bridge and cooking, and volunteered her time in elementary schools and a veterans hospital.
She is survived by her husband, James ``Ed'' Rasmussen; stepson Dennis Rasmussen; stepdaughter Penny Keach; and three grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life memorial service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Rio Verde Club House in Auburn.

Michael F. Larsen
Michael Fred Larsen, 42, of Bonney Lake died Aug. 1, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 23, 1960, in Tremonton, Utah. He was married
to Tammy L. Carr on April 15, 1999. A South King County resident for 25 years, he was a planning engineer for The Boeing Co. He was a member of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace.
He enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, scuba diving and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife Tammy; a daughter, Chanele Larsen of Sumner; his parents, Gareth Larsen of Redmond and Patty Larsen of Tacoma; a brother, Steve Larsen of Enumclaw, and sisters Deborah Snyder of Federal Way, Lorraine Both of Eugene, Ore., and Lisa Larsen of Eatonville.
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Thursday at the Puyallup Stake Center. A private family burial is at Mountain View cemetery in Auburn.

Robert C. Holmes
Robert C. Holmes of Kent died of a heart attack July 31, 2002, in Kent. He was 57.
Born Dec. 17, 1944, in Tacoma, he served in the Marine Corps and lived in Kent for 50 years.
Mr. Holmes was the owner of Kent Holmes Painting for six years. He was a member of the Elks, and the Des Moines-Kent fishing club. He enjoyed fishing, elk hunting and deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Holmes of Kent; sons Robert Holmes of Tacoma and Eric Holmes of California; daughters Lesa Allen of Des Moines and Dianna Holmes of Burien; brothers Doug Holmes of Tacoma and Steve Holmes of Yelm; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Marlatt Funeral Home in Kent. Burial will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Maple Valley.
Nelson Burke Humphries
Nelson Burke Humphries of Kent died Oct. 8, 2002, in Burien. He was 65.
Born April 1, 1937, in Ewing, Ky., he served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and lived for 34 years in Kent.
Mr. Humphries was a cook at the Olympic Four Seasons and the Elks Club in Federal Way. In 1999, he retired from United Airlines after 33 years as a ramp serviceman. He belonged to the Lake Wilderness Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, cooking and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Humphries of Kent; sons Jay McQueen and Bruce Humphries, both of Auburn, George McQueen of Federal Way and Michael McQueen of Tukwila; daughters Debra McQueen of Maple Valley and Carol Lee Galbraith of Kentucky; sisters Carol Morgan of Texas and Judy Jones of Idaho; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park.

Roberta D. Scribner
Roberta Diane (Cheatham) Scribner of Black Diamond died Oct. 2, 2002, in Auburn. She was 62.
Born Feb. 7, 1940, in Seattle, she graduated from Highline High School in 1958 and lived in the South County area for 22 years.
She worked as an executive assistant in the Navy for 21 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbors Club of Kent. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, shrimping and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Scribner. She is survived by her husband, Robert F. ``Corky'' Carroll Jr.; stepdaughters Heidi Reano of Black Diamond and Brenda Holdener of Buckley; and sister Billie J. Anton of Port Gamble.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Marlatt Funeral Home in Kent.
