Harold A. Chapler
Harold Arthur Chapler of Des Moines died Feb. 3, 1998, at Valley Medical Center in Renton.
He was 41.
Born Aug. 20, 1956, in Oxnard, Calif., Mr. Chapler married
Paula Ann Charbonneau in 1988 in Roy.
He moved to South County 13 years ago from Bremerton. He worked as an auto mechanic at South Seattle Auto Auction.
He enjoyed motorcycles, sand rails, cars, tinkering and camping.
Mr. Chapler is survived by his wife, Paula Chapler of Des Moines; his father, Robert Chapler of Oxnard, Calif.; his mother, Mary Chapler of Shelton; two brothers, John Chapler of Olalla and Robert Chapler of Arlington; and three sisters, Mary Lou Beane of Olalla, Monica Vlist of San Antonio, Texas, and Rose Eddy of Little Rock, Ark.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Yahn and Son Funeral Home in Auburn.
Deborah K. Stage
Deborah `` Debbie'' Kay Chauran Stage of Auburn died Jan. 8, 1998, in Auburn. She was 43.
Born May 13, 1954, in Eugene, Ore., Mrs. Stage moved in 1964 to Springfield, Ore., where she attended high school.
She married
David Stage in 1977 in Springfield.
A resident of Auburn for the past nine years, she was working at an electronics assembly manufacturing plant in Kent at the time of her death.
Mrs. Stage enjoyed doing needlework and reading.
She is survived by her husband, David Stage of Auburn; her parents, Richard and Pauline Chauran of Springfield, Ore.; a brother, John Chauran of Beaverton, Ore.; and two sisters, Carol Chauran of Kent and Julie Chauran of Milwaukee.
A memorial service was held Jan. 11 at Price-Helton Funeral Chapel in Auburn.

Karen Hawn
Former Renton resident Karen (Trimm) Hawn died of cancer Feb. 6, 1998, in Kennewick. She was 42.
She was born June 23, 1955, in Renton to Chuck and Marilyn Trimm and graduated from high school there in 1973.
She attended college and worked at Nordstrom for several years before marrying Ray Hawn.
They moved to Grandview 10 years ago, and she was active in the community's schools and sports.
Her husband died in 1990. She is survived by two children, Kelsey and A.J., and her parents, all of the family home in Grandview.
A funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Church of the Nazarene in Grandview.
Interment will follow at Grandview cemetery.

Emerick Kauzlarich
Emerick Kauzlarich of Renton died Feb. 3, 1998, at Valley Medical Center in Renton.
He was 79.
He was born Nov. 27, 1918, in Roslyn and had lived in Renton for 62 years.
A World War II veteran, he spent more than four years in the Coast Guard.
He retired in 1980 from Paccar and Foundry, where he was a machinist.
He belonged to the Roslyn Eagles and Renton Masonic Lodge No. 35.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Winnie (Alduina) Kauzlarich of Renton; two sons, Gerald Kauzlarich of South Bend and Daniel Kauzlarich of Renton; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A private service took place at Greenwood Memorial Park.
Robert W. Lane
Robert William Lane of Kent died Feb. 4, 1998, in Kent.
He was 40.
He was born March 10, 1957, in Seattle and had lived in Kent for 10 years.
He graduated from Chief Sealth High School in 1976 and became a carpenter, eventually becoming a foreman.
He loved hunting, fishing and camping with his two sons in Eastern Washington.
He also enjoyed skiing and motorcross racing.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Ann Lane of Kent; his two sons, Adam Michael and Jordon Robert, both of Kent; his sister, Marcy Lane Saleh of Kent; his parents, Bill D. and Joyce E. Lane of Ludlow; and his grandparents, Irene and Cecil Lane of Longview.
A funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Des Moines.
Burial will be at Gethsemane Catholic cemetery in Federal Way, followed by a reception at St. Philomena.
Arrangements are by Marlatt Funeral Home in Kent.
Vernice D. Long
Vernice Delores Long of Auburn died Feb. 3, 1998, in Auburn. She was 72.
Born May 13, 1925, in Auburn, Mrs. Long graduated from Auburn High School and married
Douglas G. Long Sr.
She was a registered nurse at Auburn Hospital until her retirement.
Mrs. Long was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Auburn, where she was involved with needlework.
She also was a member of the Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed playing baseball.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and by a son, Randy Long, in 1975.
Mrs. Long is survived by a son, Douglas Long of Pacific; a brother, Ray Ostby of Kennewick; and a sister, Arvilla McMasters of Graham.
A service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent.
Arrangements are by Price-Helton Funeral Chapel in Auburn.
John T. Richards
John Thomas Richards of Pacific died Feb. 6, 1998, in Pacific. He was 53.
Born April 20, 1944, Mr. Richards married
Cheryl Richards and served in the Army.
He was an electrical engineer at Anderson Electrical Controls and a member of the Auburn Eagles.
He was a good problem solver and very knowledgeable in computer technology.
Mr. Richards is survived by his wife; a son, Don Richards of Salem, Ore.; a sister, Vicki Doud, of Redmond; his mother, Virginia Flemming of Burien; and his father, John C. Richards Jr., of Utah.
A service will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Auburn Eagles.
Donations may be given to the charity of one's choice.

William Richard McIntyre
Auburn resident William Richard McIntyre died May 22, 1998, at the Canterbury House in Auburn. He was 81.
Mr. McIntyre was born June 2, 1916, in Priest River, Idaho.
He was raised and educated in Skykomish, Wash. Then he was employed by the C.C.C. before attending the University of Washington.
He completed Naval Air Cadet Training at Sand Point and served in the Navy during World War II.
He was a naval aviator and chased submarines by air in the Atlantic Theater. He retired from the Navy in 1969 after 27 years of service.
Mr. McIntyre is survived by his daughter, Noelle Richards of Enumclaw; sons William McIntyre of Lexington, Ky., and Kenneth McIntyre of Sumner; and sister Ruth McPherson of Tacoma.
A memorial service will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Helton Funeral Chapel in Auburn.

Melba I. Miller
Melba I. Miller died May 14, 1998, at her Kent home. She was 83.
Born Sept. 27, 1914, in Huntley, Ill., Mrs. Miller was a homemaker.
She moved to Kent 10 years ago from Elgin, Ill.
She had lived at the Stafford Suites in Kent.
She was a 50-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Elgin, Ill., and attended the Kent United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Miller, in 1984, and by her parents.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Miller of Seattle, James Miller of Kent and Thomas Miller of Billerica, Mass.; a brother, Forrest Farnsworth of Bellevue; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held in Elgin, Ill.
Burial will be at Bluff City cemetery in Elgin, Ill.
Arrangements are by Edline- Yahn Funeral Home in Kent.

Lulu A. Lindula
Lulu A. Lindula, 80, of Auburn died May 21, 1998, at a local care center.
She was born in Cody, Wyo., on June 16, 1917, and had lived in Washington for 75 years.
She was employed as a waitress.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Hollingsworth of Auburn; a daughter, Sharon Balovich of Sitka, Alaska; a brother, William E. Ricketts of Renton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Price-Helton Funeral Chapel, 114 N. Division, Auburn.
Interment is Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery in Seattle. Arrangements are by the Price-Helton Funeral Chapel.
